2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part II

I would really like to write a letter of praise for all the CM's on the club level at the Beach Club. They were fantastic and made us feel right at home. I wrote down most of their names before we left. Actually all the CM's we met at the BC were superb, from the Lobby (Hi Teena), to the pool, to the restaurants, etc. My mom couldn't get over how friendly and helpful everyone was.

Does anyone know the address where I can send a letter? I don't want it to just go to some general mail box. Thanks for your help.:)

Lisa

These are the addresses I used in the letter I sent last July to praise the CMs we encountered on our trip:

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
PO Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

I copied the general manager of the Beach Club (and Yacht Club, too):

Mim Flynn, General Manager
Disney's Yacht and Beach Club
1700 Epcot Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

I am eyeing the Chevy Malibu, still unsure.
Have not had a car payment in over 6 years so this just stincks but is inevitable. Right now I am wishing I was at Stormalongbay and sipping a drink and just be happy. :goodvibes

I just wanted to add in that I have had my Malibu for 2 years and I love it. I had to trade in my Saab (that I loved) when we had DS and it has been a great car. Good gas mileage and a good ride!

We only have 51 days until we get to BC. I am putting together some ideas for the room to surprise everyone. I love reading about all the things you guys have done! YCFAN, I am now ordered a cake for sure! I do hope they can do a 6" or 8" one since it is only 4 of us!

Happy thoughts to everyone here!:grouphug:

I am jealous to hear that there was male nudity on parade in another area of the resort. I think the BC should consider adding that category to the room classifications, but only if the nudity involved was with a Matthew McConaughey impersonator.

~MM
PS. If it was a Matthew McConaughey impersonator I can imagine (most of) us all sitting on the balcony across from the room screaming "open the curtains, OPEN the Curtains!!!!"

:thumbsup2

After a long trying day at work, this is exactly the mental picture I needed! :lmao:

Thanks MM!

Cindy

I know Dee already provided a mailing address, but we always send an extensive e-mail (entitled "Thanks to Outstanding Beach Club Cast Members") with details to the following e-mail address: wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com.

We have always received a very kind response, but I'm not sure the CMs are always credited. Does anyone know if it would be better to send a hard copy instead of an e-mail?

Ok so I am just venting... How about can't get you in here how about these alternatives?

Venting is Ok Priskillet.

As DisneyMom said about the ADR's send IPO a list of altenatives. List them 1. 2. and 3..... in order of priority and give it another shot. If you are 3 weeks out as your ticker says then you may have to pick and choose what's available.

I can relate! And I, too feel a little silly worrying about it.

I was booked in a YC/GV/CL room, changed my reservation to Poly/GV/CL and got the urge to possibly switch back to YC and you're right, only the STD/CL room is available.

If the STD room were considerably less than the GV, then I probably would be more encouraged to just book it. But seeing that it's only a little over $3 more per day for a GV (though unavailable), it bothers me even more to book a STD. Plus, I already had a GV booked, but switched to Poly. Is this a sign to stay put at the Poly? Have you seen any photos of a STD YC view?

Glad I am not alone!! Poly was my other choice, both last year and now, but the pool hoppers and the crowded beach would irk me...

Ok so I am just venting...I have read on these boards all the great things about BC CL. From ordering what guest like to helping with ressie's. WELLLL I emailed IPO and asked to add on....

SNIP!

OH WELLL>>>>>Thanks for letting me vent. Where is my Magical Pixie Dust?
:confused3 Sorry if I am whining and expecting the world here.

Here are some suggestions that may help.

You can't mail alcohol to the resort but you can mail other things like a favorite candy or other goodie.

I mailed down a ton of stuff before our trip and it really made our stay feel like something special. Consider finding that something special and sticking it in the mail so that you can spring it on him when you are at the world.

Also, some one else here might know if Garden Grocer (or another site) delivers alcohol. Google Garden Grocer (say THAT fast 3 times!) and send them an email asking if they have the beer. You can have it shipped to your room along with other stuff you'll need like sunscream (that's what we call it) or special shampoo and other supplies that you won't have to lug in your suitcase for the trip.

As we say around here, every fart has a silver lining, run like heck and look for it from afar.

Disney can do wonders with healing. When I was 8 my dad was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He lost his battle four years later. He LOVED Disney and since we lived in California, we went often and it was the one place he was never "sick." I don't know how he did it, but our trips to DL never made him feel like he had to slow down. He used to tell me it was part of the magic the park had. The year he passed, our first Christmas my mom brought me to DL for the Christmas party. It helped both of us, more then we knew it would.

It was my dad's dream to go to WDW and I'm so sad he never accomplished it, so with my first trip this October it's so bittersweet and I find myself getting nostalgic all over again, which is so silly since I've been to DL a ton since and it's been more than 23 years since he passed.

Such a nice story. Thank you for sharing. I believe your papa will be watching over you and smiling!

Hi and welcome :banana::banana: Would you like to be added to the list of people who will be at Y/BC in November?? I will be there the same time as you only I will be at the YC!! Come on November!!

~Nannette

Yes, i would love to be added to the list!

Thank you for the kind welcome. I have not been on for almost a week. I am getting very excited about our trip. The people at my work think I am crazy because we dont go until Nov. and they keep seeing me planning. It was very hard to decide where we were going to stay because we just love the CR, but I decided this must be a great place to stay with all of CR Resort Fan 4 Life post!:cool1:

I LOVE the People Mover (granted I've only been on the one in DL, but I truly love this ride). DH keeps making fun of me with the People Mover, we have the apps for our phones to check the line wait times and I check it just to "see" you know? and he always asks "But what it the wait time for the People Mover?" Which there is NEVER a wait time for that ride! So he says, well if we ride nothing else we can ride the People Mover a bunch while we're there.

I know I know...Thanks...I was just cranky i think?! I read too much into it right now. BUT I am better and know every need cant be done. I will do what I can :=)

LOVE LOVE your line! Too funny. Just what I needed to snap out of my evil princess mode.

Thanks!

1. BDay celebration (check)

2. Asked for dinner reservations for our arrival day. Asked for Hoop De Doo and/or Chef Mickeys. OK so they were booked. No prob...but? The answer I got was was not available. next question. WHAT? How about a suggestion? I know I am expecting a lot but I am paying for extra here. How about can't get you in here how about these alternatives?

3. I am a divorced woman with DD(9) and I have a fantastic DisBoyfriend who takes me and the kids (his DS6y/o) each year to Disney. Welll This year is his birthday when we are there so I figured I would ask for Guinness beer to be in the Club Level fridge or in stock there for when we arrive. I have heard that certain beers can be stocked etc...I just wanted ONE Beer so when we check in they could say WELCOME TO BC CL MR. SOSO HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERE IS YOUR FAV BEER TO START OFF...I was told instead that they don't carry the beer if I want I need to order it to the room for $6.75 per bottle and I need to call and give credit info...

Sorry if I am whining and expecting the world here.

I had a similar experience with IPO at Poly in January. I knew that it was stupid to feel upset that they couldn't help me but I was very frustrated. (I was hoping to have some gift cards for the kids as a surprise so they could buy some souvenirs.) I sort of felt like I was paying top dollar to stay CL so why couldn't they help me!
What about Disney floral? I think they have gift baskets with beer....

Anyone else for November?? Any changes?? The list is already up to date on page one thanks Dee! November will be here before we know it... Wishing everyone there or on the way there soon a GREAT trip!!!

Does everyone request a specific area or room before their trip? We're staying at BCR CL in September. It's out first time staying in a Deluxe. We're supposed to get a garden view. I didn't make a request for our room - I had heard that you sometimes get more pixie dust at check-in if you haven't. And, I'm not sure I'd know what to request anyway. Just curious if this is something I should be doing.

Marlton Mom - Garden Grocer does indeed deliver alcohol!
Before we started staying CL I would always order through Garden Grocer and always had to order beer for DH. You just put the type of beer and quantity at the end, in the special requests section.
