Are only 2 elevators working at the yacht club. When were were there only 2 seemed to be working. My husband was calling them the tower of terror because they seemed worn down and would be broken at any minute. also on top of the elevator where it says what floor it was on was not working either. however they do get you to the floor quickly.

Well.....according to BC super secret trivia one of those elevators is an imposter. We were there is September and rode in three of them so I'm pretty sure I know which one it is. I never saw one of those floor indicators working either.

10 days until our next stay at YC.:banana:Haven't seen DD21 in over 2 months since she's interning at the World so I'm super excited!:yay:Thanks, just had to share my joy.:flower3:

Hard when they grow up and leave home, IMO. I try really hard not to be a helicopter mom, but.... One more day and hopefully I'll be into days until WDW - I'm so over this 'months' until WDW business.
Plus, had to post to see if my new ticker design worked.
edited to add - tecnical fail on the ticker, back to try again.

I'm feeling very blue...we have a reservations at the YC in March, for a few days pre-cruise (OK, I'm not THAT blue!). But...my DH (me too, if I'm really honest!) is totally shocked by the prices per night for YC. We stayed at the BC (with a pin code, which helped) last year and we LOVED it! I really, really wanted to be back, and try YC this time. Now it's looking like the Swan for us. Still something to look forward to, but well...it's not BC/YC and it's not a Disney resort.

I'll be cancelling those reservations soon, and maybe then I'll admit that I'm not going to be staying on property this trip. In the meantime, I keep wishing the pin code fairy will magically deposit a fantastic pin code in my email box. I know that's just not going to happen, but until I cancel, I still hold out that last faint hope...

Teena, you were still recovering last month and we just missed you (we left early on what I think was your first day back?). Maybe we'll drop by and hope for a big Teena welcome anyway...

If you are staying on points, no, no upgrades.

If you are paying cash, it's always a teeny tiny possibility. We were upgraded from a BCV studio when we were paying cash to a 2 BR one time. It was only for one night, if I recall. Longer stays would make that less likely.

Hey, I have another question (shocker...) can you use discount codes for villas? I'm not DVC (wish I was and maybe one day I will be:)) but when I booked the cast member indicated I could use the codes and for me to watch out because she thinks we'll get some due to the 40th anniversary celebration. Last trip I got a GREAT code so I'm hoping for a little bit of break again this time! :lmao: Thanks as always!!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Are there any kids offerings in the club level lounge? Peanut butter sandwiches? Etc.?

Thanks!

That's dedication!

We were gifted some pool noodles in the BCV elevator one time and it made our day! So try that if you see a family checking in.

We also own at SSR, but have stayed at BCV a few times. It has become our favorite resort I think, mainly due to being close to Epcot and the Studios.

Did they have my initials on them :rotfl: We gave a couple of noodles to a family when we left 9/1, with the instructions to pass them on when they were done with them. Hope they're still floating around

So I had planned on a Poly/GF stay. Upon arriving to check in at GF, the manager said he had bad news, they "overbooked" my room dur to a wedding BUT he moved us to a 2BR suite at YC.

I had an excellent experience at YC. It was just DH and I, and all the CMs from Bell services to Mousekeeping, to CL lounge were fantastic. My only complaint was the distance from our suite to the 5th floor lounge. But we stayed at an AKL suite on the 2nd floor which was MUCH further away...I was in a wheelchair this trip which made it seem more inconvient IMO.

The resort is beautiful. The walk to Epcot amazing. We watched Illuminations from our balcony. No boat or bus issues AT ALL.

We were in 4209. 2 King bedrooms, living room...LOVELY. And the CMs were able to change ALL my ADRs :lovestruc

The CL lounge is small, and ran out of seating often. But I think the resort...actually Disneyworld as a whole, was busy. The offerings NEVER ran out. And the CMs went above and beyond to make our trip wonderful.

In 2012 we were due to stay at BC, but we changed to Poly, DH wants more time there. I think the MK side is better for us, for now, once the kids are a little older we will try BC.

Wow what an amazing upgrade! Sounds wonderful. Even if you weren't in the MK area. But strange they wouldn't try to put you into the Poly, so you'd still be in the MK area.
We stayed in BC last Aug, and loved it.

If you belong to AAA you can call WDW reservations and usually get a discount (you have to call, not book online). We're going back to the YC next April and I was able to get a 25% discount using my AAA membership number. The discount varies and is not always available.

When we were at BC CL in September, they had cereal (froot loops were the only sugary ones) and oatmeal, plus fresh fruit for breakfast. Snacks were chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies with Mickey head sprinkles, plus Swedish fish. 5 pm offerings included apples with caramel dip, little rolls with little cups of peanut butter and jelly, and raw vegetables with dip. Dessert offerings were usually little cheesecake-ish cups---raspberry, chocolate, etc. My kids (DD8 and DS3) always found things to enjoy and will probably kill me if we don't stay CL next year!

Does anyone know if I can get a cake either made by BC or delivered to Beaches & Cream? On our 1st nite, we plan our eating there and since it's DD bday, I thought a Mickey head cake would be a nice ending to our day.

You can get a cake at the Broadway Bakery. You could call the cake line ahead at 407-827-2253. Just tell them you want to order from the Broadway Bakery and they'll put you through. You can ask if they'll deliver to B&C. They may or may not. I know they will definitely deliver to any Boardwalk restaurant. We had a cake delivered to Cat Cora's last year.

Have a great vacation!

When are you planning on going? The amazing underwhelming 40th anniversary was on October 1 and it was apparently very blase and not much of a celebration. The fall discounts are out and I wouldn't expect further discounts. Villas are usually included in the discounts but not DVC. DVC booking is totally separate and is booked by points and the points required fluctuate by season. HTH.

I keep seeing threads and posts that are referring to crowd calendars, predictions, etc. What are your thoughts on these? What are they? Is there really someone with a crystal ball who channels all her powers into planning our vacations? I am really curious about this. :confused3
