Here is my last thing- tip for anyone who has an 8:05 ADR at Hollywood and vine on a normal park day. Get a cab!!! We didn't realize that there was no early transportation to DHS (boats start running an hour before opening) So we got to the boat dock at 7:00 and waited. After not seeing ant boats on the lake for quite awhile we decided to hoof it. Now my transportation guide said it was a nice 20 min walk. It's more like a 30 min hike or a 20min brisk hike (notice hike not a walk) We were ah... *glistening*:goodvibes by the time we got to Hollywood and vine and I ended up with the worst blisters on the soles of my feet from our hike as I wore shoes suitable for walking, stopping for a ride, then walking again and not hiking. :confused3 Anyways If you have time and are up a little workout before the park the walk is for you. If you think its just going to be a bit more than epcot or at least not wanting to glisten before you get in the park, you probably want to arrange other transportation. Side note the walk to epcot is awesome! Love having it that close.

Glad to see you enjoyed your stay! We'll be at the YC CL in November, and I have been wondering about the walk to DHS. Seems most people report a 15-minute walk, but I had a feeling they were remembering it through the veil of Disney magic. I appreciate your reality check. ;)

As someone who has done this walk in early November and the heat of June, I can tell you that the November walk is FAR more pleasant, even if it takes the same amount of time ;)

ETA: I forgot about Pixarmom's pirate surprise?! Pics PLEASE!!!!!!

We were there last week as well (8/20 - 26), in room 5231 (nice quiet location, but a hike to the lounge and elevators). Almost every CM we encountered at the YC was fantastic (our housekeeper was the exception - she did a good job, but was not friendly at all).

The Regatta Club CMs we really liked were Stephen, Virginia and Robin. Also Rashid, one of the Concierge managers was great in helping get a park ticket problem corrected quickly.

I have to agree with most of the comments about the food in the lounge. However, we really enjoyed the lobster salad and crab rangoon they served on Thursday evening. Everything else was ok, but nothing really special.

Too Funny we probably crossed paths a million times! We had the blond little 8 year old parading around in princess dresses or her Tinkerbell mickey ears, or both!! and an 11month old in a green stroller packed to the nines:rotfl: We kinda stood out on the CL floor with our entourage:lmao:

I seem to recall seeing somewhere on this thread a map of room locations. (Although, I could have dreamed of it too!) Any help on a posting number would be greatly appreciated. Visiting the YC for Thanksgiving and trying to find the Garden view CL room locations. Can't wait!:woohoo:Thanks to all.:flower3:

Ours overlooked the gazebo in the garden. Let me see if I can find that map and get the room numbers...

Looks like rooms 5148, 5150, 5152 and 5154 were the GV rooms in my hallway that faced the gazebo.

4th & 5th floor map, don't pay attention to the color key for room classifications. This was before they had the GV category.

Not fair posting No Way picture. I keep coming back to computer and looking!

Thanks Cinderumbrella and MickeyT! I knew I could find the answers from my fellow Disnuts!:thumbsup2 We had a 1st floor view of the Wedding Gazebo a few years ago and it was lovely. I can't wait.:flower3:

I emailed IPO a few weeks before our trip and requested a room with a gazebo view and close to the lounge and we were in room 5150. It was perfect!!

Now, while we are talking old maps from this site, can someone please tell me where the CL lounge is on the BC map?

It appears at the time this was put out, there was no CL on the 5th floor.

You're right - we probably did cross paths all week. I do recall seeing a little girl about 8yo in princess dresses a few times - most likely your DD. It was just me, my DW and DS 17 (he's taller than either one of us). We were usually in the lounge around 9:00 - 10:00am and then in and out in the evening. We all had a very tiring summer, so we were sleeping in and taking it easy. Out of the 5 full days we were there, I only went to the park (DHS) one day and DW only went to two parks. However, the last day we were there, DS took off and hit all four parks in one day - yes he was pretty tired when he finally made it back to the hotel.

Hi everyone! Just found this place....I just found out that my hubby's company has booked Yacht Club for his sales meeting in November!!! Free room and discounted tickets... How lucky can a girl get???:woohoo:

Anyway, Beach Club is my favorite resort to stay in so far, but we've never stayed in YC before. So here I am to find out more, and get geared up for the trip. Yipee!

That sounds fantastic! We needed a vacation like that after this one. We were up and out the door by 7:30 every morning and that was 6:30 are time, unheard of for my family. DH is sick and blaming our disney schedule  I have to give props to your Ds 4 parks in one day is very impressive.

Going to BCR for first time in a couple of weeks. What is something really good at Beaches and Cream - besides the kitchen sink? Not ambitious enough for that. I LOVE peanut butter and caramel. And, what's good for little ones? Any suggestions? Thanks!

It was several years ago, but my nephew and I both loved the brownie a la mode. Good brownie. You can customize it -- as I recall, he asked for no whipped cream and I asked for no cherry on top.

Pixarmom - great pics as usual!

How did you make out with the pirate surprise?

Robyn and Cinderumbrella, thanks so much for asking! First, more thanks to Robyn and YCFAN for these wonderful ideas and the advice regarding the process with IPO. I told the boys about both of you and how you were responsible for the ideas and they are very appreciative.

It was wonderful!!! I really can't say enough positive and wonderful things about the BWI/BC/YC IPO. They were so helpful - great attention to detail, sent price estimates, confirmed the prices, went all over the place to get the items, came up with additional ideas that were great. In the end, we had pirate Mickey ear hats, pirate Mickey plush, strings of beads, pirate medallion necklaces, swords, rice krispie treats and treasure boxes with pirate maps, eye patches, pirate earrings, etc. But most of all, they were so excited about all of this - especially Omar. Omar explained how it all works and how they would work with the CL CMs to set it up on arrival day. Yay IPO! They had enough time after we checked in to get the items in the room before we walked in for the first time (we were at lunch.) Unfortunately, no photos of the display - the boys were too excited so the display lasted about 2 seconds, at which point they started sword fighting!

Now for the outstanding CL CMs at BWI! (That's where we stayed first, before the cruise and before BC.) We asked around to find out who to thank for setting everything up in the room so nicely and we found her: Jackie! Jackie is really amazing. She retrieved all the items from IPO and arranged them in our room. But the best part was her enthusiasm and excitement regarding our surprise. She really shared in the fun with us, as did so many CL CMs at BWI. We also love Pete and all the wonderful CMs in the lounge who really engaged the kids and were always so cheerful. Everyone at BWI went above and beyond and even when one CM made a mistake with our TL tickets, we could seriously care less because they were so friendly and welcoming.

OK - so that's not about BC, but BC, YC and BWI share the same IPO, so hopefully that's helpful to some readers here! And at BC, we didn't get to see Bret (an outstanding BC CL CM!) this trip, but we did see Neil (another great CL CM) who once again went above and beyond to deliver a bag of the taffy candies our boys love so much. Yay Neil!

Stayed at BC last week for the first time, we loved it!! So nice to walk to Epcot and be so close to DHS. We went over to the Boardwalk a couple of times.

Mousekeeping was good. Staff at the pool was very nice and helpful. Movie and marshmellows on the beach were awesome too! SAB was as awesome as we heard. I wish we would have had more time there as Satruday the pool shut down most of the afternoon. We left Sunday afternoon to head north following Irene.

Question, what is the difference between YC and BC? Seems like you can have a full balcony at YC where as at the BC you are more than likely not going to have one. No qick service place at YC, but you can quickly reach the Marketplace. Just wondering if there is something else missing.

Thanks!

We just returned home from a week away in Ontario and I'm getting caught up on all the postings. So nice to hear from the recent travellers!

Couldn't help walking around the resort we were at (far from WDW) spotting unintentional hidden mickeys. :)

Pretty much covers it. Only other thing is that the lobby of the BC has TEENA a couple of days a week when she's not out taking care of Princess Lilly.

If anyone has a September activities schedule, could you send it to me? For those of you staying club level, I think IPO will e-mail you a schedule upon request.

You can e-mail me at beachclubdee@yahoo.com

Looky what I snagged for an e-mail address!!!

Thanks!

Dee
