Hi,
I have yet to work out how to tell my husband that I would like to change our 1 and only "full balcony please" request to "Matthew McConaughty view" :rotfl2: but maybe I can just surprise him :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We have one question that hopefully some of you 'regulars' may be able to answer - "What are the poolside activities like - has anyone done Mickey tie die?" Our 8 yo DD is interested and as we will be staying for 16 nights we should find time to squeeze this in:laughing:

Thanks ever so much,

When requesting the Matthew McCon-naughty view be sure to specify "rear" view or "front" view.... :rolleyes1

As for the pool activities I did play Volley-Beach-Ball in the pool with the whole gang and I volunteered as a victim in the water balloon target game. When I volunteered to be ballooned The recreation staff asked which one of the kids was my child, so he could have the first throw.... I had to tell them that my son was back in the room asleep and it was just my (lunatic) self playing the pool games.

Your daughter is going to love all the dancing and the pool games that the staff coordinates with anyone (apparently ;)) who wishes to play. I can't speak for the tie dye and other things but I'm sure she will just love what ever she connects with at the pool! I know I did!

PS. load up a "Cupid Shuffle" dance tutorial on You Tube or some place on the web and teach your daughter how to do this easy dance before you leave. This is the Dance that the Lifeguards do for the shift change in the afternoon and they want everyone to dance with them... She will just love being able to do this with all the other kids... Boys and Girls!

Hi all,

Well our August trip is approaching quickly and after a lengthy noodle custody battle which included many lawyers, name calling, and even the threat of taking the noodles out of state, I am happy to announce that a visitation agreement has been reach.(HAHA). Tortoni will be leaving the noodles at Bell Services in my name which I will pick up on 8/11. I will have the noodles until late afternoon on 8/12 and at that time I will hand them off to Mom3girls. She will have the noodles for 8/12,13,14,15 and I will receive the noodles back on 8/16 and will keep them until our departure on 8/19. If anyone wants the noodles late on the day on 8/18 I would love to pass them off instead of checking them into bell service on 8/19.

Chris

Sounds good! :thumbsup2

Also sounds like somebody is drinking a little Pino Grigio and watching too many telanovelas on Univision! I can just see it now.... "As the Noodles Boil" staring Antonio Bandaras, Gloria Estefan and Charo as the sensible lifeguard.

Aye carumba!

I pulled the trigger on extending our trip and we have decided to try out the Beach Club. Long ago my husband and I were walking around the World shortly after our marriage and said this was the resort we wanted to stay at when we visited Disney World again and, after a not-so-great Polynesian trip in December (where I switched resorts about five times before we left), I've decided to give Beach Club and a split stay with Bay Lake Tower a go and see if our initial instincts were right, or if Disney resorts in general just aren't for us.

So, I've booked a Beach Club deluxe club level room. Does anyone have a link to any room photos? What sort of view should I expect? Any chance of seeing Epcot fireworks from the room?

Also, it will be just my son and myself for the first two nights and then, on the last night, my friend and her two kids will join us, then we'll all move to a Bay Lake Tower two-bedroom the next day. Right now, all of our names are on the reservation, but they need to take Magical Express from airport at different time than we do, since we are arriving on different days (from different states, too). How do I arrange that? Can IPO set it up?

I'm nervous and excited, since I am treating my friend, who is a Disney vet, but has never flown before (she's working to overcome a lifelong fear in order to do this) OR stayed deluxe (let alone club level), to this trip and I want it to be really special for all of us. We've been planning for over a year and we went round and round about off-site or on, before I finally decided to give the whole Disney immersion thing one more shot. This Beach Club part is a bonus she doesn't yet know about. (She was going to stay in value first night.)

Just call Magical Express and give them the info they need as to who is arriving and leaving on which days. I had to do this for my trip in Feb and they had no issues helping me out.

Hi there! I just booked 1 night at BC post cruise in Oct and 6 nights yc cl in May. Were doing a split with poly. I wanted to try out the resort in Oct to see if I can keep track if my overactive 7 year old at that pool. Hes an excelllent swimmer he just has energy x 100( thats a nice way of saying is a little hyperactive). If it's too difficult will have to switch to BWI In May:sad2:My question is do they provide sand toys at the pool or can you bring your own. He loves to build and I know that would keep him busy for hours and give us some time to relax.

I talked to someone at WDW just last week about the ME. When we go in Feb., my mom and her three sisters are sharing a room and flying in from 4 different states on two different days, and the CM told me it was no problem!

We were up to our ears in sand toys during our last visit because we purchased kids' meals at Hurricane Hanna's on arrival day. I ordered a kids' meal, too, so that's a total of four kids meals and four sand pails with shovels.

Then at SAB, there are usually a bunch of these pails scattered around, so the kids are all playing with them. Bottom line - we don't bring sand toys, but we usually leave many behind! So although you can bring your own, we haven't done that.

If you are willing to stick with your energetic 7-year-old (we do that with our kids) SAB will be a ton of fun and there is a lot of ground to cover! If you are looking for some time to relax and he enjoys the sand and the shallow areas of the pool, the zero depth entry kiddie area or the small slide at the base of the pirate ship might work for you.

I ran into this last year, different flights, same day. I think I called DME (which is a different number from CRO) and gave them the flight information for each name. They will send all of the yellow luggage tags and DME vouchers to the address of the primary guest and then you can give (or mail in my case) the ones that your friend will need to her after they arrive. Hope this helps, don't know if IPO can help, perhaps. If you still have concerns you might post your question on the transportation forum here on the dis..

Just giving everyone a heads up!

We are getting dangerously close to 250 pages, that magical number where we become too big for our own britches.

I'm still a little unclear on the process of shutting down a thread because past versions of this thread have been closed down and continued, closed down with no access and I think there is still one floating out there, unused but still open.

I did learn my lesson and backed up the thread last weekend, so if we are closed without notice, we should be up and running in no time.

I may contact the forum moderators to see what best process is. I'll certainly keep you all posted.

Thanks for looking out for the thread (and all us fans of the thread!). Your work on this is much appreciated! :thumbsup2:goodvibes

Hello! SAB hours vary significantly, based on a variety of factors. We've seen very different schedules based on weather, crowds and time of year. Last summer, SAB was open until 11pm, and I believe summer guests this year have been reporting similar closing times. I'd suggest checking with the lifeguards when you arrive - we've found that the lifeguards have more up-to-date information than the front desk. The quiet pools are open later, but we haven't been swimming past 11pm, so I'll leave that to someone with personal experience (and I remember reading a recent report on that!)

As for movies, we rely on buildabettermousetrip.com, which typically posts movie schedules for the month on the 1st or 2nd of each month. I know Dee checks those regularly, and usually posts the YC/BC movie schedule on the first page of this thread each month.

Hope that helps a bit! :wizard:

Yes, this does help. Thank you. I have to start searching for quiet pool information. It's coming up so quickly :yay: I'm just taking care of the small details now.

A few (well maybe more than a few now since this thread moves so fast) pages ago there was a picture posted that showed the quiet pool closed at midnight. However, with no fence around, I would imagine that you could go for a dip as long as the hotel staff didn't bother you. Don't know if they turn off the jets in the hot tubs though. And check the first page for movies. Dee will have them there as soon as they are available. She's the best at keeping everyone up to date.

Thank you so much. I am hoping that Rapunzel is playing. I haven't seen it yet. I am the only Princess in my house and, of course, the pirates did not want to see it. (I have older, salty, pirates in my house. pirate:pirate:pirate:

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. My Dad is scheduled for surgery today to replace heart valve. I appreciate all the support and will update you.

Love, BLTtinkerbell .

Amy, I know the temptation is to request a specific room but Dee's point is one that many (including our resident expert) has made, they can't give you a room someone else is staying in. Let them know what one or two items are important to you. Then, don't do on-line check in. When you arrive, if there is one room you really want, ask if it's available. If not, then make sure the room you are getting has what you really want. Since you are at YC, you can rest easy knowing you do not have to ask for full balcony. Happy planning

thanks for the information. i will request items that are important instead of a specific room.

HI:

I noticed that our trip was not added to the front page. can our trip please be added?

We are going on our first cruise on the Dream from Nov 13-17th and then booked the YC CL for the 17th-19th

We are excited for our 1st Disney experience ever!

Thanks

I was wondering, for those of you who have flown to DW and stayed at BC, what other resorts share the magical express bus with the BC? I asked this over on the transportation board and received an answer of depends on what resorts are needed at the time you arrive. I am trying to surprise my kids.

Thinking about your dad today. :goodvibes

Also, I am checking the weather obsessively for this weekend and next week. :crazy2: Looks like it's shaping up okay but in reality I know the forecast doesn't mean much! :headache: Here's hoping for good weather for everyone's trips!
