Hello to everyone on the 2011 yacht & Beach Club FAQ!

I'm happy to say that I have started to run into some of you at the pool and I received a request for an update on our comings and goings. Mostly we have been hanging around the pool, but then you would expect that from a bunch of pool noodles!

Pastina purchased one of those water proof cameras and she gave it a real work out. Feel free to take a gander at our flicker account for the latest pool pictures from Pastina. They are positively pleasant!

PS. Hope to see you at Storm Along Bay!

Thank you Noodles for the pics! Great shots, can't wait for Aug!

Good Job Joeseph!

All that hard work will pay off big as you get older. I'm always telling Penne and Ramen that they can't just float through life! I admire your diligence and perseverance with your studies. I know that you are probably the kind of kid who makes it look easy, but I realize that you really put in a great effort to get there. KEEP GOING! After all that hard work I hope you have a great summer!

Heather I hope your gall bladder problem gets better. My Uncle Gnocchi was suffering from an air bladder problem until they used super glue to fix him up. He was really deflated about the whole situation but now he is back in action! If you look closely at one of the pictures on our flickr, you can see the bottom half of Uncle Gnocchi flying through the air while the people in the pool try to knock him around. No wonder he was having problems!

Take care!

We booked Cape May, Yachtsman, Boma, Tony's, LeCellier, and Teppan Edo. Has anyone eaten at Teppan Edo? It will be a first for us. Also a first at Cape May and Yachtsman. We recently switched one of our ADR's from Coral Reef to Yachtsman based on a lot of mixed reviews for Coral Reef. Do these seem like good choices?

Thanks. 42 days and counting!

We were there the beginning of June and loced Cape May and the Yachtsmen, Le Cellier (for dinner) we didn't think lived up to the hype of a signature restaurant (maybe lunch for 1 credit, but definitely not worth 2) and Tony's for lunch wasn't too great either (service was fabulous, food was only average though).

You all really know how to put a smile on people's faces!!! Joeseph says thanks for all the well wishes. He is still so proud about the whole test thing. He was the last kid to finish during some of the sections so he did not feel real confident about the test. So it was a suprise how well he did!

I am sure if and when I get my gallbladder taken out I will feel better, just hate going under. I enjoy sleeping so much that I don't like waking up. Called the family Dr. today and they won't be able to schedule anything with a surgent until Monday. So we are in a waiting period for now. As long as I stay with rabbit food like salad I should be ok. LOL

I got about 11 days left!!!!:cool1: I can't wait to escape this absolutely horrible New England spring like weather to actually be at a place that knows what summer is all about!!! Course I will probably bring a cold spell and snow with me :rotfl:.....

Anyways, just wondering if I should do online check in or not. I did it once before in 2009 when we stayed at CBR. It was ok, got the building I wanted, but it wasn't any faster b/c the person in front of me had a million questions...not the CM's fault at all. This is our first villa stay so I don't know if it makes a difference or not. WE arrive around noon so the room probably wont' be ready any ways. Any thoughts????

The absolute, very best part of my day today! You're already booked for my dates, but I will say hi when I see you around SAB!

Marlton Mom, you are a comedic genius!

Just wanted to let you know that my DH does not like to wake up eithet and we discussed his options with the Dr and he recommended we try some twilight drugs for his surgery.

I know it does not sound good for major surgery but they took both big toes off, fixed all the problems and put them back on. He did not remember anything, but the Dr said he sang to the music they were playing in the surgery room.

He woke up perfectly and had no side effects.

Good luck with your surgery. pixiedust:

hey folks,

I am planning on treating my mom to a surprise wdw trip and am about set on the BC/YC for our home base.

She's 72, walks fairly okay, but loves the beachy theme. She has lighthouses all over her house.

Any advice regarding the resort for the holidays will be great. Hope to be there first week of December.

Thanks,
RC

Heather,

I had my gallbladder out 3 years ago. I started having attacks 2 weeks after I gave birth to DS3, so I understand. Watch out for broccoli and cabbage...they both made mine worse. I read online that apples were good for your gallbladder, because of their pectin, so I tried to eat at least 1 apple product per day, and I drank natural apple juice instead of orange juice daily until I had mine out. I think it made a difference for me, but it could all be in my head. :)

I'll say a little prayer for you for a speedy resolution and recovery!

Here is a question for the YC/BC folks with experience during Food & Wine.

We are staying at BC 10/22 to 10/30. We are super excited, as it is our first time at BC! Here is my dilema...as part of my crazy configuring / reconfiguring of my ADRs for the week, I got an 8:00 p.m. ADR at Rose & Crown for Friday, 10/28. My thought was that it would be cool to eat dinner there and watch illuminations from their patio / viewing area.

But now I'm second guessing myself. Touring Plans has Epcot at a 9.5 that day and we were going to avoid it entirely until I found this ADR. Is taking my 7 yo DDs into Epcot on a Friday night during F&W crazy?

TIA for the insight!

I finally figured out that either I'm a masochist or I'm insane.

We leave for Disney in 18 days.

Yesterday was ds's birthday - spent the whole day at Funplex (so nothing got done).

Now somewhere in my delirium I decided that Saturday would be a good day to have a yard sale. My whole downstairs looks like the inside of Macy's. I spent all day tagging things (nothing for Disney got done again).

Saturday is the yard sale and Sunday we are bringing my Mom to stay with us!

My only escape is to picture myself lying by SAB with the "official YC/BC Disser drink" - the sunken treasure!

And now I'm getting nervous because I was reading about CL crashers and guests showing up in the GF Sugarloaf lounge in bare feet and no shirts - I switched from TPV CL Poly to GF Sugarloaf a few weeks ago!!!!

Marlton Mom - where is your trip report? I am in desperate need of a good laugh!

Teena - you must be getting a nervous wreck thinking the baby is almost here! All mine were early - thinking of you every day!!!!

Hi all, I've been away from the boards for a while and now I am less than 3 weeks from being at BC!! WOOHOO! I was just checking back and noticed the fantastic pool noodle family! HYSTERICAL!! (and a great idea too)
I noticed what appears to be a gap/overlap in the schedule when we are on vacation. I think someone is checking out on the 7/14 and we are checking in late on the 13th and out on the 21st. If noone is going to be hanging out with the noodle family we would be honored to do it! Just let me know.
Wow I can't believe its soo close!

Just wanted to check in. We are still around, just have had alot going on. I have been going through tests and I am now getting refered to a surgant to get my gallblader out. Still not for sure but looks like I will be heading for an OR in the future. I will be glad for the pain to stop!

My son got his SAT's back and he blew them out of the water! He just finished the 6th grade. I have been homeschooling him since 3rd grade. The private christian school I sub-teach let him take the SATs with the other kids this year and not only was he on average he was also above average on over 10 things. His social science (history) was at a nineth grade level and his over all was above a 7th grade level!! I am so proud of him!!

With the possible surgery coming up our trip might have to be scaled down. It is so frustrating when unexpected things come up! Then my extended family does not understand my families love for Disney. They say, "Just stay home this year, or go somewhere else for a change" My family looks forward to our trips to Disney every year and we save hard to go.
Sorry I guess I am sounding off a little tonight!

By the way love the new pictures of the noodle family! It put a smile on my face tonight.

Catch up with you all later!

So glad to hear about your sons scores, this also says alot about his teacher, congrats to both of you.

I had my gallbladder taken out last October, was off work for 3 days not including the surgery day, had no pain what so ever. They did have to make an addition slit because when they got in there was a HUGE mass (which turned out to not be cancer) attached to my gallbladder. I never really had any attacks that I knew of, they had misdiagnosed me 6 years ago, thought I was had Fibromalgia, but after my surgery, I have come off the 3 meds I was taking and have not had any issues since. Good Luck! I know you will be fine, but let us know how you are doing.

Just wanted to add my two cents regarding heather's gallbladder surgery. I am an anesthetist. I put people to sleep for a living. Unfortunately, the type of "twilight sleep" you're talking about, dgbg, isn't possible for gallbladder surgery. To remove the gallbladder, the patient must be completely paralyzed and placed on a ventilator, during the surgery. In my experience, slow wake ups are either related to the patient receiving quite a bit of narcotic (pain meds), or is related to their physical make-up (i.e.,some drugs are hydrophilic while others are lipophilic, thus, those of us who have quite a bit of adipose tissue or fat, keep drugs "on board" longer than those who are thinner in body habitus.) I hope that makes sense. At any rate, good luck with surgery and I totally understand your concern, heather.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Le Cellier is available now for lunch for Dec. I have been looking everyday, through out the day and finally got our 15th Anniversary lunch for Dec 14th!:cool1:

Now all we have to wait :headache: and we will be at the BC for 10 days and a MUCH needed vacation. We can't wait and the kids still have NO clue:scared1:

Jen

just booked our first trip to BC we are very excited! We will be staying Nov 19 through the 26th. This will be our first trip not staying on the monorail; which makes us kind of nervous. Thanks for all of the detail information that helped us decide where to stay this trip.

I had my gallbladder out almost 8 years ago - I too started having attacks just after dd was born - about 8 days - the doctors kept saying it wasn't pregnancy related but I'm sure it was! I Had mine out when dd was 4 months old and it was the best thing I ever did - no more pain! Gallbladder pain is def the worst pain I have ever felt and I have given birth with no drugs before!!

I was there last year with DD26 who is crowd phobic... it was sooooo crowded. That being said if you are only going for dinner I wouldn't cancel. You have to remember that F&W on Friday-Sunday bring out the locals for this. One of the things I remember telling DD was that I personally think that
there should be a way to ban children from the WS during the evenings while F&W is going on because of the amount of drinking going on it was crazy in my opinion. I hope this helps. Like I said if you are only going for a dinner ressie and then leaving you should be ok in and out the international gateway!!
