I did a little sniffing around and noticed that a lot of resorts are pretty booked-up the week of 9/18-9/24 which is when we'll be at the YC. At first hubby was all freaked out when I mentioned it. Poor thing. I had to calm him down with some reasoning: 1. If the crowds get too bad park hours will get extended which is not a bad thing. ~and~ 2. We're booked at the Yacht Club. Who cares if the parks are crowded! :thumbsup2

We're 45 minutes away!!! Dropping off my pups at best friends then headed to Beach Club for our first club level stay!! We are so excited!

Hope to meet Teena on Sunday. Hope I'm not too star struck! Again Dee, or anyone else if you need some sleuth work done while we are there let me know. I'll be checking the Dis daily...

Oh I am writing a food review so feel free to stop over and read. There is a link below!

When you are driving you give your name to the guard at the gate. They will check it off their list and notify CL that a guest is arriving. Someone from CL will then come down and meet you as you are unloading your luggage.

Thanks Robyn:banana:

Wow I really can not wait to be at the beach club!!!!! Just waited on thephone for 45 minutes to book the french regional lunch at bistro de paris..anyone ever been. I hope it's good. Bistro is the only world showcase restaurant I have not eaten in so I figured this would be perfect and something different to do.

Have a fantastic time!!! If you get a chance, let us know what the pool hours are this week. Thanks!

How many of you prefer BC over YC? And for those of you that prefer YC over BC, would you book BC over YC if it saved you $23/night (same room category)? It would be about $90ish savings for our 4-night stay.

Looking forward to our 1st BC stay. I prefer the decor of BC, it's more my style. But I did agonize over the possibility of not getting a full balcony at BC.
YC all rooms have them. It's a little thing but important to me.
In the end, I decided to risk it and stay BC, with room request of full balcony.

To save $90- that would make me think of switching. But really, they are both great resorts, and I'm sure I'd be happy at YC too. No bad choices here. :thumbsup2

By Saturday we'll be checking into POR for 7 nights, then really excited about our move to BC for 1st stay here! Wish all 12 nights now could be at BC :rotfl:
Almost there!

We will be arriving for our first Beach Club visit on 10 September (We have been to WDW only once before) We are from Australia and I can't quite get my head around the expected temperatures. What I really want to know is will the weather be nice for swimming and does it get cool enough at night that we should bring long pants?

I am getting pretty excited - we leave in one week four our Disney Med cruise!!

We go every year at the end of September, the last 2 weeks actually. It is hot enough for swimming, too hot for pants. We always bring them but never wear them. The humidity is still really high until the last few days of the month. Bring one light pair & a sweater/sweatshirt for the restaurants cause they are chilly.

When we went to the BC in June That superstar known as Teena told us the resort was booked solid. We also were there during Star Wars Week so you know the crowds were good.

Let me tell you that both the BC and the parks did not have that overwhelmingly crowded feel! Disney does a great job handling crowds and the Beach Club has that intimate feel despite public spaces that are large enough to handle larger numbers. I have to say that I think the designers did a great job with planning the common spaces in a way where they just absorb people. We were at the pool many times during peak hours and we were always able to find a few chairs together. We may have had to look but we found them after very little trouble. The fact that we never stopped long enough to sit in the chairs made us realize that we only needed 1 chair to plop our stuff down onto before we hit the pool.

*Helpful reminder ALERT* DO NOT TAKE VALUABLES to the pool. Keep them in your room or get a locker which is located by Hurricane Hannah's at the pool.

I hope that helps!

I noticed this as well as those are my dates. even in rack rate I was finding no availability in any value or mod, and deluxe was 2 to 3 times the rate that I paid during summer sale dates.

However from what I can tell the majority of this is free dining and families without school age kids. So little kids rides and resturants are busy but general park crowds and thrill rides not so much.

I'm back ... computer got a virus and we had to take it to be fixed. And this morning they removed the tube from my kidney. Doctor said the "boulder" is not two small rocks. He said I could pass them this week or next year ... but to take my pain meds with me to Jeanne's. For joy!

I'm planning on returning to work this Sunday and Monday. I really missed seeing so many of the dissers the past two weeks and I'm really sad about it.

Seconding this. My sister had her iPad stolen from the AKL pool area earlier this year. Totally her fault -- she brought it and left it unattended -- but still crappy. And if you leave valuables in your room, make sure you lock them up there, too. :thumbsup2

Teena - Glad the procedures, meds and computer AV all worked! We'll be checking in on Sunday and look forward to meeting you then.

Teena - glad to hear you are feeling better. Sorry that I will miss seeing you when you are visiting your daughter, but I know you'll be much happier to see Lily than anyone else in the world - or the "World". Enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

Teena I am so glad you are feeling better and can still travel! We are planning on stopping to see you on Monday! Can't wait to get to Disney.

Hey Teena! Glad to hear that boulder has broken up! Now pass those two babies out of there!

The good news is you get to take your Princess Lilly/Jeanne trip!

Woo hoo!!

P.S. My very good friend is staying at the BC from now through the 22nd. I'm going to make sure he pops over and says hello Sunday or Monday. I call him "Cully" so I'll make sure he identifies himself to you. Great guy!
