Got home an hour ago. What a surprise the Dis Meet was. It turned into a "Nanny" Baby Shower for Princess Lily.

Pictures will be posted as soon as some of the attendees get home from their Y&B vacations. As most of you know, I'm not a camera person.

And the food: chocolate covered strawberries, the best chocolate cake ever from private dining ... Bob already ate a third of it when I walked in the door, champagne and cookies ... I was soooooo surprised and touched. You are all so very special and so thoughtful. I can't wait to get all the lovely gifts out to Vegas (August 23rd). I immediately called Jeanne and told her about it all. And there were some very special presents (pictures & frames, brag book) for Pop-Pop and Nanny too so everything will not be going to Vegas.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm very lucky to have met so many wonderful friends here. Working for Mickey and meeting so many wonderful people at the same time ... it doesn't get much better than that!!!!

Sounds like an amazing night! Robyn did a great job coordinating this, and thanks to everyone who helped out.

So sorry I missed out on the yummy goodies. But then, FlatDee would not be so Flat anymore!

I know that someone, somewhere has already asked this but I'll ask anyway. Does SAB close before midnight? Are the quiet pools open later? Are the hot tubs open past mid-night? We are midnight swimmers. Also, where would I to to find the movie schedule for the beach movies for August? Thanks.

A few (well maybe more than a few now since this thread moves so fast) pages ago there was a picture posted that showed the quiet pool closed at midnight. However, with no fence around, I would imagine that you could go for a dip as long as the hotel staff didn't bother you. Don't know if they turn off the jets in the hot tubs though. And check the first page for movies. Dee will have them there as soon as they are available. She's the best at keeping everyone up to date.

And to our favorite "nanny" and "pop pop", congratulations. You deserve it.

Hi can someone recommend a decent standard CL room at the YC. we are booked for our 1st disney trip in November and I was thinking of requesting 5163 or 5199 thanks

Amy, I know the temptation is to request a specific room but Dee's point is one that many (including our resident expert) has made, they can't give you a room someone else is staying in. Let them know what one or two items are important to you. Then, don't do on-line check in. When you arrive, if there is one room you really want, ask if it's available. If not, then make sure the room you are getting has what you really want. Since you are at YC, you can rest easy knowing you do not have to ask for full balconey. Happy planning

Thank you Teena, for all you do. You (and your growing family) are so special to so many people.:cloud9:

Thank you Disney for creating an enviroment where these types of relationships could happen.:grouphug:

Thank you DIS (and Dee) for bringing all these relationships together in one place!:surfweb:

This sounds wonderful-so glad some pixie dust came your way!!

I pulled the trigger on extending our trip and we have decided to try out the Beach Club. Long ago my husband and I were walking around the World shortly after our marriage and said this was the resort we wanted to stay at when we visited Disney World again and, after a not-so-great Polynesian trip in December (where I switched resorts about five times before we left), I've decided to give Beach Club and a split stay with Bay Lake Tower a go and see if our initial instincts were right, or if Disney resorts in general just aren't for us.

So, I've booked a Beach Club deluxe club level room. Does anyone have a link to any room photos? What sort of view should I expect? Any chance of seeing Epcot fireworks from the room?

Also, it will be just my son and myself for the first two nights and then, on the last night, my friend and her two kids will join us, then we'll all move to a Bay Lake Tower two-bedroom the next day. Right now, all of our names are on the reservation, but they need to take Magical Express from airport at different time than we do, since we are arriving on different days (from different states, too). How do I arrange that? Can IPO set it up?

I'm nervous and excited, since I am treating my friend, who is a Disney vet, but has never flown before (she's working to overcome a lifelong fear in order to do this) OR stayed deluxe (let alone club level), to this trip and I want it to be really special for all of us. We've been planning for over a year and we went round and round about off-site or on, before I finally decided to give the whole Disney immersion thing one more shot. This Beach Club part is a bonus she doesn't yet know about. (She was going to stay in value first night.)

How awesome is that! What a great group of friends and certainly well deserved!

Sounds like a wonderful Dis meet/shower Teena. :thumbsup2

1 week from today we'll be leaving for Florida :goodvibes I'm pretty much packed aside from last minute stuff.
2 weeks in Ft. Lauderdale visiting family & friends, 2 days on Gulf coast, then 13 nights at WDW :yay:

It sounds like an amazing Dis visit/Baby Shower! How wonderful. This group is an amazing group of people.

It also makes this news even harder. Last night with some Disney digging I found an amazing deal on a Magic Kingdom View-Atrium Club room at the Contemporary. So, this morning our TA switched our reservations. We actually ended up saving $300 to move away from BC. I am so sad to not be staying here since I spent 5 months planning on a BC magical vacation but I know with 2 toddlers being close to the MK will be nice and the view from the room will have my DD hooked I am sure.

I hope I can still lurk around here since I already told DH to start planning for our trip back to BC!

And there is now a GV CL room open for August 18-23rd

Welcome, coopersmom! I know you were disappointed in Poly, so I really hope you enjoy BC. We've stayed at Poly and BC many times each and we've always enjoyed both (our most recent stay at Poly was January of this year and our most recent BC stay was February of this year.) But BC is definitely our favorite.

In February, we stayed in a BC deluxe cl room and loved it. It was on the 4th floor and had a huge balcony - huge! But not all deluxe cl rooms are the same, so if certain things are important to you (like a full balcony) be sure to add those requests. The deluxe room decor is identical to the standard room decor, so the photos on the first page of this thread and allears.net are representative of the decor. So think about that, but with much, much more space around the beds, the daybed, the sinks, etc. Our daybed was in a little alcove with a coffee table in front. And we had a little tiled hallway leading into the room - great for storing the stroller out of the way and lining up the shoes as the kids entered the room. We had a separate cabinet for the fridge and food items near the daybed/sitting area, a tall chest of drawers near the bathroom and some additional drawer space under the TV. It was enough space for our family of five to unpack entirely. Our view was of the quiet pool and we could see the lake from the corner of the balcony - it was very nice.

While the deluxe rooms are on a different floor from the lounge, we didn't mind at all. I know the lounge at BC is smaller than lounges at other resorts, and I understand it does not have the "great view" factor, but we really enjoyed it. The CMs were friendly and helpful, the service was great, we had positive experience with other guests and we didn't find the lounge crowded. (We always ate breakfast at 7am sharp, so no crowds at that time.) They have a little kids' area set up in the corner.

Not sure about Magical Express, but I think Amanda and others here have some experience with different arrival times.

I can relate in not being thrilled with Poly CL (or Poly period) and in fact switched during my stay back to the Yacht club CL
you will LOVE both of your choices!! I love love love Yacht and Beach Cl and area.
We just came back from Contemporary in May and stayed in the Towers of the Contemporary(not the new building) and LOVED it!! THe rooms are HUGE and the convience was wonderful.
My Favorite hotel after staying almost at every Disney Resort is the Yacht club!!

Hi all,

Well our August trip is approaching quickly and after a lenghty noodle custody battle which included many lawyers, name calling, and even the threat of taking the noodles out of state, I am happy to announce that a visitation agreement has been reach.(HAHA). Tortoni will be leaving the noodles at Bell Services in my name which I will pick up on 8/11. I will have the noodles until late afternoon on 8/12 and at that time I will hand them off to Mom3girls. She will have the noodles for 8/12,13,14,15 and I will receive the noodles back on 8/16 and will keep them until our departure on 8/19. If anyone wants the noodles late on the day on 8/18 I would love to pass them off instead of checking them into bell service on 8/19.

Hi,
We have been reading this board for months but today felt we just had to post...... Our tickets have arrived:banana: In 2 weeks and 3 days we will be checking in to the Beach Club for the very first time:cool1:
I have yet to work out how to tell my husband that I would like to change our 1 and only "full balcony please" request to "Matthew McConaughty view" :rotfl2: but maybe I can just surprise him :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
We have had such fun planning this trip and we can't thank you all enough for all of the hints and tips (and laughs) that you given us. We cannot wait to get to Disney, to stay at the Beach Club, to see SAB, to meet Teena and to try one of those slushies that you all talk about.

We have one question that hopefully some of you 'regulars' may be able to answer - "What are the poolside activities like - has anyone done Mickey tie die?" Our 8 yo DD is interested and as we will be staying for 16 nights we should find time to squeeze this in:laughing:

Thanks ever so much,

So sorry to hear that you won't be enjoying the ameneties of the BC for your upcoming trip, but it does sound like you got a spectacular opportunity.

Yes, please continue to hang out here with us. You'll be back someday!!!
