Does everyone request a specific area or room before their trip? We're staying at BCR CL in September. It's out first time staying in a Deluxe. We're supposed to get a garden view. I didn't make a request for our room - I had heard that you sometimes get more pixie dust at check-in if you haven't. And, I'm not sure I'd know what to request anyway. Just curious if this is something I should be doing.

If you booked a garden CL room, that's what you should get and the views are nice. If you would like a full balcony, you might want to add that to your reservation as a request. Most of the CL garden view rooms have a full balcony but if it's important to you, I'd think about adding that on to your reservation. Requests are not guaranteed but it helps the room assignor when they are assigning rooms.

We usually add close to the lounge. We love walking across the hall to grab a drink or a snack. If you like a full balcony it can't hurt to add.

But to your bigger question we have had good experiences when leaving it to luck of the draw. If you don't like your room you can always ask if there is anything else available (before using the room).

Thanks everyone. Can I just email the CL CMs if I want to request a full balcony?

Does anyone want to try and convince me to change my Poly/CL reservation to the YC/CL? I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I'd still like some encouragement:goodvibes

I posted yesterday that I was seriously considering switching the second half of our split (7 nights) from Poly/CL to YC/CL. Since this is less than a month away, the only CL availability would be a STD room and I would have preferred a GV.

I can't seem to find any photos of a STD YC view, could someone point me in the right direction? I assume it would just be of the roof and parking lot? I don't mind the parking lot, but the roof is not so great. Do all STD YC/CL rooms have a roof view? Does anyone have any recommendations as to a STD view room location request that might be better than some? My only request is for a room without a connecting door.

Thanks for sharing the story about your father with us. It is great hearing about everyone's connection with their parents sharing a love for Disney.

Great story Rorey, I also have all the memories of Disneyland with my Dad.. I to grew up in California and visited often. Have a great time and just remember your dad will be seeing it all with you from above.

~Nannette

Such a nice story. Thank you for sharing. I believe your papa will be watching over you and smiling!

:grouphug:
Much love and happiness

Just catching up . . .

Rorey, my love of Disney all started with my dad and DL too (we also lived in California!) Not a bit silly to be nostalgic - I'm extremely nostalgic about my parents (they experienced significant health issues but are now well) at both WDW and DL. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Looking forward to hearing about your trip in October!

Thank you all! :)

Anyone else for November?? Any changes?? The list is already up to date on page one thanks Dee! November will be here before we know it... Wishing everyone there or on the way there soon a GREAT trip!!!

:cheer2:YACHT AND BEACH CLUB NOVEMBER 2011 LIST:cheer2:

I have a change, we've decided not to stay CL the dates are the same but no CL for us. The more I thought about it the less I thought it was the right way to go for us (as much as I wanted CL). We will have a car the first few days of our trip so I plan on making a run to get snacks water and my much loved diet Pepsi (not a Coke fan). I'm sure we will have a great time even without CL plus the money I saved I used to put a deposit on a Disney cruise for June 2012 :woohoo: So in a way it's a win/win for me.
Thanks,
laurie:goodvibes

:yay: Disney Cruise :yay:

Finally AP rates came out, and pretty dissapointing :sad1: We had booked BC with the GP rate earlier in the year, and added DDP. So basically the AP just let us take off the 2 one day park tickets. Not the great AP rates of last year.

I can live with it, at least I won't be stuck with 1 day park tickets, but def. not the 42% AP rates of the past.

And BCV has no AP rate.

Just added 4 nts at Yacht Club GV CL to our 6nt BLT trip in December!!:cool1::cool1::banana:

Thanks! Yacht Club stay is December 16-20 2011
Taking just the little ones this trip...flying my Mom down on the 16th to surprise the kiddos.

Adding a day to our trip so getting to the BC on 8/29 instead of 8/30 (should make noodle pick easier too).

Kids weren't into the 7am flight out on Tuesday (go figure) so changed to getting in Monday evening, little do they know that makes it possible for rope drop at early hours at Ecpot Tuesday morning bahahaha!

Can't wait!

just got off the phone with Mark from private dining at the BC....never ordered a cake or anything before. just ordered a mickey head bday cake to be delievered to our room on DS's 7th birthday. Vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling. $63 with tax and gratuity. I actually can't believe I spent that much on a cake YIKES! LOL I sure hope the kids like it. I had it set up to be delivered around 2pm since we are ususally on break then, and was told that they would leave it in the room even if we weren't there. Why do I feel so nervous about this whole thing....someone please tell me it will all work out wonderfully LOL.

BTW, the number for BC private dining on page 1 has a typo , it is 407-934-8000, not 974. Just for anyone looking to call.

Do you know if there is a BC Dec list?
We will be at the BC/CL Dec 18th thru the 24th.

Can't wait!

Tag Fairy?

Ya know..... I've been hearing about the "Tag Fairy" for years and I have yet to see anybody get plastered. Sure, the Tag Fairy was around years ago but I think the Tag Fairy is DEAD!

There.

I said it.

Dead, dead, Dead, DEAD!!!

And that Fart quote... Between the dog, my 12 year old son and my husband I am surrounded by proficient and prodigious farters. What is it with MAN and Beast and the farting???

None of the 3 have any shame about the farting either and they never have any second thoughts about sharing them with Mom. 50% of my yelling at them is because they dropped a bomb on me without having the DECENCY to move away.

The best is that just about every time you tell the dog to sit, you can hear him squeeze one out as his 'buns' hit the ground. WTH!!!!

OK, so here comes the Beach Club content. It got so bad in the hotel room that I had to insist that my son go OUT on the BALCONY and fart. Then he had to fan his shorts..... because if he didn't, he would drag the leftover fart back inside the room!!!

How's that for a visual? :lmao:

Another reason to request a full balcony at the Beach Club!

Perhaps you can 'word' your request like this: "Family of farters making Mom Miserable, Must have Balcony for respiratory relief!!!"

Marlton Mom - Garden Grocer does indeed deliver alcohol!
Before we started staying CL I would always order through Garden Grocer and always had to order beer for DH. You just put the type of beer and quantity at the end, in the special requests section.

So there ya go! Another life or death issue solved by the Superheroes here on the BC/YC thread!

Already looking at historical discounts... Hoping beyond hope to get a discount rate for our May 2012 trip! There seems to be something available for May from 2008 to present, but am I ridiculous for hoping that BC will be part of a discount?

Tomorrow my ticker will start with 9 months not 10. The things that are amusing me!!!! LMAO

Hi WDWKOOK! I'm not going to be very helpful on the YC side, but I can give you some general encouragement! If you already booked 1/2 your stay at BLT (do I have that right?) then a split stay between a monorail resort and an Epcot area resort would be perfect! Think of how easy it will be to get to Epcot and DHS from YC! You'll be able to enjoy SAB and all the dining options in the Epcot resort area and Epcot.

Now, I've loved Poly for years (it's my second favorite) and our most recent stay there was in January of this year. It doesn't get much better than Poly on MK days! But we're often in Epcot for dinner, and it's wonderful to just the stroll out the International Gateway to BC/YC in the evening. There's nothing like just walking out of the park at the end of the day to your room - no waiting for the monorail or bus. We love it!

So if we do a split stay and spend part of our trip in the MK area, I would definitely spend the other 1/2 in an Epcot area resort. Actually, that might happen soon as our older boys are really lobbying for CR just for a night or two before returning to BC. Then I'll bug you and CR Fan for advice! :)

Good luck with your decision!

This year the trend seems to be that WDW is putting out the best discounts early, then releasing more discounts later at the usual times, but are less of a discount. So keep a watch on the discounts.

We have a split stay in Aug with POR. The first ( and better) free dining came out in Oct. And we booked BC in March with a good GP rate.
