I havent been on here since we got back from the YC last June, it has just been too sad with no trip planned, but now i have a shiny new Ticker and want to show it off :cool1:
Cant wait to be sat at the new Hurricane Hannahs:goodvibes Shame about the Noodle Family though we had such fun last year:thumbsup2

We're going to be staying at the YC starting on 2/22. Currently I'm in the middle of treatment for lyme disease and have joints issues etc...

We're staying on the club level and I have no idea how close these rooms are to transportation. Anyone know if the rooms are Spread out over the resort or if they are all clustered on the 5th floor above the Lobby?

I'm only asking so I can politely request something close to the transport area...I can walk around pretty well, I just swell up and get sore after a bit, I'd like to try and use my energy in the parks and not getting to the bus/boat.

Help is much appreciated.

The only CL rooms not on the 5th floor are the Deluxe rooms and most of the suites. Once you exit the elevator on the ground floor, you're only about 2 - 4 minute walk to either the bus stop or the boats to EP and DHS.

On our way to the WORLD, staying in Tallahassee Florida tonight & bright & early, off to the Beach Club Resort:))))

My niece's bday is a few days after we leave Disney. My sister wants to do something special for her the day b4 we all leave. We are all staying a YC CL. If we ask IPO while we are there to put balloons and maybe a few treats & stuff animal (we will buy them from the gift shop) in her room while we are out for when they get back as a surprise. Will they?

I have already looked into the in room celebration I think they are a little high priced for what they offer. She just wants something small. I am her designated family TA lol. So I would be doing the arranging lol

Hi everyone, just booked a garden view room at the Yacht Club for the last full week of April. My flight in is late (at least for me) so I don't think I will get to the resort until after 8pm. Will my room be OK? I'm a little afraid I'll get stuck at the back end of beyond. I had a room once at the Beach Club that if you took a couple more steps you were in the Yacht Club. And the hike to the elevator was horrible. That long hike at the end of the day can seem like it takes forever. Just wanted a little reassurance. Thanks.

I arrive at BCV in just 5 short days! I can't wait to get back. Teena, are you working next weekend? I will be running Sunday morning though we are checking out after the race!!

Beginning our vacation in October at AoA and then moving to YC :beach: for the final 4 days of our trip (Nov 7-10). I have stayed at BC 2x on solo trips before, but this time is for my dear DH to experience such a great resort. Only 254 days to go!! (Did I mention how excited I am!?! :cool1:) Just the HOPE of warmth and sunshine and beaches is a great thing on this wintery day just north of Pittsburgh (Go Pens!!:goodvibes) ! Thanks to all on this thread that help me be informed and encouraged to (im)patiently wait out the next 8 months :flower3:

July is busy season so it's best to have realistic expectations about how crowded Club Level is.... That being said most people dine and dash in an effort to get to the parks so you are just dealing with a continuous stream of people moving in and out primarily during the busy hours (8 am and then again at 5pm when appetizers are put out). I really think Club level will be worth it because it's like having your own gourmet kitchen complete with a top chef making delicious goodies available to you just when you really need them. Remember, if the lounge is too busy for you you can grab a tray and take your goodies to go.

Now here is the good news. There are some delicious hang out areas at the resort. The lobby can be noisy and busy so I'm not talking about that area unless it's early in the morning before Cape May opens for breakfast. What I'm talking about is the off the beaten path hideaway in the lobby of the Beach Club Villas! My husband discovered this area and he would grab a cup of something from the coffee machine in the lounge and then go hang out there on the comfy couches with a book.

To get to this area you just take the pathway that is right by the Beach Club Market Place, which is immediately off of the Beach Club lobby. It would take you less than 2 minutes to get there from the Club Level area.

There are two areas.

The first is the larger of the two areas and it serves as a low traffic pass through for the Villas. Here is a great photo:

OK, so not too bad but not so relaxing huh.... WELL there is another room very near this and it is much more intimate and relaxing. It's right off of this room in the Villas lobby and it's got a couple of sofas and it's off set from the beaten path. I couldn't find any pictures of it so this one will have to do:

Remember, there isn't a check in desk or other busy area type office in the Beach Club Villas Lobby. It's just a quiet area with the occasional Villas guest (AKA "Villains") passing through. With 5 people in our room we liked to think of this as our living room and Club Level as our kitchen. Tell your Hubby to think of the resort like this and then Club Level during the busy season is a relaxing proposition.

Right across from the Beach Club Marketplace there is also the Beach Club resort Solarium, which is literally right across the outdoor path from the Beach Club Villas lobby. (Think 100 meters away) This area can get busy with people eating at the small tables from the Marketplace. There is also an outdoor area with larger tables that can be nice to relax at. But for my money I like that (not so) secret Beach Club Villas lobby area to relax at.

I'm not too familiar with the Yacht Club but I'm sure there are areas over there too.

:lmao:

I can't wait for your trip to get here! Good luck with the marathon and be sure to let us know how you made out.

I am still catching up after a week away.
Ninja Mom, this is the second or third time I have seen you give the advice to all to use the common areas inside the BCV building. These two areas are not available for the guests of the Beach Club, but for Villa guest only. As a DVC BCV owner, I pay many hundreds (over a thousand) dollars a year just in maintainence fees on my membership to, among other things, maintain these spaces. I understand that your husband discovered these rooms and enjoyed them. I agree that there is no one there to "throw him out". That doesn't make it right.
Everyone has the option to join DVC to enjoy DVC benefits. If you can not or choose not, please respect the spaces that are reserved for members only. I don't mean to be a PIA, but I pay a lot of money each and every year, whether I go or not, for the DVC benefits I have. I want to be able to enjoy the peace and quiet you describe, and that I pay for.
Thanks

Oh dear, I am surprised at this. I am certain there are plenty of Vacation Clubbers that have relaxed in public areas of Disney Hotels. I guess I think we should all just enjoy our vacations. :goodvibes

Can you all talk me off the ledge??:) I originally had our reservation for 4 nights std view at BC and then moving over to AofA for 3 nights. My kids wanted to check the new place out. Well, since then, I've upgraded our std room to CL.

When I got my visa newsletter the other day, it says that you can get 35% off cirque tickets through them, and my husband and I have both been wanting to see that. The problem is, the only night it's showing of our trip is one of the AofA nights. I'm really debating changing our whole trip to BC so we will have the use of the kids' club. Would that be crazy?? And would my kids be too upset?

You can use the Kids Clubs, no matter where you are staying. Of course, if you are at AoA, you will need to schlepp those kids over to a kids club. (Neverland club is cool.) It is a whole lot more convenient if you are staying where there happens to be a kids club.....

Just arrived in Tallahassee!
It's the first time l did NOT check-in online. So a little nervous...but I requested a large balcony & possible upgrade in view on my ressie & over phone 5 days ago. So we'll see! I'm not worried about waiting time to check-in, just requests:0 Take care.

Teena - have a great trip to see your Princess!

I'm catching up on the boards, finally finished editing our 200+ photos from the photo pass and just ordered the cd. My proposed summer trip to WDW is not in the works any longer - our two weeks at Lake Winnipesaukee (did I spell that right?) is now THREE! New England in the summer for three lazy weeks, Ill take it! And then my Uncle is getting married at Hotel Hershey in August so looks like we are doing Hershey Park.

While I will miss my beloved WDW, I know we will be back in January for a land/sea combo so I will just have to wait out my time for sunken treasures and live vicariously through you good folk on this board :)

Looking forward to reading Dee's report!
