Check this site once you look at the room area you want to be in.

I just wanted to say thank you to Docco for posting this likn on here. The site is very helpful in seeing what the different room views are.

Looks like most of the water view rooms with the exception of the few overlooking the quiet pool (and a couple of odd ones that appear to look out at other rooms:confused3) give at least some view of the lagoon.

Once again this is why I love this board I find so much helpful info on here.

We will be at the YC- CL from Nov 11-18. This is our first time attending the Food & Wine.

If I find a wine that I like, can I buy bottles and have them sent back to our room or sent home?

Almost down to double digits!!!!

Heather hope your starting to feel a little better after your surgery- I was in pain for about a week after my surgery.

Teena, we need more pictures of the little princess!!

Good morning YC/BC lovers

I asked this question a few pages back but didnt see a response so thought I would try again.

My DH and I will be at BC for the first time in October.

We plan to have a standard room. Is there any area I should avoid? I was thinking about requesting a room near the secret Epcot path. Was that 1502???

Is that a good area. We prefer a quietier area and we are not really concerned being to close or to far from the lobby.

Any suggestions would be great!!!

TIA !!!! :)

Hi all sorry I haven't been on here but I have been sick and in pain and trying to function.
I saw the surgent on Friday and I am scheduled for surgery Monday July 18th at 8am. She wanted me in asap. So I am a nervous but I got the Lord on my side and lots of prayers!

Hopefully I will be home within a day and I will have time to catch up during recovery.

Bye bye gallbladdar, hello pain free days soon!

Heather,

I hope your surgery went well and that you're on your way to a quick recovery!! Here's to being gallbladder free!! :cheer2:

During our first stay at BC (Sept. 2010), I fell in love with the pillows and tried to find the same product in a local store. The Disney Resort Collection website says that they are by Wamsutta and are "Magic Gel". I found these in my local Macy's and they were not the same pillows that I slept so magically on at the BC. :sad2: So I did a little searching on the DIS and found out that the pillows are called Beyond Down by Carpenter. One of the few places that I could find that carries them is Belk Dept. Stores in the Southeast, (I am originally from NC and there is a Belk where my Mom lives now, so I put them on our Christmas list) and my Mom gave us two for Christmas!! :santa:

When the kids and I went to visit Mom in NC last month, I popped into Belk and found them on sale---50% off  , so I now have 2 more! They are really great pillows! :thumbsup2

Cindydare

Hi Cindy- I added this to the FAQ section;

According to cindydare you may want to check out Beyond Down Pillows by Carpenter.
One of the few places that carries them is Belk Dept. Stores in the Southeast.

Can someone who is going to the resort soon check with the lifeguards to see if there is a set opening time? Is it 8 am year round? Or does it vary month to month?

Just got back on the July 7th there is a sign posted at SAB , 10:00am Till 10:00 pm and not one minute before and the quiet pool was 7:00am till 12:00am . I was there for 14 days and they did not flex one little bit .

Also they were checking room keys and wristbands for everyone , I also saw them ask someone to leave the pool area , after explaining that her friend was staying over at the Boardwalk they asked her to leave anyway . The Lifeguards would not flex at all . Sorry I never thought to get a picture of the sign .

I thought that the quiet pool was open 24 hours. Do they lock the pool up/close gates (are there gates?) at midnight, or are those hours merely "guidelines?"

Anyone know?

GV would not overlook a quiet pool, you may see it though to one side. Best GV request would be wedding gazebo IMHO.

You can use this site to see the view if you look at DZ's site for the room number. Not sure how accurate it is but may give you an idea.

I just checked this out! It is great!!!

They collect views, too (but my collection is better!)

Alittle late but add me to the July list. Just booked a BC - CL standard view with my annual pass discount and am headed down in eight days. Only staying three nights but will be back at BCV for October (F&W Fest). Stayed on the fifth floor in January and really enjoyed the lounge. Now DD and DSis want to go back. I hate the heat and crowds of July but I would never turn down a good airfare and AP rate! See you next week!

On our last trip we had booked a standard room at BC, and wanted to be as close to EPCOT as possible, the reply from here was to ask for rooms 1501-1530. We got our request and it was perfect. We were in room 1520 which was ground floor looking over towards the UK part of World Showcase. Although the view was only trees we could still hear the hustle and bustle of WS, and in the evening could hear Illuminations and see the higher fireworks. There is a side gate here too so from room to International Gateway was a 3 minute walk:thumbsup2

If I were flying and not driving I sure would find a way to ship them home since I can't carry them on the plane. Never did F&W but I bet someone else has and can tell you if you can get them to box the bottle and ship it home for you. Have fun drinking and eating your way around the world.

I thought that the quiet pool was open 24 hours.

Had the same thought as you when I saw that post on "quiet pool" hours. I don't have any personal experience swimming in one after midnight but my kids did once at POR. Can't say I remember gates blocking my way to the YC pool, but then maybe there is some way they can shut them down so people aren't disturbed in their rooms by late night revelers taking that post-EMH swim.

Just got back from our first Villa trip! It was great!!

Thanks for the fantastic review! I'm so glad you had a great time!!!

Is there any chance that you have photos of your room or around the BCV that you would share with me to post on this thread. I am woefully lacking on BCV pictures.

Thanks!

Dee

Kids were fighting tonight and I thought for the millionth time - WHY do I take you savages on vacation again?????? :rotfl:

Here's what Marlton Mom would do in this situation. I would tell them that you are only going to take 1 kid to Disney and that kid will be the one who is the best behaved.

Make fake arrangements with grandma or social services or the place where you drop off the unwanted kids to watch the ones that don't "win" the behavior sweepstakes. Make sure the kids believe that you have the arrangements and you WILL pull the trigger!

OK so what you've got here is gullible kids (hopefully) who are on their best behavior right up until the moment you are leaving the house and telling them they behaved SO WELL!, they all get to come.

This is good.... right? Well here comes the problem part. Once those kids get on the plane you are TRAPPED! You can't leave them on the side of the road any more and THEY KNOW IT!!! All that pent up frustration will seep out and they will start up on the plane. This is where homeland security can finally be useful. Tell them about all the celebrities who were escorted off the plane for bad behavior and thrown in the clink. Ask a flight attendant to back you up. (They always back up the Moms and Dads in this situation!)

OK, so that covers the plane ride. Now you've got the hotel to deal with.

Uggh!

All of that crammed into 1 or two rooms for the duration of your vacation.

What's a parent to do???

I'll tell you what you do. You tell the children that you are only BRINGING BACK the best behaved child. Make fake arrangements with Teena or social services or the place where you drop off the unwanted kids to watch the ones that don't "win" the behavior sweepstakes. Make sure the kids believe that you have the arrangements and you WILL pull the trigger!.....

Are you getting this?

I hope that helps and with the kind of Help Marlton Mom provides, you don't really need much more do ya?

Thank you for the information. Did you make this request when you arrived? We dont plan to online check in this time. Or do I need to add the request to my reservation? :)

Never too late. Are the dates July 27 - July 30? BC CL?

I would make the request provided you don't have one or two on there already. That way the computer knows what end of the resort you want to be at (close to Epcot). That way when you get to the reservation desk and they have you somewhere else you can look at them with a straigth face and say "BUT I REQUESTED CLOSE TO EPCOT!!". Now we all know that they are only requests, but they really do try to make the customer happy, they really do.

Hi Nannette, I just saw this. If you go over to the DVC Planning Boards & then look for the thread BLT Rooms and Views by work2play, you should find all the info. you need. I stayed at BLT last July in a 2 bedroom MK View room and loved it! I can tell you that there is only one tower at BLT. BLT shares amenities with CR, in addition to having its own pool. I enjoyed the quick walk to/from MK. We took the boat to/from FW for HDH and it was relaxing. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you going there right now!

We will be staying at the villas in a 2 bedroom next week. I will be sure to take a bunch of pictures and report back. We requested a high floor, epcot view so lets see what we get. DD9 is a big fan of Paris so she would love it if she was able to see the eiffel tower from our room.

Thank you, I just added the request to my reservation... now fingers crossed for 97 days!!!
