Hi, I'm pretty new to the DIS, but could we be added to the August list? 25eels & family, BC, Aug. 1-5. Can't wait; this thread has me so excited and I think I'm more excited to see Teena than Mickey!

Anyone else for November?? Any changes?? The list is already up to date on page one thanks Dee! November will be here before we know it... Wishing everyone there or on the way there soon a GREAT trip!!!

:cheer2:YACHT AND BEACH CLUB NOVEMBER 2011 LIST:cheer2:

I have a change, we've decided not to stay CL the dates are the same but no CL for us. The more I thought about it the less I thought it was the right way to go for us (as much as I wanted CL). We will have a car the first few days of our trip so I plan on making a run to get snacks water and my much loved diet Pepsi (not a Coke fan). I'm sure we will have a great time even without CL plus the money I saved I used to put a deposit on a Disney cruise for June 2012 :woohoo: So in a way it's a win/win for me.
Thanks,
laurie:goodvibes

Done CL taken off your trip. I'm sure you will be fine without CL especially if you were able to book a deposit for a Disney Cruise with money you saved AND you will have a car to get the beloved diet pepsi enjoy!!

To all of you experienced BCers. In 3 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days my DH and I will arriving for our first BC stay.

I have read on these boards all sorts of room requests and which is the best for a view, a balcony, and etc.

Well, I am sure I missed it; but what is a good area for a quiet room? We are not concerned with a view (because we are never in the room to look out at the view) or the balcony size (same reason as above). So what room or area would/should we request? I say quiet cause we would rather not race a pool or be near a direct walking path.

We arent too concerned about how far the room is from different things cause its just us and we dont mind walking.

The only thing I can think of is being close to that secret Epcot path might be good but is it a busy area? Thats room 1502??? right?????

I know I am months away; but I have to plan and know these things early or my head will fly off. My DH's eyes just glaze over when I discuss our WDW plans. He is already tired of my tweaking and trying to squeeze things in. But he doesnt complain when we experience great vacations so I'll let him get away with the eye glaze. :)

TIA

Hi WDWKOOK! I'm not going to be very helpful on the YC side, but I can give you some general encouragement! If you already booked 1/2 your stay at BLT (do I have that right?) then a split stay between a monorail resort and an Epcot area resort would be perfect! Think of how easy it will be to get to Epcot and DHS from YC! You'll be able to enjoy SAB and all the dining options in the Epcot resort area and Epcot.

Now, I've loved Poly for years (it's my second favorite) and our most recent stay there was in January of this year. It doesn't get much better than Poly on MK days! But we're often in Epcot for dinner, and it's wonderful to just the stroll out the International Gateway to BC/YC in the evening. There's nothing like just walking out of the park at the end of the day to your room - no waiting for the monorail or bus. We love it!

So if we do a split stay and spend part of our trip in the MK area, I would definitely spend the other 1/2 in an Epcot area resort. Actually, that might happen soon as our older boys are really lobbying for CR just for a night or two before returning to BC. Then I'll bug you and CR Fan for advice! :)

Good luck with your decision!
Thanks for the encouragement, Pixarmom:goodvibes. You listed all the right reasons to stay in the Epcot resort area:thumbsup2.

Well, at least the boys will still stay at the CR. Is the BC their favorite because of SAB or because of Epcot?

I know you can't answer my previous question about the STD YC/CL views, but maybe someone else will know if there are any STD/YC/CL rooms that don't have a roof view?

BTW, no one ever bugs us on the CR thread, we're always happy to try and answer any questions, so don't be a stranger:).

Oh, that's funny!!!! I'm just an old lady that loves the BC and Mickey!

Hey, I'll be there (August 2-5) for vacation so I'll see you at SAB!!!! I'll be working August 1st and then checking in myself on August 2nd for 3 nights.

Since they reclassified the rooms, as far as I'm aware, all standard view rooms, whether club level or not, will have a view (partial or full) of either a roof or a parking lot.

I had to laugh about your DH's eyes glazing over:rotfl: That is exactally what happens to my DH when I start talking about planning any trip and when it comes to Disney it's even worse!!!!!!! He is very happy however when we are there and he's having a great time:thumbsup2

Does anyone know how long of a walk it is to the Dolphin from BC? We are renting a car and picking it up there and I thought I would just walk over early that morning, unless it's much further than it appears.

Thanks,

You walk out the back door of the lobby of the BC and when you get to the lake, you make a right. After that you'll walk past the YC and after that you come to the boat dock for the Swan and Dolphin. If you hop on the Hollywood Studios boat at the YC, the next stop is the Swan and Dolphin. The other day a guest told me they walked over to the Dolphin and it took about 10 minutes.

We just stayed at the Dolphin for one night over Memorial Day weekend, but spend a good amount of time at BC for the dining options and photo missions! I would say it's 7-10 minutes, depending on your pace and where you start at BC.

If you head past YC directly toward the Dolphin, you can either go straight and follow the path that hugs the building to the lobby OR turn left, cross the bridge, and then turn right and walk past the Swan/Dolphin boat dock to get there. We thought heading straight was the fastest route (and avoided any Swan/Dolphin boat dock congestion.) The car rental set-up there was so easy!

Here's a photo of the path I referenced:

And if you stand in that spot and look in the opposite direction, you'll see how close YC/BC are:

Thanks Teena, 10 minutes isn't too bad at all:thumbsup2
I didn't even think of taking the boat.

Laurie

Unless you are in a rush sometimes it's actually faster walking and not taking the boat. For example let's say you choose to take the boat from the YC/BC boat dock to the Dolphin, well that means having to wait for the Hollywood Studios boat to arrive. Well if it takes a while during that whole time you waited you could have already arrived at the Dolphin by just walking there. So that's something to keep in mind if you just getting on the boat.

Ya know..... I've been hearing about the "Tag Fairy" for years and I have yet to see anybody get plastered. Sure, the Tag Fairy was around years ago but I think the Tag Fairy is DEAD!

There.

I said it.

Dead, dead, Dead, DEAD!!!

And that Fart quote... Between the dog, my 12 year old son and my husband I am surrounded by proficient and prodigious farters. What is it with MAN and Beast and the farting???

None of the 3 have any shame about the farting either and they never have any second thoughts about sharing them with Mom. 50% of my yelling at them is because they dropped a bomb on me without having the DECENCY to move away.

The best is that just about every time you tell the dog to sit, you can hear him squeeze one out as his 'buns' hit the ground. WTH!!!!

OK, so here comes the Beach Club content. It got so bad in the hotel room that I had to insist that my son go OUT on the BALCONY and fart. Then he had to fan his shorts..... because if he didn't, he would drag the leftover fart back inside the room!!!

How's that for a visual? :lmao:

Another reason to request a full balcony at the Beach Club!

Perhaps you can 'word' your request like this: "Family of farters making Mom Miserable, Must have Balcony for respiratory relief!!!"

So there ya go! Another life or death issue solved by the Superheroes here on the BC/YC thread!

Marlton Mom

OMG!!! This is so true!!!:laughing: You crack me up. I have a husband, 9 year old boy, almost 7 year old boy and a 12 year old dog (a 9 year old dd too but she doesn't play into this scenario). I don't know who's worse - - the husband who calls it his "air purification system", the almost 7 year old who will sit on my lap and then fart and say he was "just making a donation", the 9 year old who will wave it your direction or the dog who farts with every step up the stairs! I am glad I am not alone and there are others that feel, oops I mean smell, my pain!:rotfl:

Hoping for that full balcony now for another reason!

Adding a day to our trip so getting to the BC on 8/29 instead of 8/30 (should make noodle pick easier too).

Kids weren't into the 7am flight out on Tuesday (go figure) so changed to getting in Monday evening, little do they know that makes it possible for rope drop at early hours at Ecpot Tuesday morning bahahaha!

Can't wait!

Hey - that's us! I can send a PM in August with more detail, but we'll probably hop on Magical Express around 3pm on the 29th. I think we might miss you by a few hours, but at least the noodles won't be lonely for long!

Love the "bahahaha!" :)

Thank you both:thumbsup2 It's not that I'm in a rush, I just didn't want to think it was a somewhat short distance and be 4 or 5 miles. I actually like to walk and explore, plus it get me some quiet time and allows the boys (DH included) extra time to relax before starting our day;)

Gosh, a gal tries to go to the beach for a day and comes back to 3 pages to catch up on.

And half of them are about farting! :scared1:

Gonna request a room AWAY from the full bacony farters next time I stay at the BC!

BTW, the number for BC private dining on page 1 has a typo , it is 407-934-8000, not 974. Just for anyone looking to call.

Thanks for letting me know! I'll make the change.

I believe the page 1 guest lists are all up to date, but as always, if you are missing or if something is listed incorrectly, please let us know!
