In case it matters for the noodle exchange, our BC reservation for August 28-29 is CL. (Actually, GV CL - yay!) But I'm pretty sure someone else will beat me to the photos of the noodles enjoying snacks in the lounge! :)

Make sure you use the night vision goggles!! So cool!! Also your little one might like the parade around the lodge in the evening!! Lots of cool things to do. Enjoy!!

~Nannette

Thank you!!! Our youngest is all about parades! And where do we go to get the night vision goggles?

It's on the side of the flamingo's... there's little alcoves within the rocks on that side to see the animals. it's the first alcove. There will be CM's out there with the goggles. A line starts to form so get there a little early. If you ask at check in they should be able to tell you what time it begins. It's pretty cool DD and I did it a few years ago.

Enjoy

I was showing this thread to my mom and the picture of the crab legs at Cape May on the first page had her wanting me to make a dinner ADR there...until she found out it was $37/person. :rotfl: So we're back to the original plan of a counter service somewhere around Crescent Lake!

Remember, that $37 includes your drink and salad and desserts ... considering other prices at Disney, for what you get, it's one of the best deals around.

She knows it's a good deal, she's just hesitant to pay that much in general. However, we discussed it and made an ADR for 5:30 on our arrival day. :thumbsup2 We figure if we decide down the line not to do it, we'll cancel. Are drinks included? It seems silly that they wouldn't be, but the allears menu says "Beverages Extra".

We have only been to the Cape May on the dining plan, and drinks were included with this. I would be surprised too if soft drinks/ice tea were not included with your meal for the buffet price. Maybe someone else has a different answer.

I was going to suggest that you check out the menu for Captains Grille, because on our arrival night we went there and I ordered the delicious crab legs, but I just looked and the crab leg entree is listed at $29.99, so it seems like more of a "bargain" to eat at the Cape May buffet and getting all that other wonderful yummy stuff!!!

I was just reading a trip report about a family staying at the YC who had reservations at Teppen Edo at closing time. As they were finishing off their meal and squaring up the bill, someone at the restaurant scared them by saying that the IG entrance closes a couple of hours after the official closing time of EPCOT (9 PM)

I have never seen this asked or discussed so I thought I would see if any know how late the IG opertates- or what the criteria for closing it is-

two hours after closing?
everyone out of the park? (that's the general rule for buses, right)
once everyone is out of world showcase?

The family rushed back and the gateway was indeed open for them so I thought I would ask if anyone has ever heard this or had any late night experience coming back through the Gateway late at night.

Hmm- this might also apply to families who drive or take a bus to EPCOT and have a late meal, say at 10, at Beaches and Cream and then need to get to the front of the park for thier car or a bus to a resort.

OK this is deep thought for 5:30 in the morning!

Hey guys! I couldn't find this info on the first page.

Are the standard CL rooms ALL on the 5th Floor? I know CL suites are scattered around (or is that non CL suites?).

I was looking on Google Earth & the 5th floor is really difficult to find! Is the CL lounge at the front of the resort, above the Lobby?

& where abouts are the Lagoon View CL rooms located?

Thanks. :tink:

AFAIK, all standard (not deluxe) CL rooms are on the 5th floor of the YC and BC.

I'm hesitant to try to explain where I think the BC CL is because I am severly directionally challenged. I remember getting off the elevators (the ones near the Marketplace) on the 5th floor and you are very close to the lounge. So I would say it is more over the Marketplace than the lobby. But I wouldn't take that to the bank!

Most of the water views would be on the back side of the hotel. We had a room that overlooked the back entrance courtyard and we could see SAB and had views of the lake/boardwalk area.

I don't have any kind of map, so I only know the one room I stayed in and by making assumptions about which rooms would look out onto water.

At Cape May Cafe, drinks (iced tea, soft drinks, etc.) are definitely included in the price as is everything else - and they keep them coming - last time I was there I think I drank 5 iced teas. Only thing not included is alcoholic or speciality drinks (virgin pina colada, etc.) and tax and tip.

CR Resort Fan: Yes, there was some construction in the daytime but nowhere close to our room (#5637) or even our wing. Our balcony looked over the walkway from the BC to Stormalong Bay.

You had mentioned that you had a daybed in a GV CL room -5637. We also had a daybed in 5636. There had been some discussion awhile back that there was only 1 room in the GV CL designation that had a daybed. Maybe there is more than 1 for those hoping for a daybed in GV CL.

I have to agree about the price for Cape May Buffet is reasonable if compared to ordering Apps, entree, desert and drinks at a TS restaurant it wil come to $40+. And those crab legs will be endless :thumbsup2

This is a good question, I changed our ADR at Le Cellier from 7pm to 8:20 but I would think even on EMH evenings it should be open at least an hour after park closing

I so resemble that remark :lmao:

Wow! $37 for an all you can eat Seafood 'plus' buffet! Don't tell my parents! They are retired and their favorite "hobby" is what I like to call 'Grazing'.

First of all, they would dig up a coupon, even if one didn't exist, for this buffet. Then they would come early, say if dinner started at 4:00pm they would come at 3:59 pm just so they could pay the lunch prices. According to my father this has it's advantages because you get the dinner foods while they are still "fresh" (what ever THAT means!) and the really big eaters haven't arrived yet, (apparently unlike themselves!).

They just opened a Golden Corral near my parents and watching my Mom and dad talk about it reminded me of watching a shark right before it feeds. Their eyes rolled back in their heads and their jaws started crunching uncontrollably!

Belle, I know that $37 sounds like a lot to your Mom but as you suspect it will be worth it and she will probably be talking about the food and the experience for ages. Just be sure that she skips a few meals so she has room for all the goodies. That's what my parents do and thankfully the managers don't check their stretchy little chipmunk cheeks for post meal snacks when they leave.

Have a great time!

Marlton Mom,
Just wanted to say I'm at YC Nov 25-Dec 3...so if anyone is there to handoff to me or for me to handoff to while I'm there, I'd love to participate in the Noodle Family Handoff.
Add me to the list if anyone's there before or after me!

From what I've been told 5637 is still technically classified as a sv cl room.
Maybe they've changed it since the original designation. That would explain why right now we've been told there is only one gv cl with a daybed.

We had 5636 in 2008!

Ok well then this could now work. I arrive at YC on 11/19 after 2 nights at BLT and I leave on 11/25 for 2 nights at AKL. I can pick them up from Avonlady before she checks out. I will be checking out early on the 25th we have an early tour at AK that morning, so if we can make arrangements for you to pick them up at bell services that day it would work.

This is good news for those us with a family of 5 staying GV CL. Do you know if both the rooms had full balconies?
