1) Don't know the price of the dinner- can someone going in the next week or so check the buffet price and post back here. I think I have read that some of the restaurants have a busy season surcharge. Anyone know about this, or what dates this would take place?

Has anyone noticed recent price increases at other restaurants. Seafood is not inexpensive, and I certainly don't see the price going down any time soon with declining supply and overall costs (gas prices) on the increase.

3) Pretty deep- around 8 feet at the greatest depth, I think. But there are a lot of places in SAB that are waist deep.

2) I'm not sure what Bubblin Bay is- it is a cove to the left of the slide exit, if you are looking at SAB from the slide exit. Honestly, I have spent way too little time in SAB. I don't remember anything remarkable about this area. Is it just a cove? Does anything happen here? Anyone know how deep it is here?

Just got back from BC on Tuesday. Had a fabulous time. Dinner at Cape May was $35.99 adult and 16.99 child for dinner. I know they have a holiday surcharge of I think $4 per meal but I'm guessing thats over Christmas break because we ate there on Mother's Day and it was still the same price, but they didn't accept our TIW card.
We only ate dinner so I cannot help you with the breakfast prices.
If Bubblin Bay was the area to the left, it is a little lagoon like area, no bubbles or anything crazy. It was shoulder height on my 10 year old and seemed more of a quiet / less busy area. My kids played Marco Polo over there alot.

I know the busy season surcharge starts on Friday and goes until mid-August. I believe it's a $4 increase from the normal price. allears has dinner priced at $36.99 and breakfast at $26.99. The dinner price I can understand, but breakfast seems a little on the expensive side, even for a character meal. I think Crystal Palace is only around $23, unless that has gone up as well (without the surcharge).

I'm trying to make a food budget and I know these are our two most expensive meals.

Thank you for the dinner info! :goodvibes According to the SAB map on page 1, Bubblin Bay is to the left when you are facing the lake, so that could be it. :thumbsup2

I'll be there this weekend, and have a Cape May dinner ADR for Sunday night, I'll check prices, and anything else if requested. I am surprised that TIW isn't accepted, is this new? I've used it there before, but it's been a while. And, are all the buffets a peak surcharge, or just the character ones? I knew about it, but never paid attention to it much because we don't usually travel this time of year.

The last I heard the surcharge applies to any buffet, family style, or all you care to eat meal. This include restaurants like Boma and Ohana dinner.

TIW wasn't accepted the day Fruto ate there because it was Mother's Day, which is a blackout day. You should be fine using it now.

My Mom is coming home tomorrow! I'm going over today to get her bedroom ready. We have one of those stair lift chairs installed and my two sisters and I will be taking turns to make sure someone is always with her.

No one knows how long we will have but she really, really just wanted to come home so we are very excited.

Great for you and your family Robyn.....You guys are the epitome of family.

Oops, sorry I didn't clarify that well. I should have said I couldn't use TIW on Mother's Day because it was a holiday. TIW is still good there, used it on Sunday night. ;)

So I am at the beach club this week and I learned something troubling last night and it was confirmed today.

Chatting with a man andhis daughter in the hot tub last night, he asked where I was from. When I asked him the same question, he said about 10 mins away. He said he comes to the beach club to swim all the time. He said they don't check for room id after 4:00pm and it's free game.

Talking to another couple just a few mins ago I got the same story.

It seems pool hopping at wdw is easier than some folks would like to believe.

Interesting
Dee - we are checking into the Polynesian on July 14th.
The only thing we have scheduled is dinner at Kona.
Let me know your have your schedule and we'll figure out something!

BTW - I have a 7th grade dd who just this minute called me to tell me she
needed lunch money!!!! They have pre-paid cards and she "fogot" to tell me that her account ran out yesterday. Luckily for her I have to go by the school on my way to my Mom's house.

So happy to hear your Mom is coming home :goodvibes

Thanks for letting me know, every bit helps, we get lots of use out of the TIW card. :lovestruc

I need to try the "Flat Robyn" approach. I'm so sick of dieting that I think that is my last resort!!!!
I so relate to this, my goal is to lose enough to feel good about going to SAB in Dec.

DS just graduated cum laude from Law School.
He is the same ds that:

3. DS was on the wrestling team in high school. That alone was a horror worthy of its own thread. DS is 5'8" and all of 117 lbs. Argued with me (with a straight face) that he couldn't believe that I would give him money for college but wouldn't, instead, give him the money to go to wrestling school to become a professional wrestler. Your first clue that lawschool was in his future;)

4. Junior year in college he was setting up his study abroad in Paris. Calls me one night to tell me that instead of going to Paris (did I say majored in French) he was thinking of doing his study abroad either in S. Korea or Israel because a girl (he met that night) told him that S. Korea study abroad was "cool" and he thought it would be "neat" to go to Israel. Of course these was when tensions were high between Israel and Lebanaon.

I ended up hanging up on him that night because I couldn't believe that he was taking the word of a girl HE JUST MET THAT NIGHT over someone who had cared and loved him for 21 years.

6. Favorite graduation picture was the one the night of the "cap and gown party" standing in front of a pile of Margarita glasses. Most prized posession when he came home from college was his beer pong table. perhaps this explains item 4 above

I read the thread every day I have internet access, but don't post daily. Today was payday, so I made a payment and saw that I officially have 203 days to go :scared1: time to focus on those ADR choices. Thought I'd pop in and say hi.

Disneymomx7 congrats on the future lawyer. I've been a lawyer 29 years and I still remember vividly the 2 bar exams I took (2 different states) and the huge relief when I passed each and thus would never have to go through that again - the bar is like a fraternity hazing or a rite of passage and has nothing to do with your ability to actually practice law. If you want to see absolute terror watch future lawyers file into the room they are taking the bar in.
YCFAN congrats on your college graduate as well, loved your celebrations/planning.
To those undergoing treatment hoping this will be a memory soon.

MarltonMom - about the son of Citation ride - since Citation was the 1948 triple crown winning racehorse - the 'ride' must have horses, not libraries!

Someone NEEDS to decide to go to WDW that first part of December, so there'll be someone to pass the noodle family off to me 12/9! Everytime I read a post w/ someone announcing they have booked I get all excited - until I read they are not going the first part of December. The decorations are lovely, it's not terribly crowded - someone must have a secret desire to book that week.

I have added pixarmom's new photos, and a couple of sinderelly's and mine to the following thread. I have posted links to this thread on page 1:

New picture requests/Missions:

I would love to add these pictures to the post- if you have any of these pictures to help fill in the gaps, and you don't mind me adding them to the thread, could you post them here, or preferably on the new thread and I will add them in.

A surcharge!!! :scared1:

Does it include a zip lock bag so I can fill it up with 'my' surcharge for the surcharge?

Gotta fight the power, people! ::yes::

No way! I took a photo of the outside of the solarium (with the sign) in the daytime. I looked at it and thought - nah, someone else (Sinderelly) just submitted some great solarium photos - and deleted it!! Ugh!

You DELETED a photo from Disney???

Anyone know where you can make smooshed souvenir pennies at BC/YC. I think it is near or in the arcade, but I am looking for confirmation.

heatherbabydoll- that might be a good addition to your scavenger hunt, if it has not been suggested yet.

I'm laughing my head off because my Mom was the Queen of ziploc bags in her purse for buffets. She would come with us on vacation to Wildwood, NJ and they had a great restaurant with a really nice breakfast buffet.

We used to get so mad at her. She would literally fill up the bag with mini muffins, sweets etc. I guess it came from growing up in the Depression!

I can check out this one! DS is pressed penny obsessed and I am pretty sure we don't have one from either resort yet!

5 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told the exact same thing from 2 separate couples the last time I was there. One was a local couple who "crashes" SAB a couple of times a week in the summer and the other couple worked at Typhoon Lagoon and did the same thing, though mostly for the hot tub. I was a bit taken a back by their admissions and I paid attention to anyone who was entering the pool area after that and there were no lifeguards stationed by the entrances so people were free to enter and exit at will.
