Today, I went to the WDW site to get a price for a room at the Beach Club for Sept 21st - 28th. It showed me the only available rooms are lagoon/water view. The lower priced rooms are not available.

Can this really be true? I thought that would be lower season. Is there a big event during this time that has all the standard/garden rooms booked already?

Well, the Food & Wine festival at Epcot starts 9/27. BC is very popular for F&W as it is a easy stroll to Epcot. Perhaps that is what you Are up against.

Yes, that includes opening days of food & wine festival at epcot, a peak bc booking time-even if generally lower crowds overall due to school starting

Make the call about five days before check-in. That's when they "start" assigning some rooms.

I should be there Sunday while you are there. Right now I'm still Sundays and Mondays but they keep saying it may change to Saturdays and Sundays.

Hello Teena!! Its been a long time since I've been on these boards! Missing you! We hope to be back at the Beach Club in May 2014 for DD's graduation trip!!! When we come, we'll have to do dinner again with You and Bob! We may be coming in January 2014 for a quick trip for a long weekend, but these trips are just too far away!!! Hoping we'll hit it right, and get to see Jeanne and Lily one of these trips!

I hope you don't ahve to go to Saturday and Sunday...that's your whole weekend!

Have a great trip!

Did you book the Fantasmic package already? I tried to book it last week too and it looked like it only had bookings up to the end of May.

I phoned the UK Disney company freephone number and booked it for August no problem.

This looks like an awesome ADR list!! That's so great that you got everything you wanted! :yay:

Thank you, really looking forward to the trip. Keeping up with this thread is keeping the excitment levels high.

Definitely dinner!!!!
Saturday and Sunday are fine. The other five days will be my "weekend". When you're retired and have a fun job, the days just don't matter.

Can't believe you won't be back for a year. There is no way you'll stay away that long!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the same experience today exactly a month later in October. Not a single standard room at BC or YC. I am guessing it is F&W but also side-eyeing Disney's website since I was having other issues getting it to search at all.

I wouldn't trust the website. Call.

So I called tonight and the rep told me the website is correct, all standard and garden rooms are booked, probably because Food and Wine starts this weekend. The rep tried to get me to look into the BC Villas, but I worry that the resort is going to be very packed now.

We've been running almost full for a long time. There is no slow season any more. We might have a day or two a week that is below 90% but most of the time we are very full. Families and conventions.

Her you go, bethclayton

Regarding the dining plan...

We have been having trouble deciding if we should go for it or not, so I've been reading a lot on the dining plan boards. Today I saw this link. Someone created a calculator! It is really fantastic.

If you want to download the calculator, I recommend you use Firefox or Chrome to go to the website. I had some trouble with IE.

Teena -helpful on-site info as always. As you note, not only food and wine, but September/October is also prime convention month. And all epcot-area resorts have a convention facility, so if even one has a "big" one, then it can fill up hotels at other ones.

Hi everyone!

I've been lurking on here for the past month or so as I plan our next trip to BC in May. Last time we were there we stayed on the first floor in that little hallway between the marketplace and the main lobby. Our room was in the volleyball court. We really liked this room location, but now that I know more, I'm wondering if we should have been afraid of snakes

We're going to be staying at the YC starting on 2/22. Currently I'm in the middle of treatment for lyme disease and have joints issues etc...

We're staying on the club level and I have no idea how close these rooms are to transportation. Anyone know if the rooms are Spread out over the resort or if they are all clustered on the 5th floor above the Lobby?

I'm only asking so I can politely request something close to the transport area...I can walk around pretty well, I just swell up and get sore after a bit, I'd like to try and use my energy in the parks and not getting to the bus/boat.

Help is much appreciated.

My DD16 is OVERLY disappointed that there are no hammocks! However, I simply remind her not to judge and to find something unique at the BC that will be special to her. The hammocks have always been her escape place to have some time on her own.

I knows DD15 loves the hammocks also. I told her to keep an open mind & she's just acting like a bratty teen girl (DRAMA x 1000)

It is a shame we likely won't be staying at our beloved BC if we can't land a standard or garden room. Our October dates aren't flexible (non-Disney wedding). But, of course, everyone wants to stay there and occupancy is high - everyone loves it as much as we do. :)

Should we request the same location again or am I missing another hidden gem of a location?

Also, I can't remember if the rooms have iPhone charger alarm clocks? Can someone refresh my memory? Thanks a lot!

We've stayed in first floor rooms at YC, BC and the GF and never had a problem. DH and I are terrified of snakes. When we had the ground floor room at BC it was a great deluxe cl room. I just told the front desk of our snake "phobia" and they said they would send the animal control people over there every day just to check.
