2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part II

After reading up a bit, worried about the distance between the deluxe rooms and the club lounge, combined with the club lounge space. Now, I don't expect to use it much other than breakfast but the best thing about the Polynesian club level was my son's ability (especially as an only) to meet and play with other kids in the lounge area. It was actually why I booked club level again--plus it comes with all the deluxe rooms--despite my less than rosy view of the service. Thought it would be worth it since we'll have two days when it's just us and I know he'll want to meet some other kids to hang out with.

I guess there's always the pool, so it's not a total loss if the lounge at beach club isn't fun, but does make me reconsider its value.

Anyone else going to be there in mid September 11-14 with active young boys, mine is 4, that like to play with other kids?

I was wondering, for those of you who have flown to DW and stayed at BC, what other resorts share the magical express bus with the BC? I asked this over on the transportation board and received an answer of depends on what resorts are needed at the time you arrive. I am trying to surprise my kids.

Hi Christine!

I know this can vary significantly, but for our two most recent BC stays (February 2011 and July 2010), magical express stopped at Port Orleans and Boardwalk before heading over to BC. Again, it sounds like it can change based on need, but it followed that pattern for our two most recent stays.

Good luck with your surprise - how fun!

Thank you, trying to decided what to tell them if they see us getting in the wrong line (they think we are staying at POP). Guess I will just tell them this is the line the CM told me to get in.

Hi all,

Well our August trip is approaching quickly and after a lenghty noodle custody battle which included many lawyers, name calling, and even the threat of taking the noodles out of state, I am happy to announce that a visitation agreement has been reach.(HAHA). Tortoni will be leaving the noodles at Bell Services in my name which I will pick up on 8/11. I will have the noodles until late afternoon on 8/12 and at that time I will hand them off to Mom3girls. She will have the noodles for 8/12,13,14,15 and I will receive the noodles back on 8/16 and will keep them until our departure on 8/19. If anyone wants the noodles late on the day on 8/18 I would love to pass them off instead of checking them into bell service on 8/19.

Chris

:lmao:

Marlton Mom I'm wondering if my noodles can join your noodles at the end of my trip :goodvibes Maybe they'd enjoy some new friends?
I don't know how much of a hassle this would be? We leave BC Sept 1 :sad1:
I was planning on just asking a family on our last day if they'd like them, but then what will happen to my noodles  So maybe if they can be passed around would be a better fate  We will have 2 voluptious noodles I plan on getting while we're in Ft. Lauderdale pre WDW visit.

We are so excited--we arrive one week from today.:banana::banana::banana: Checked out the Cupid Shuffle/YC/BC on YouTube--really cute.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

The Noodle Family Soap Opera is histarical. :happytv::happytv: Will be on the lookout!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Here's a question which I hope you veteran's at YC can answer, please!! I just booked a special tour at MK for 9:30 am on 8/4. Early Magic Hours are on that day as well. The gal in reservations said, "YC has an exclusive bus to MK starting at 7 am and will get us there in plenty of time." Can anyone confirm?? :confused3:confused3 My only concern with staying in the EPCOT area is the bus transportation.

Sorry, but here's another question--has anyone ever received a free upgrade from a garden view to the next level? :wizard::wizard:Would be interested in the possiblity of a water view if it were available. Is water view the same a Cresent Lake view? TIA for clairying.:goodvibes:goodvibes

4 more sleeps for me. :wizard:

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

How exciting! I'm getting so jealous of all of you leaving in the next few weeks... still over a month to go for us!:surfweb:

Sounds good! :thumbsup2

Also sounds like somebody is drinking a little Pino Grigio and watching too many telanovelas on Univision! I can just see it now.... "As the Noodles Boil" staring Antonio Bandaras, Gloria Estefan and Charo as the sensible lifeguard.

Aye carumba!

Marlton Mom

Ok, now I'm not sure what I want to watch more. Old Spice Guy vs. Fabio, or As the Noodles Boil!

Just the idea of a noodle "coochie coochie coochie".... omg, it's PERFECT!:lmao:

Just giving everyone a heads up!

We are getting dangerously close to 250 pages, that magical number where we become too big for our own britches.

I did learn my lesson and backed up the thread last weekend, so if we are closed without notice, we should be up and running in no time.

I may contact the forum moderators to see what best process is. I'll certainly keep you all posted.

Dee, you are awesome, it seems like you have to go through this every other month! Thanks so much for keeping on top of it and giving us all a great place to learn, chat, and stay "afloat" with the latest noodle-news!

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. My Dad is scheduled for surgery today to replace heart valve. I appreciate all the support and will update you.

Love, BLTtinkerbell .

Our prayers are wtih you and your family.

Or you could do a double surprise. Once you get on the bus, if they list a value resort, say you're going there! Then, when they pass it... they'll be so surprised!

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for this, and in fact was wondering the same myself!

Time is coming to PIF!!! I can't wait, just wish it would be here already...I am also envious of everyone going within the next couple of weeks...

Sorry, but here's another question--has anyone ever received a free upgrade from a garden view to the next level?

I think so! Last year, the APs we purchased for two WDW trips sent us on four trips instead - they are sneaky! For a quick trip last summer, we booked standard view (tried to switch to CL before the trip, but there was no availability.) Because the trip was so quick and we were ready to take any room BC assigned to us without discussion, we used on-line check-in. This was the only time we've ever used it, because we were truly ready to grab our keys and go.

When we arrived in our room, it looked like an upgrade to us! But given the grab-and-go nature of on-line check-in, I never confirmed the category when were at BC. But I'm not sure which category it was, or which category it would be now.

HI:

I noticed that our trip was not added to the front page. can our trip please be added?

We are going on our first cruise on the Dream from Nov 13-17th and then booked the YC CL for the 17th-19th

We are excited for our 1st Disney experience ever!

Thanks

I just added your dates to page 1.

Nannette, please add this trip to your November list next time you update. Thanks!

I keep reading differing opinions.

Online check in is coming up for us....Yes or No?

We will be checking out of the Swan and heading straight over to BC to check in. Probs just leave luggage in vehicle until room is ready.

Thanks:goodvibes

This is from the Q&A on the first page of the thread, and I think it's a great description:

Should I checkin online in advance or wait until I am at the resort?

As noted in the responses above, if you don't have any questions and if you are going to just grab your keys and go, then you are great candidate for the online checkin. If there is a possibility that you will ask for a room change because you are not satisfied with the one that has been assigned to you, then you should wait until you arrive at the resort to check in.

We usually wait until we're at the resort to check in for a few reasons: 1) the regular check-in line is usually either very short or there is no line; 2) if we're staying CL, we check in up on the 5th floor; and 3) we've been requesting a full balcony, so I like to ask about that and offer to wait for a room with a full balcony if one will become available later in the day.

The only time we used on-line check-in was that quick trip last summer I mentioned in my recent post. It was "grab-and-go" and we weren't going to ask for a room with a full balcony or anything else.

Lol the one time I didn't go to page one and I got busted:lmao: Thanks very much for your suggestion. We are staying CL. I would prefer a full balcony and we are not doing the parks this trip so I will take your advice and wait.:thumbsup2

I came over here to ask a similar question! We're going to be arriving late for check-in (after spending one and only one day at IOA to see Harry Potter and the superheroes:yay:), so I was wondering if there would even BE any rooms for me to haggle over at that time if I wasn't happy with the room.

Does anyone have any thoughts? My only request is for a full balcony, if that helps with your thought process. :)

This is really our only request also. I cannot remember if their is a place in online check in to make this request?

Last summer we stayed at BCV and I did online check-in. I had 2 requests: Epcot view and NOT 1st floor (I'm afraid of critters and also afraid of my children deciding to go for a stroll :lmao: ). We arrived at the check-in desk after 8pm. The kids and I were so exhausted that I no longer cared. Imagine my smile when I entered our 4th floor 1 bedroom villa, pulled back the curtain in the living room, and saw Spaceship Earth staring back at me.
I've been told that they make the room assignments a few days in advance. If a full balcony is a deal-breaker (my requests were just wishes and not "necessities"), don't do online check-in. If it's a preference but you'll be ok either way, do it!

I'm still a little unclear on the process of shutting down a thread because past versions of this thread have been closed down and continued, closed down with no access and I think there is still one floating out there, unused but still open.

Happy Planning!!

We're heading down 8/22 and are booked in a studio at Animal Kingdom for 7 nights. I was thinking of switching to the Yacht Club since I have heard such great things about it. We're a family of 4, 2 kids (5, and almost 2). We love AKL and have stayed there several times. What would you do??

I'm so torn of which hotel to choose, I keep going back and forth....

My biggest concerns are the crowds at the pool and lack of counter service..

Thank you for any input!!:)

Hi BLTtinkerbell. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. My dad had a heart valve replacement several years ago, and I remember how difficult that was for our family. But it went well and he's currently in good health - he and my mom just stayed with us at BC earlier this year and kept up with our three active boys quite well! (Although every once in a while they would disappear into World Showcase or the BC club lounge - I'm not sure you will find a bigger fan of BC CL than my dad - he's hooked!)

Wishing your dad a successful surgery and speedy recovery.
