I took a few pictures of the lounge. They had the typical breakfast offerings as well as hot oatmeal and hard boiled eggs everyday. The same snacks in the afternoon that have been mentioned on here before and a really good selection and rotation in the evening. The BEST thing they had all week was a raspberry and brie stuffed puffed pastry and I usually don't like raspberry! It was amazing! They also had conch fritters, lobster salad, shrimp salad, chicken skewers, crab ragoon, etc. They really did have a good selection.

On the first day we went to Epcot for the day and I had planned an in-room celebration for that afternoon. I have had in-room celebrations before but all I can say about this one is OMG!!!!!!

I can't begin to explain how over-the-top these two in-room celebrations by The Disney Florist were. My room was geared towards my younger DS10 and the other room was for the five 23 year olds. It could not have been better.:worship: As you can see, it was all about being pirates:

The Yacht and Beach Private Dining Chefs came through for us again too! The first evening of our trip, we dined at Yachtsman Steakhouse which is a favorite of mine and ordered a special ECU Pirate college graduation celebration cake to be delivered at dinner. Here are the results:

Another thing that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE about the Epcot resorts area is the easy access to The International Gateway from your hotel. On the second evening I had planned a custom pirate Illuminations Dessert Party after our dinner at Tutto Italia. Here are some pictures:

Just getting out of fantasmic is insane. Once you've made it out with all your family members intact, the next wave of line for the boat. We took one look at the lines and walked back to the BC. It took us about 15 minutes. We had one boat pass us the whole time we walked so our guess is we would have probably waited a really long time for the boat. If your child is in the stroller, I would pick walking over waiting.

We took the boat back after Fantasmic. We did not make the first boat but another one came by quickly. We were there early May. We did have the Fantasmic seating package which seated us near the exit on the side that would be closet to the park exit. I am sure there are other exits but that seemed to shoot us out ahead of the rest of the stadium. The line for the boat got progressively longer behind us.

Thank you GC&S and PittPantherfan! Experience tells me we'll be tired of walking but 15 minutes still beats waiting for a bus and standing on a bus if we stayed somewhere else!

Wow! YCFAN - Those pics are awesome! :worship: I want to be invited on your next trip!!! :rotfl2:

Amanda

The more, the merrier!! I have Grand 1 pics too but I guess I need to post a separate thread since I can't really tie them in to the YC! lol!!

YCFan, I don't want an invite to join you on your next trip......just adopt me. I want to be your kid. :lmao:

How completely amazing was all of that???? And the Grand, too?!?! Good grief. Okay so when I hit the Powerball I'll have a great point of reference for all my celebratory trip planning. :thumbsup2

Amazing! Thanks for sharing all that!!!!

(((BTW, the Grand pics would totally tie in just fine considering it's a yacht and this is the Yacht Club thread. Right???)))

YCFan--As an East Carolina graduate, I love, love, love the cake.

It was amazing! The Hard Rock Hotel did one for us too. They also displayed a Pirate Nation flag in the cabana all weekend. The guys LOVED it!

It was great......the night of the dessert party I had everyone wear their ECU shirts and girl that was eating at Tutto Italia came running up to the table saying she had graduated from ECU too and we took a picture together with her and the guys.

Then just as we were leaving the restaurant, we were stopped by a custodian outside and he pointed to his name tag. Where it ususally says the hometown they're from, his said East Carolina University. He was a part of the college program. It was great to see all the ECU spirit alive and well.:goodvibes

:woohoo:Hi everyone I've been lurking here for quite a wee while now and just wanted to say congratulations to Teena on receiving her Presidential Award (for helping at Jeanne's school). You looked so chuffed in the photos I saw. Well done Teena and congratulations -you deserve it!:woohoo:

Disney Momx7:

Not sure where you got the info that Room 5637 is a standard view room. Our view was definitely not one with any rooftops or parking lot. The view from 5637 overlooks the main pathway/garden that leads to Stormalong Bay. We could even see parts of the pool from our balcony. We paid for and reserved a GL room and that is what we got.

Also for those who want to see how much room there is with the daybed opened up, I want to attach a few photos that shows the size of the daybed. My 19 yo son had no problem on it. But I cannot figure out how to attach or paste in a photo. Help anyone?

To upload a picture, you need to copy the photo to an account like Photobucket and then "Share" the photo by getting the link code for use on message boards.

Then you copy the link code into your message.

If it is easier for you to e-mail the picture to me, I will send you my email address in a PM.

Thanks so much fo the offer to help. Please send me an email address in PM and I'll send them right over.

I think they will be helpful so everyone can see what the room looks like with the daybed folded out.

thanks again.

Room 4057, Yacht Club, I think I apologize that I didn't make a note of who posted this. DOH!

Room 4057, Y/C is me Dee. Great view right on the elbow of the Y/C right next to the turn in the walk-way around the boat rental docks. Small room but probably the greatest view one could ever hope for (everything from the boardwalk at night to the fireworks in Epcot). It was small (in perception only I suppose) due to the slope in the ceiling and the balcony being "enclosed" by a portion of the roof that sort of had you looking out a large cut out circle.

I have a new hobby I started a few weeks ago. I am "collecting" room views- if someone posts their room number and posts a picture of the view, I am saving it to a photo file called "Room Views"
Awesome!! You could follow the dizneyzone format and fill in the new info!! :thumbsup2

YCFAN --- All I can say is "Holy Moly!!" That is just awesome, and I am was IN awe. I had to call my husband over to view all the cool stuff you did. My favorite would have to be the Illuminations Dessert party! :lovestruc

Hi Teena,

Just a quick note to say it was so nice to get to talk to you again about cruising (and trade a few pins) this last Saturday when Jim and I passed thru the BC. We were on our way from HS to EPCOT but had to stop in the BC to check things out and cool off a bit in the lobby - and of course, to hopefully see you.

I hope you have a great time visiting your daughter. Enjoy your time with her now and when the new baby comes!

We'll be back at WDW over the 4th of July weekend. Maybe we'll get to see you then.

Take care! :hippie:
