Hi Heather- I'll change your dates

This is what I have for early December for the noodle swap.

1)sndral Dec 9-Dec 19, YC swaps with: (when)
1)Tinkerbell’s mama Dec 11- Dec 21 BC. swaps with
1)heatherbabydoll1 Dec 12-14, BCV (DS 13th BD)

Have the 3 of you worked out swap dates?

We did have something but then my dates changed. Sorry for all the changes but I am hopeing that I could get the noodles on the 12th because we are planning on enjoying the SAB the most on that day. If that is ok please PM me with contact info and I will give you my contact numbers.

Since we got free dining, we’ll also be trying seven new (to us!) table-service restaurants and would love to hear what you think of any of them:

Liberty Tree Tavern
Cape May Café
Via Napoli
Sanaa
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
Chef Mickey’s (character breakfast)
Biergarten

We really enjoyed Liberty Tree Tavern. So much so we went there twice on our last trip and have it booked for our upcoming trip. The food is good and the entire atmosphere is very relaxing. We like that it is served family style which is a nice change. It allowed for us all to eat as much as we wanted, and gave our picky son the opportunity to only eat what he likes, or to try small amounts of the other food.

WELCOME!!! :cheer2: :grouphug: party: :welcome:

The Biergarten: This is our absolute family favorite at EPCOT. Aside from having a zero amount of Princesses, unless you count the dirndl wearing waitresses, this place has a fun atmosphere and a great selection of food. On a trip years ago we were "burger and fries to death" due to budget reasons. The salad bar here was a refreshing respite and there were many types of veggie salads to choose from. A lot of people don't realize that you can get pretzel rolls here, round in shape unlike the pretzel roll logs served at Le Cellier. Having had both I can tell you they are identical except for the shape and we shamelessly bring zip lock bags to cram some extra in for an after park snack. If you have kids dining with you they will love the short white wurst, which is really just a hot dog, mildly flavored, with out all that food coloring. They also have a fresh selection of carved meats so this is the place that everyone can find something delectable at. Every so often the Biergarten band puts on a show of polkas and other favorites so this makes this experience even more enjoyable.

Happy to hear the review of the Biergarten. We have it booked for our trip and it is the one I'm looking forward to the most. Can't wait!

(This was my first multi-quote post - so exciting!)

Thanks for the restaurant reviews so far! But I'm mainly posting to look at my new signature and ticker. Soooooo excited!!

Be careful though with the family style servings. DS and I went to the bathroom and when we came back we found that DH had eaten the entire table's dessert for himself! It was a big bucket of apple pie and ice cream and he thought it was a single serving. He was ribbed unmercifully for it too....

I have not seen this anywhere on the thread, but I may have just overlooked it......

Does anyone know if all (most) of the YC CL rooms are connecting? When we were there in August we had a connecting lagoon view room and had an extremely noisy neighbor, so much so that I had to call the front desk about 1:00am one night, after they woke us up. They did quiet down after a visit from hotel security.

We're headed back to the YC next April for a few nights and will request a non-connecting room if any exist.

Thanks.

The best place to stand for Illuminations is on the bridge between the UK and France. It will be a five minute walk from BC.
Super! We'll try to find a spot around there.

In my experience, in non-summer months, SAB often opens at 10am. It does vary. You can always hang out at one of the quiet pools!
That's a good idea. I wonder if we could go in, even if it isn't officially open with the lifeguards yet (anyone tried)? Or is it a no-no because SAB is much more closely guarded than other resorts? I'm pretty sure we saw others at both AKL and Poly pools before 10 am.

You can't go in at all. It is locked when closed. SAB is actually a water park per FL Law. So you cannot access any area unless there are lifeguards on duty. When we were there just a few short weeks ago... sigh! It was open 10a-10p.

But really your average pool when the slide is closed is a quiet pool. SAB is just not your average pool.

Almost forgot:

:bday: Walt Disney World!!! party:

I did forget....Thanks Dee. Happy Birthday WDW! Hard to believe it's only 40yrs old. :wizard:

Welcome poohlover and all our new friends!

YAY!!! Finally.... We're going to Disney World NEXT month!!! I've been waiting well over a year to say that!!!!

Back to packing for the move...

Tick Tock, Tick Tock.....Hang in there Nannette. It'll be here before you know it. (And can't wait for live reports!)

Congrats! And have a blast starting tomorrow and good luck today with that "last 24 hours always go by so slow" challenge.

For the records ;) ; I just changed my reservation. Had one for a standard view CL room at BC since I really wanted to be in the area but even with my PIN it was kinda too expensive for this trip. Kept checking daily, but nothing avail. with my PIN. Luckily ran into a "last minute" promo with WDTC UK which offered basically 30% off any resort and roomtype available (which differs a lot from US availability and pricing). Crunches some numbers, looked at exchange rates and........:worship: Found I could book my dec 1st-6th dates at a pool/water view room at both BC or YC for the same price as a standard view room with my US PIN would've been if it had been available. Now I can stay within budget and really start to enjoy being booked at the BC! :cool1::rotfl2: OK, I gave up the CL but with the money saved I can easily pay for all of my food and drinks during my total of 17 nights at WDW, including anything I would've munched on from the lounge and have some $$ left for my planned shopping budget. :yay::woohoo:

Great planning and shopping there goofieslonglostsis.

No go on the early entry. SAB is very closely guarded :3dglasses. It's even guarded when it's open!

Thank you for posting these.

Some of their new ideas do not appeal to me at all. I get stressed figuring out my ADR's. I can't imagine having to figure out ride times that far in advance as well. It would be too much work for me not an asset.

Not sure I like not having to go into a checkin desk either. I actually look forward to that personal interaction.

Don't even get me started on Avatar as an attraction. Hopefully they can make it appealing. More appealing than the movie. We did not care for the movie much. It was okay but not as good as they hype had us believe it would be.

I hated the idea of the no rope drop at Epcot and then I read the reviews of it and felt much better. Now I actually hope it is a good thing. Hopefully all of these will be as well.

Just goes to show that diversity makes the world go round!
I sort of like the idea of reserving a fast pass time especially if only those guests staying @ WDW resorts can do this - makes the extra price WDW rooms cost v. off site more valuable, IMO. Plus think how this would thwart all those Brazilian tour group one person w/ hundreds of tickets getting fast pass situations oft complained of :rotfl:
I like the idea of knowing my room a few days ahead - we always arrive late and the front desk staff are tired (as are we) so I wouldn't miss them at all.
Loved Avatar the movie and don't know if Disney can do it justice unless they can design a ride where I am riding one of those flying creatures.

Just upgraded from PORS to YC for our Thanksgiving week vacation!! :cool1: Any special things we should not miss at this hotel?

We've never stayed in the Epcot area so anything different here is appreciated information. Our first whole day will be at the hotel I believe...or our last not positive how it will work best yet...getting into orlando at 9:30 am so we should be a the hotel early...plus we don't leave until 6 pm our last day.

Any suggestions appreciated!

I'm a bit confused, do you have park passes for one day less that your number of days @ WDW? If so, it doesn't cost much to add a day (up to 10 days total.) If it turns out your non park day is your arrival day, I believe you can still use SAB, so if you plan that be sure to pack swimsuits in your carry on luggage.

We did have something but then my dates changed. Sorry for all the changes but I am hopeing that I could get the noodles on the 12th because we are planning on enjoying the SAB the most on that day. If that is ok please PM me with contact info and I will give you my contact numbers.
Right now I'm to deliver them to tinkerbell's mama early in her stay, so I'll let you two decide if that needs to be changed. I keep HOPING someone will go the week ending 12/10 and want to exchange, so I don't have to do the bell services thing - BTW, since I am @ the YC, will the noodles being @ BC bell services be a problem pick up wise?

I don't think it should be a problem..... would it? MAYBE TEENA WOULD KNOW?

I think though, that with a good tip the problem might not be a problem anymore, especially if you pick them up in person as opposed to having them delivered to your room.

MM, I'll certainly post their bail, er, tip the CM, for their release from custody, er bell services, as early as I can and in person. @ least the cast @ YC won't be pointing @ me saying 'that's that weird woman who bailed the noodles (no offense Paul, Pastina, et al.) all vacation long.

Hmmm....another reason to come to the BC....Now there's going to be a run on the stock and we can all sell our 1 share and retire to a life of luxury!

Hi MickeezMeg and Thanks for updating the list Dee!

~MM

Thanks!! Soooo excited to visit YC for the first time!!! AAANNDD excited to be on this board with you all!!!

Nannette!!!....I just realized reading this that we'll be at Disney NEXT month too!!!! November has seemed so far away, but finally it's next month! :cool1::banana::cool1: That almost makes me sad though. I'm afraid it'll be here and gone before I know it. I mean, the anticipation of going and the planning is at least half the fun IMO.

I agree planning is a very big part of the trip for me... I solve that by planning another trip before I leave or this one or soon as I get home!!

Tick Tock, Tick Tock.....Hang in there Nannette. It'll be here before you know it. (And can't wait for live reports!)
Live reports will be posted here daily Mike!!

Now on that Disney shares topic... because you people posted that on here I ended up purchasing 1 share yesterday ;o) Thanks for the push now I can be a part of the Disney one share meet up!!!

Still packing in the Bronx...

~Nannette

Well, that makes it pretty hard to sneak in. Just kidding, I'm not sneaking in. :littleangel: Maybe we'll do a quick half-day at AK before leaving, but then that means no departure lunch at Beaches and Cream. We love AK, but since we are only going for 4 days, I didn't think we had the time. But if SAB doesn't open till 10 am, then maybe we should do EMH at AK.

Thanks again, this info really helps with the planning.

Yay we're on the list!!! Thank you :thanks: Now I have to keep my dd from seeing it, she thinks we're leaving on the 17th when actually we are going on her real bday the 16th. I can't wait to get her from school and say "We are going to Disney now!!!"
