2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part III- DO NOT POST HERE- Summer/Fall

Hope everyone has recovered from the early snowfall. Our last snow that stayed on the ground around here was in 1962 (I remember it well,) we are finally down to the mid 70s.
I am mulling over a decision, I switched our package to an AP discount awhile back and bought one AP - the voucher was shipped by Disney and is in my hot little hands.
The past 3 trips I've done packages and the hoppers where part of the package. This time because of the AP, I need to buy tickets for one of us - it feels, well, sorta weird.
Sat. I wandered on down to the local shrine to consumption (aka mall) and tried to buy a 10 day park hopper pass from the Disney store. Their cash register only let's them sell up to 7 day tickets. I tried calling AAA, left a message, no response (waiting 3 days now,) I looked online and disney wants $5 to ship a pass. So I'm thinking about Undercover tourist - signed up for the mousesavers (or allears?) newsletter to get the extra discount. I know I could buy a pass when I get there, but I like knowing it's all paid for and taken care of before I get there. I know I should post this over in attractions/tickets, but I don't know them KWIM? Has anyone had any experience with Undercover Tourist?
BTW, if I love the YC and there's a bounceback offer I like, I'll probably upgrade the 10 day hopper to another AP when I get there and return next year Decemberish.

Teena, when do you leave for vacation? We will be there Nov 11-18.

I just got back from the YC yesterday. The only construction I saw was at the BC. They were working on an area in the back near the Marketplace.

The construction moves constantly. Where it was on Monday is now entirely different I'm sure.

I just got back from the YC yesterday. The only construction I saw was at the BC. They were working on an area in the back near the Marketplace.

We purchased 5 day park hoppers from UT last May without a problem. Tickets arrived in the mail within a few days. When we checked in at OKW, we had them transfer the UT park tickets to the room cards and again, no problem.

Hello from my new apartment!! I have survived the move!! Some how saying I live in Brooklyn doesn't sound as cool as I live in the boogie down Bronx... Oh well! DH (damn husband), his friend and I were up at 2am loading the uhaul and made the trip to Brooklyn and unloaded and returned the uhaul at 7am...crazy!! And we were quiet! I have 13boxes left to unpack,so I think we did a good job today. DH out like a light which is fine he works midnight - 11am which is why we moved in the middle of the night plus he was off today.

So now that the move is over (except the unpacking) I have DD and my awesome Thanksgiving trip as the light at the end of the very dark tunnel!!! Woohoo only 15 days to go! I don't even care if there is construction!

I hope those of you who lost power have it back by now or will have it back soon. Let's all hope for a calm winter!

MM I so look forward to your off Y/B club topics. Keep them coming they always bring a smile to my face and I love the laughs.

Hi everyone,

Yes, the rumors are true, Pastina is in an Ashram in India. She is there to study Yoga and she is currently teaching youngsters to swim in the beautiful lakes of Kashmir. The family and I are considering joining her, especially since I recently had an online interview for a job at the Srinagar Olive Garden. If I hear anything I'll be sure to let you know. As for now we are still at the Beach Club, in the heated pool, enjoying Fall in WDW. With the free WIFI at the hotel we Skype with Pastina on a regular basis so we keep in touch every day.

Pastina spends many hours meditating on the souls of departed love bugs and she wants everyone to know that all is well in the universe.

Hi Everyone!!!! I power was restored last night around 8:00p.m. I still have friends that are without power. Hopefully by tomorrow everyone will be back up. I don't ever remember seeing so many tree branches down and trees uprooted. Amazing what some wet heavy snow can do on leafy trees.

I pray for all of those with small children and senior citizens who have no way to stay at a hotel like we did for 2 nights. Our dog and cat both got presents for their trouble. Dobby our cat was lounging on the radiator in heaven. He got a new kitty condo. Mr. Smithers our very immature, 9 year old yellow lab got a Kong treat teaser (you know they gotta work to get the treat out) and 100% salmon treats (he is allergic to grain). Dobby likes these treats to so we are sharing the wealth.

I had every light on in the house for awhile today because I could. Thought of WDW and our beloved Beach Club as much as possible to get me through!

Has been an ordeal but a very memorable one. The "blackout of 2011" will be long remembered by my family and me!

Has anyone had any experience with Undercover Tourist?

We've used Undercover Tourist several times and have had great experiences. On our last trip in September, I had to change my dates which changed DD from a 9 year old junior to a 10 year old ticket. I had already opened the hermetically sealed plastic (which voids the return). I called them anyway and asked if I could exchange the ticket for an adult ticket and they honored the request. I shipped back my ticket and they shipped me an adult ticket and charged the difference between a child and adult ticket. Not only did they honor the request they were very nice and professional throughout. I wouldn't hesitate to use the again. They also come highly recommended by many DISers.

Use them worry free!

Was wondering how all the ADR's worked out? Especially the early CP. Figure that is getting harder to get as it becomes more popular. We've done it a couple times and really love it. How did the new reservation with $$$ go? Easy?

Ugh lol other than the fact that I couldn't book them online for the ones 180+ days out it went well. For some reason when I put my reservation number it, it found it, however when I would try and book a reservation, it said it was invalid. No problems booking over the phone though.
We got:
April 28th Akershus 6:30 PM (DD's 6th birthday)
April 29th 50's Prime Time 5:50pm
April 30th CMC 6:30pm
May 1st Crystal Palace 8:20am missed out on my 8:05
May 2nd CMC 9:25am (resort/DTD day...figured we might want to sleep in)
May 3rd 'Ohana 6:30 pm (my birthday)
May 5th Tusker House 10:05am
May 6th Le Cellier 12:45pm

After I made the reservations she took a credit card to hold for the restaurants that required it. She only had to take the info once, but then had to apply it to each one individually. Honestly the whole process took about 30 minutes...a lot longer then I would have hoped, but I'm happy with everything but the CP breakfast

As this is another surprise trip for the kids, it was very difficult being on the phone, trying to book dining reservations while getting them up and ready for school

Wifi still works! I'm here now and there's no bounce back offer in the room.

The ceiling fan in our room was on high with the pull chain missing. I kept forgetting to call and report it and I finally did yesterday. I'm so glad I did! We got to meet a hilarious crew from engineering and electrical when we came back to the room after lunch, and came back from MNSSHP to a brand new fan! Great service!

Party was so fun! Didn't feel overcrowded to us at all.

We spent yesterday morning at DHS, and the Christmas decor was already going up!

The Beach Club to us is HOME!! DH fell in love with it. Pretrip he kept talking about trying other resorts and such, but once we were there it was all about the Beach Club and he says he can't imagine staying anywhere else. He loved the access to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Our room was perfect, we were excited to get a king size bed and we had a juliet balcony, but we both fit out there fine. We could see Illuminations (through the tress) from the balcony which was awesome.

We ate 2 mornings at Cape May and 3 at Captain's Grill, both were good. DH loved SAB and went down the water slide at least 10 times while there. Beaches and Cream is a slice of heaven on earth. The best ice cream ever. Our mousekeeping was awesome and left us surprises every other day. We got to meet Teena who was super nice, and DH felt like he met a celebrity and was constantly looking for her to wave to her from then on. lol Kept asking if she was working, etc.

We kept calling the trip a once in a lifetime trip before we went, now DH calls it a twice in a lifetime (because he wants to go back next year). Oh we did have a phone book and got a picture of the coffee pot (we don't drink coffee or tea so I have no idea what make/model it was). I'll post pictures when I'm on my home computer. DH took over 1,200 pictures and videos when we were there.

Needless to say I hope it's ok I stick around in the thread for awhile as DH wants nothing to do with other resorts now and only has eyes for the Beach Club. He kept thanking me for doing all the research and spending so much time on the trip it was cute!

I paid our trip in full yesterday!!!!! WooHoo!!! Surprise upgrade to the BC that the kids do not know about (they think we are staying at POR). Trying to come up with clever ways to surprise them. We don't want them to know until we pull in on the magical express bus.
