just booked our first trip to BC we are very excited! We will be staying Nov 19 through the 26th. This will be our first trip not staying on the monorail; which makes us kind of nervous. Thanks for all of the detail information that helped us decide where to stay this trip.

The best thing about the Beach Club is the ability to walk to Epcot. It was very convenient and we were able to have a reservation or two even when we did not plan to be in Epcot that day. Also, there is a laid back atmosphere there that I enjoyed to much!

I got about 11 days left!!!! I can't wait to escape this absolutely horrible New England spring like weather to actually be at a place that knows what summer is all about!!! Course I will probably bring a cold spell and snow with me .....


Anyways, just wondering if I should do online check in or not. I did it once before in 2009 when we stayed at CBR. It was ok, got the building I wanted, but it wasn't any faster b/c the person in front of me had a million questions...not the CM's fault at all. This is our first villa stay so I don't know if it makes a difference or not. WE arrive around noon so the room probably wont' be ready any ways. Any thoughts????

Do you have any requests on your reservation like a location preference or any questions you need to ask at checkin? If you do, I would advise waiting to get to the resort to check in. I don't have any experience with the villa checkin, so maybe someone else who has stayed there can give you some info on what checkin is like.

PS- I hear you on the weather! For the first time in 5 years I had to cancel our last day of school pool party today due to the rain and cold. And this is probably the latest we have ever gotten out of school!

I had my gallbladder out almost 8 years ago - I too started having attacks just after dd was born - about 8 days - the doctors kept saying it wasn't pregnancy related but I'm sure it was! I Had mine out when dd was 4 months old and it was the best thing I ever did - no more pain! Gallbladder pain is def the worst pain I have ever felt and I have given birth with no drugs before!!

I started with the attacks when DS3 was 2 weeks old. We had gone out to dinner because my Mom was in town, and I had fried shrimp with onion rings. That night was not pretty. I had 4 more attacks over the next 2 weeks, with the last attack coming the night after I had my gallbladder ultrasound. The ultrasound tech had a hard time finding my gallbladder....I figure DS kicked it into submission, when he was running out of room. I changed my diet and managed to make it 4 more weeks til surgery.....I had 6 weeks of maternity leave and went back to work for 2 weeks before taking 1 week off for the surgery.

I know I scared DH a couple of times when he came home from working the late shift and found me writhing in pain on the bathroom floor, but the surgery was such a breeze compared to all of that. I felt better almost instantly.....other than being sore, and I was able to eat hot wings less than a week later.

It's one of those possible pregnancy induced diseases that no ever tells you about!

Sorry about your pool party....not a good summer to a have a pool in MA this year. I see you are near Boston so it is probably warmer for you. I am in Central MA and we are in the cold/snow belt.......I keep begging DH to move to FL so he finally caved and got me a time share ...that will keep me quiet for a little while!

I think you are good either way. Villas check in at BC, right? I don't think the line is ever more than 1-2 people there, especially mid-week Wed. But I also don't know how much availability there would be to switch to a room if you don't like it. Villas are usually fully occupied.

Texasfan We are in the same boat..after many years of staying on the monorail side of the world we are trying the BC...I have based many of our ADRs around the close proximity to Epcot... and have been given some wonderful advice here with reguards to that...as CreativeAmanda said and one idea that I though was very good was making some ressies in Epcot even on a non Epcot/down day...Looking foward to but a little nervous just the same about our new resort adventure... Enjoy!

You can see Illuminations over the tree tops from rooms 2512, 2514, 2516, 2518, etc. I believe you could also see the top of the fireworks from 2630, 2632, 2634 and those same rooms on the third and fourth floors. I think they are all garden view. You can't really see Epcot from those rooms. In fact, even from the water view rooms, you don't have any real great views of Epcot, maybe the top of one of the buildings, but that's it. You get better views from the YC ... because of where that is around the lake, but I would assume the Epcot views are also water views.

Maybe guests that have actually stayed in rooms at the BC that they could see the fireworks from will answer your questions too. There are some rooms that are standard view that you can see over the tree tops the fireworks from Magic Kingdom. But they face the front of the BC.

Remember, it was only on 1/1/11 that the rooms changed categories and a garden view room category was added. Before that there were only standard and water so even if a guest stayed in a room and saw fireworks, they might not know what that room is (category) now.

No, room numbers are different at all three (YC, BC and BCV) - no duplicates.

The first digit of the room number at all three resorts tells you the floor ... 2512 is on the second floor of the BC.

1. Refill mug....any fresh brewed ice tea available? I know it is available in Club Level lounge but wondered if this was available at the "food courts" either at YC or on property elsewhere/.I can't recall if fresh brewed ice tea is popular at WDW...

2. 24 hour lounge for drinks...I assume lounge is still operating at 24 hours? August trip....

I stayed at BCV last summer and requested "not 1st floor; Epcot view." I did online check-in (it's part of the planning excitement for me to know that I'm already checked into my hotel while I'm still working!) and we got both requests. The check-in is at the regular BC desk. We arrived around 8:30pm so our room was obviously ready. That was my only stay at BCV but we've generally been pretty lucky with having rooms ready early (except when I've asked for adjoining rooms - both times at the Poly - and we had to wait until late afternoon for our rooms to be ready).
