Do most people walk or take a boat back from HS after Fantasmic? If you take a boat, how long do you have to wait for a boat? We'll have a toddler with a stroller so I'm trying to decide if we're better off walking or taking a boat afterwards. How much does the shortcut mentioned on page 1 save you?

:goodvibes

We took the boat back after Fantasmic. We did not make the first boat but another one came by quickly. We were there early May. We did have the Fantasmic seating package which seated us near the exit on the side that would be closet to the park exit. I am sure there are other exits but that seemed to shoot us out ahead of the rest of the stadium. The line for the boat got progressively longer behind us.

Those garden views are exactly what I needed to see. I am beginning to think I will never make it through this week.

Hey everbody! I've missed you all so much! I was only able to sneak peeks on the boards a couple of times via my iphone and that's not nearly as easy as laptop/ ipad!

We had a fantastic trip. Checked in on the 20th and out on the 25th. Then we stayed club level at the Royal Pacific Resort until yesterday. LOVED the Beach Club, LOVED Teena, LOVED SAB, LOVED it all.

I'll tackle a full trip report early next week. Until then, please let me know if I can answer any questions.

Cheers to all!

Borquefam....I was so excited to see your post :banana::banana: Welcome back, so glad you had a wonderful time! I would love to hear your experience with the royal pacific club level and compare it to your experience at the beach club (i.e.offerings ;)). My family and I will be doing our first club level stays at both resorts (sounds very similar to your stay) in July and are anxious to get any information we can get. I can get so much helpful and amazing information from this thread, but very little on the universal thread (No one compares to the ladies on this thread :thumbsup2). I would truly appreciate any information that you can give me :flower3: Thank you sooooo much :goodvibes

What days are you working next week, Teena? We check out of Port Orleans-Riverside and into the Beach Club on Sunday.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Not sure how I'm going to do 3 days ... the radiation is taking so much out of me and it's been hard to push through the 2 days a week. But I'll do it because on Tuesday I leave for Jeanne's and can sleep the whole six hours on the plane! It will be a fun but tiring trip with her. We have to pick out the delivery hospital and we are going to do some unannounced stops at possible day care centers near her school. Of course the main reason I'm going is it's the last week of school so I need to help her close down the classroom and say goodbye to all the kids.

See you on Sunday! I get into the lobby around 9:30 AM.

I just wanted to share something special to me and to ask if anyone knows the name of this CM? I believe we were in the Marketplace but we might have been in the YC (my memory is not clear on this). Anyways, this gentleman was so sweet to my little guy and made this special to us. It was our first pin trade ever (in Dec.) and he was very nice, patient, and let my son take his time picking out what he wanted to trade for and explaining to him that it is up to him. I should have wrote a letter to management but I never did get his name. :lovestruc:)

ETA: Well, I couldn't figure how to make them smaller so here they are in all their large grandeur!

Very sweet. I think that was at the YC based on the carpet and my memory of the shelves at both stores. Perhaps you could send an email to guest communications and include a link to the photo? Would that work?

Teena, make sure you take plenty of rest breaks next weekend. Three days in a row sounds like a lot! You must be excited for your visit to Jeanne. Before you know it, Peanut will be here!

That one word sums our first visit to DW and our stay at the BC.
The Top Ten "Wowzers":

Loved your "wowsers." Sounds like a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing with us.:surfweb:

Hi everyone! Racing to get everything done before the weekend and I have a quick question - anyone know cab fare from Epcot resort area to AKL?

Hope you are having a great time! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear about it.

Today was a big day for us too - DS graduated from Law School!!!!

Congratulations to your DS.:cheer2:

I am so excited I could burst!!!

I just called to change our resort dates for our 'pool view' room Nov 7-13 to Nov 13-19 and the CM asked me if I wanted to upgrade to a lagoon view club level room with 40% off!!!

I quickly did the math and saw I was saving around $700.00 if I 'forced' myself to choose the CL room over a pool view room so I grabbed it.

I also got the same rate for my sister's room...my ear is still ringing from her shrieking into the phone when I called to tell her the good news!!!

Nannette - can you please change our dates to November 13 - 19. Thanks so much.

Woo hoo!

I was just reading a trip report about a family staying at the YC who had reservations at Teppen Edo at closing time. As they were finishing off their meal and squaring up the bill, someone at the restaurant scared them by saying that the IG entrance closes a couple of hours after the official closing time of EPCOT (9 PM)

I have never seen this asked or discussed so I thought I would see if any know how late the IG opertates- or what the criteria for closing it is-

two hours after closing?
everyone out of the park? (that's the general rule for buses, right)
once everyone is out of world showcase?

The family rushed back and the gateway was indeed open for them so I thought I would ask if anyone has ever heard this or had any late night experience coming back through the Gateway late at night.

Hmm- this might also apply to families who drive or take a bus to EPCOT and have a late meal, say at 10, at Beaches and Cream and then need to get to the front of the park for thier car or a bus to a resort.

OK this is deep thought for 5:30 in the morning!

We've never had trouble leaving through the IG. I have read that you can't get back into the park to walk through it after 9pm. This applies to both gates. No personal experience though.

As far as I know there is only "wired" internet in the rooms. What we are thinking about doing is bringing a wireless router. My iPad has 3G so if the wireless router is a fail, I'll still have internet access.

Amanda

Lots of DVCers apparently bring routers so you should be good. Absolutely correct that there is no wireless in the villas.

we are home from a wonderful stay at the Beach Club!! Wow! what a great resort:goodvibes

Loved reading your review. Upgrade....very sweet! Thanks for sharing.
We are at the 37 day mark :cool1: for our first DVC BCV stay!!!

We are in a 1BR and I requested an Epcot facing view when I called and booked. Is that the best way to request it? I really would like a view of the Eiffel tower or Spaceship earth. Is there a better floor to request also? I don't know how busy July is (I am assuming majorly busy) so I am not sure it will even be granted, but to sit on my balcony and see the Eiffel tower would be wonderful

I understand why bookwormed made those guesses but I have to say I think they are off a bit. We've stayed at BCV more than 20 times and have had a SE view just a very few. The only villas that seem to have them are odd 63 and up.

As for the Eiffel Tower, we've only seen the very tip top of it from one 5th floor villa on one wing. As you probably know, it's not nearly as high as it seems. Forced perspective I believe. We just request Epcot side and used to usually get it. Lately we never get even that! Just don't want you to get your hopes up.

I've read about the secret entrance a few times, but I know nothing about it!! Can someone please describe to me exactly where it is? We are checking into BCV on June 9.

Thanks!!

From BCV, do not go into the BC....that will be out of your way. Instead walk out of the small BCV lobby and when you get to the benches where the smoking area is located, hang a left and pass by the benches. Hang the next right and then follow the path around the side of the BC that faces the woods. Much easier to do than it sounds as I write. :rotfl:

Glad to help! I'll include all the details regarding both resorts in my trip report. In a nutshell, the Beach Club rooms were much more comfortable, but that's not to say that RPR wasn't nice. Beds were comfy at both places, but we missed the double sink and could not get our room to cool off. The black out drapes are not one piece (like at BC) that can be pulled across the entire window; they are two traditional pieces that meet in the middle and leave a gap that no matter how much overlapping you try to do, allows sunlight to stream in in the morning . Club lounge at Royal Pacific is HUGE and serves true meal type foods (steak fajitas w/ all fixings, chicken marsala w/ penne pasta) in the evenings.

Great things can be said about both resorts and you are going to have a fantastic time! I have lots of pics to share of each too. I'll get to work on the trip report tomorrow after I get the hubby off to work.

Great! We'll be checking in early (around 7ish), but we are hoping beyond hope that our room will be ready early (by 10 or 11).

Bourquefam....Thank you so much for the quick response! I can't wait to read your trip report! The bit if information that you've provided is already so helpful. You have absolutely made us even more excited for our upcoming trip :cool1: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you :flower3:

Thanks natebenma :goodvibes For the info and the pics too!!

MikeyT I took a look at that room map on disneyzone..I know you said they were older maps..curious though..where is the club lounge now located on the fifth floor???

Bourquefam I am looking foward to your TR too...:thumbsup2

Teena Hope that the 3 days of working go quickly..

Hi BCV :wave2: I was curious too about the crowds leaving the parks and returning to YC/BC resorts... Not a fan of the end of the night crush...:headache:

We're about to leave for a pool party/ bbq, but I couldn't resist sharing these before leaving:

Happy Memorial Day, everyone. Feel so blessed to live in this great nation and am humbled by all of the men and women who serve/served to protect our freedoms.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom at BCV last summer. I requested "Epcot view; NOT 1st floor." We ended up on the 4th floor with a view of Spaceship Earth. It was perfect. We could see upper Illuminations and even some of Wishes (if we looked to the left). My kids go to bed early so this was our only realistic hope of seeing fireworks!

On the day we arrived, we had been told the resort was booked solid and the rooms would not be ready until afternoon. Our plane was delayed for one hour due to mechanical issues and by the time we arrived (which was about 10:45 am) we were told that one of our rooms were ready!!:goodvibes
What a great surprise. The items that I had asked IPO to purchase for me were waiting in the one room. Only a couple of hours later, the other room was ready and we ended up with the two center rooms over the back entrance of Epcot. I LOVE this view!!!

These are our rooms:

They were the two rooms with the solid white railing on the balconies on the fifth floor. Here was the view:
