On the first day we went to Epcot for the day and I had planned an in-room celebration for that afternoon. I have had in-room celebrations before but all I can say about this one is OMG!!!!!!

I can't begin to explain how over-the-top these two in-room celebrations by The Disney Florist were. My room was geared towards my younger DS10 and the other room was for the five 23 year olds. It could not have been better.:worship: As you can see, it was all about being pirates:

YCFAN - love, love the light up Tinkerbell!!! Loved the sleeping son picture, too!:thumbsup2

You certainly know how to throw a party! Hopefully, we'll meet up at the DIS meet in July (and at the YC club lounge, too!):woohoo:

No need to pack extra towels, they are provided at Stormalong Bay.

Hmmm- does anyone know if there are towels provided at the quiet pools? There are no lifeguards- are there any CMs stationed there?

There were some CMs doing work when we were at the YC quiet pool and they do have a huge "load" of towels for guests.
We weren't carded though. :)

we spent some time at the quiet pool last week...there are towels provided. I did not see any CM's the two times we were there

Thanks natebenma :goodvibes For the info and the pics too!!

MikeyT I took a look at that room map on disneyzone..I know you said they were older maps..curious though..where is the club lounge now located on the fifth floor???
:

Straight across from the elevators {four red dots}. In the orange block labeled Ice. The consierge desk is located straight across in the hall and the lounge is in a room directly behind them. Enjoy!

Congratulations Teena!!

We always knew you were the best and now even the President realizes it!!

Well deserved!!!

Marlton Mom - I think we're going to drop out of the noodle swap.

We'll be there July 16-31 so I think it will be too confusing to have the noodles the first 7 days, and not the last 8 days.

I guess we'll have to make do with the skinny cousins!!!
No big deal!

Updated Noodle swap
*****Please Check to see if I have included you correctly
NOODLE SWAP
Bold type means new addition to the list

Please get a picture of your family or yourself with the noodles when you have them. Even better would be a picture of you AND the person you are handing them off to if possible. This is a great way to meet your fellow Yacht & Beach Club FAQ thread friends over something extremely silly!

If something happens to the noodle, it's OK... really! Just let us know and then some one down the line can try to replace it if they get the chance. This is all for fun so don't freak out if the noodles get lost or damaged. Have a great vacation and take care of the noodles with out fretting about it!

Pictures of the noodles engaging in your vacation activities are WELCOME! Say you are having a drink by the pool... take a picture of the noodle (with yourself as well if you want) 'posing' with the drink and post it on the Yacht & Beach Club FAQ Thread. Be creative! The sillier the better and an imaginative caption will help to set the scene and tell the 'story'.

The families involved in each hand-off would be responsible for contacting each other to arrange a time/place for the swap, or if the noodles need to go to Bell Services for a short vacation, I think the family that hands them over will have to give the name of the family who is going to claim them. OR would it work if we used a fake name (like the Ramen family) for each pickup?

Notes* A 1) denotes the first person of the time period to post and ask for the noodle. A 2) means the second person to post for that time period and so forth....

Steve trek checks out on 6/6 and gives his noodles to.... ?

Well, it's back to reality for me today :sad2:

Our trip was the most magical yet!! We didn't want it to end.

As a quick recap, we were upgraded to Club Level - and it was very nice indeed!!! We were able to meet the NOW VERY FAMOUS Teena!! She is every bit as wonderful as she seems.

We tried a few new restaurants this trip, and all were wonderful. Sanaa at Animal Kingdom was so good (and with a window seat looking out to the animals to boot!!). the Animal Kingdom Lodge is breathtaking. I am so glad we visited there.

Next we tried La Hacienda, YUMMMM. Can't wait to go back. Then there was Via Napoli and boy oh boy it was so good. Both of my DD's were GaGa over the wait staff. They want to go back, but I'm not sure it's because of the food

Yesterday before boarding the plane we headed over to DTD and ate at Wolfgang Puck Express. I can't believe how good this counter service eatery is!!! We will be heading back there also.

The weather was perfect (hot in the sun during the day, but NO HUMIDITY except on Friday). The evenings were cool and breezy (of course I'm from Louisiana, so anything seems cool and breezy!!)

We first tried doing the EMH in the mornings, but after a couple of mornings we were exhausted and decided to do the opposite and go to the parks that had a EMH Late evening the night before. That made a huge difference. The parks were so much easier to get through with lower crowds. and getting the extra hour sleep was a nice perk!!

I'm already planning the next trip :cool1:

Paid off our trip on Friday - WOO HOO!!!!

I really can't wait for this vacation, I need it so badly!

Here is our agenda:

Driving from NJ - straight through because we can't wait to get to Disney!

First night - Buena Vista Palace and Spa in DTD. We probably won't get there until 3:00 in the afternoon so we just like a nice place to swim and relax for the night.

Our traditional "first night dinner" is RFC at DTD. We love, love, love the volcano!

7/14-7/16 Poly TPV CL. Really splurged for these two days! Here our plan is to try to get to MK early enough to at least be in contention for the "MK Family who gets to open MK".

We rented a cabana the second day. First night is dinner at Kona and second we'll probably just order from private dining in the cabana and check out the evening appetizers at the Poly

7/16-7/31 - BC GV CL here we come!
15 days on the DDP and CL. I'm guessing they'll have to roll us out on the 31st! Can't wait to get back. SAB is definitely calling my name!

7/31-8/4 - Leave Disney and drive to Hilton Head to recuperate from the Disney vacation!

I can't wait until it's time to start packing!!!!!

Robyn--My favorite part of the planning stage is the paying off of the trip. It always seems more real then!

I love the idea of going to Hilton Head to recuperate from the trip. I go back to work the next day, which is definitely not ideal!

Hello BC/YC fans! I've missed three days and have so much to read! Love the trip reports and all the info!

I'll try to make a long story short and then provide some information. We flew to SW Florida to use my parents' condo for the weekend. We had an early flight out of Orlando this morning, so we booked a pre-flight night at AKL. Just a few days ago, we decided we'd like to spend the whole day at AKL on Monday, so we found a great rate at the Dolphin for Sunday night and decided to give that a try. I knew we would be walking over to BC Sunday night and Monday morning, so I got Dee's list of missions and added some of my own!

So I'll start reporting back! It's funny how much more you can notice when you're not visiting the parks and just walking around. First, the bad news:

1) We made it over to BC right after Illuminations on Sunday night, so we must have missed Teena by just three hours. I knew this was the case, but was still sad to see the empty lobby. As usual, the lobby was lively but not crowded, smelled great and the the music was wonderful - so I say "empty" because we missed Teena!

2) Robyn - I didn't see the KLP report before I left, so I also checked on it. As Alice reported, its no longer on the menu. I talked with a CM at Captain's Grill and asked whether it would be possible to order it anyway, even though it's not on the menu. He said no. Ugh!

OK - I'll start with the good news in the next post! :)

YCFan---I am in AWE of everything you did for this trip. If you ever want to extend the family, we are in! I know your kids must be so thankful for it all.

Teena--Good luck this coming week. Take care of yourself and congrats!!!

Everyone--Happy Memorial Day!!!

Question---Does Private Dining do custom cakes for Cape May or only the Yachtsman Steakhouse?

Private dining at Y&B does the custom cakes for the restaurants at the Y&B Resort. The absolute cake guru has a ton of info that she just compiled on her website at this link. She's also a big Dis'er so I think it's okay to link you to her personal site.

Also, natebenma, there's a huuuuge list of links to WDW custom cakes on the first page of the cake chatter thread that you can look at here. Amazing stuff!

In that thread I have pics of the custom cake we ordered from the Contemporary's bakery in November for Whispering Canyon. I was very unimpressed. I think I might take the plunge and give the Y&B pastry chefs a shot and order an anniversary cake for our anniversary dinner at the Yachtsman. I'm thinking maybe something similar to our top tier... :thumbsup2

I'll start with BC Marketplace!

Ready for breakfast at 7am! (Our family enjoys the croissant with ham, cheese and egg.)

A few odds and ends that I didn't catch in the Marketplace last February (see link to those photos on page 1):

Again, I can zoom in on any of these photos (or the photos on the page 1 link) if anyone has questions! :)

Just remembered this photo of the outdoor seating right outside BC Marketplace:

I thought it was a nice addition to the indoor seating in the Solarium. We chose to take our breakfast out the beach - just benches and lounges out there, but it worked just fine for us.

I thought this sign might be helpful:

Also wanted to mention Picabu at the Dolphin! I had heard of Picabu as a 24-hour dining option before and we don't get quick service much, but we all enjoyed it. The variety there is quite good - I took a ton of photos but I'll post just a few here:

I planned to time the walk from the Dolphin to the YC lobby, but I didn't clock it exactly. I'd guess about 10 minutes.

This is not the best photo, but here's the path leading to the secret entrance from the pathway around Crescent Lake:
