I'll be still on my radiation schedule. I'm working Saturday and Sunday (5/28 and 5/29), then "zap and nap" the next five days (Monday - Friday), then work Saturday (6/4), Sunday (6/5) and Monday (6/6) and I'm flying off to Jeanne's to help close down the classroom on Tuesday (6/7) for a week. I won't be back to the Beach Club until Sunday (6/19) at which time I'm back on my normal Sunday and Monday schedule. They just told me I will need more radiation when I get back after helping Jeanne but they will do it on Tuesdays through Fridays for two weeks after I return. Then I should be all done and hopefully have most of my strength back for Peanut's arrival. The doctor has given Jeanne a scheduled C-Section date but said there's a slight chance the date could change. Right now it's scheduled for 7/11 so Bob and I are flying out on 7/10.

I thought you might still be on your radiation schedule - ugh! We were planning to sneak me in for a Monday morning visit before checking into AKL for our pre-flight stay. Can't believe we're missing you then AND in August. Guess that means we'll need to get back soon!

Really glad the additional radiation doesn't interfere with your Jeanne visit in June. Hope all is well with Peanut!

Dont know how I forgot to post this before....

Natebenma The information on the first page of this thread it terrific...very helpful to a first time BC visitor! :thumbsup2

Boo hoo!! You'll be gone while we're there.....drats..... :( So sorry to be missing you, Teena. I'll be thinking of you helping your daughter, though, which reminds me so much of my Mom who helps me all the time!! I'm very blessed.

I feel sooo excited for all that you are about to experience: time is flying by! Peanut will be here SO SOON!!!:banana::cool1::love:

I believe I am checking in as Danny's Mom is checking out. I will be at BC CL GV June 25th - June 29th.

I was JUST thinking that! Seriously.... that tinkerbell screen name was checking in the day we check out....

So Marlton Mom's voluptuous pastel pool noodle swap is on! AND I GET TO BE FIRST!!!!!! WHOOOO HOOOOO!!!!:banana::banana: :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Whew! Just made it to see you as I leave on the 20th of June!

Who will I pester for the rest of the days that you are not there???

~MM

Richard is the full time greeter. Feel free to pester him non-stop and make sure you tell him I told you to!!

Teena what are your hours June 4-6? We will be arriving then so I hope we can meet you!

I start in the lobby at 9:30 AM and work until 5:45 PM. Once in a while they have me start an hour earlier if we have a HUGE check-in day.

I normally take lunch at 12:45 for 30 minutes and then a short water break at 4:00 PM.

Thanks for the replies Teena SJS315 and MickeyNut :goodvibes

Teena That walk to Epcot sounds great..much better than the changing monorails ride....but that one mile walk over to DHS  not so much...I think the boat would be my choice too...I'd rather save my energy for walking in the park!

SJS WS after dark sounds so nice...I am looking foward to that!

Hello there MickeyNut! Nice to see you!!! :) I remember that you are a fan of Cape May breakfast...we have only tried it once (and we really did like it too!) because of the long trip over from the monorail resorts just to have breakfast.. So far two breakfast options... Teena mentioned the Marketplace....is there a TS option ..anything like the GF Cafe??? Will our winter trips be overlapping??? Would be so nice if they were :thumbsup2

Are all of the club level rooms on the 5th floor where the lounge is??? We booked a lagoon view CL room... Hoping it will be a view across the lagoon to the BW..

Teena Sorry that the radiation is sapping your energy...its great that you have kept on working though...how nice that you have a new" Peanuts" arrival to look foward to when you are all done...:goodvibes

The Marketplace is a counter/quick service option. The Captain's Grill is a table service option like the GF Cafe.

All the regular club level rooms are on the fifth floor where the lounge is. The deluxe rooms (6 of them) and the one and two bedroom suites are on the first, second, third and fourth floors and have key access to the fifth floor.

If it ever gets to the point where you can't find someone to hand them down to, Aunt Teena will take them home ... they can share our storage bedroom with our noodles and squirt guns.

 It has now become a nightly tradition to read Marlton Mom's posts in our home! Today was a stressful day and we read today's chapter from Marlton Mom. It made us all have a great laugh before bed! This has now become a household name just like Teena.:rotfl:

Can't wait for tomorrow's chapter!

PS my DH said he will gladly use the noodles in December if they are still around because there will probably won't be any available in the stores by then and he would love to be a part of the BC/YC noodle club!

We are going to be staying at the Yacht and Beach Club over the 4th of July in a conceirge room and were just wondering if you have any tips/tricks for us.
We are actually a large party of 9 and are staying at SOG (Shades of Green) and then splitting up over the 4th of July weekend so that part of the group can be at Yacht and Beach Club since the kids have always wanted to stay and play in the pool (and so has mom!). Our group consists of me, my husband, and our two boys (11 and 4), my mom, her husband, my two brothers (19 and 11) and my brothers girlfriend.
We have never stayed at Yacht and Beach Club but are wondering just what will be in store for those lucky few in the group who will be staying at that location instead of SOG.

Lucky you ... can't think of a better place to be on July 4th. Stormalong Bay will be crowded so make sure you are there when the pool opens. Also, make sure when you go down to the pool that each one has their own individual room key or else they can't get into Stormalong Bay.

If you have two rooms at the BC and are hoping that they will be connecting, make sure you add that to your reservation. It's not guaranteed but you have a better chance of getting it if you have the request on your reservation.

Hi folks!

We'll be checking into the BC a week from Tuesday :cool1::banana::cool1: and I'm curious if anyone can tell me how big the in-room safe is? Is it a wall safe, or something more akin to the larger type found across the lake at BWI?
We're in a Deluxe CL room, if that matters---and I only need it to store my netbook, a PSP and DS, and maybe another item or two around the size of the PSP?

Thanks!

PS---Teena, you won't be on until the Saturday after we arrive (6/4), correct? Can't wait to introduce you to my horde!

Hey Dee,

If I keep track of the pool noodle list is there any chance of posting it on page 1 where the monthly lists are kept??

~MM

Yup!

Write up a brief description of how it will work and the list as it currently appears. I can periodically edit as we have new floaters on board.

Did you by any chance photograph your precious noodles before sending them off? If no, you definitely need to pull a catalog link photo or something, so people know they will be commiting (commited?) to be the caretakers of the rolls royce of noodles.

A direct handoff would be best, but sometime a family's vacation schedule may make this difficult to arrange, so a plan B might be a good idea.

Anyone know if it would be permissible to leave the noodles at Bell Services with the instruction that Guest B will be checking in on XX/XX/11, and will be picking them up. The fridge swaps at the value resorts work something like that.

I am also envisioning some kind of noodle tattoo or id tag so we can identify OUR noodles, but I can't really think of anything that would last and/or would not injure the delicate foam.

Unfortunately, the appropriate punishment for anyone who breaks the chain will be virtually impossible- wait for it-

Public flogging with a wet noodle

but maybe it will be VIRTUALLY possible, so please exercise extreme caution if you are in the rotation!

These ideas are all submitted for your approval by Dee, who is using her "noodle" for the good of others.

As Teena mentioned, the Captain's Grille at the YC offers both a buffet selection (no characters) and an a la carte menu. If you haven't used the links on page one, be sure to check out the menu. Some interesting items available there.

If characters are your thing, the Cape May buffet is a fun one.

There are also some interesting breakfast options a short walk away- Kouzzina at the Boardwalk or Picabu at the Swalfin (I think this is a cafeteria style restaurant at either the Swan or Dolfin, can't remember which)

For quick serve, you can find some things at the Marketplace or I believe pastries and such at the Ale and Compass lounge in the morning. Others recommend walking to the Boardwalk Bakery to start your morning.

Dont know how I forgot to post this before....

Thank you for the kind words! That is so sweet!

Let us know your dates if you want to be added to the page 1 Guest List :)

And it took me all day, but I was able to read the entire thread. I feel so accomplished! popcorn::

Very impressive task! Especially since we have flown through 70 pages in less than a month!!!

Are you ready for the initiation test? J/K :banana::banana:

I apologize if this has been asked before....what type of coffee makers are in the BCVillas?

Thanks for your help!

Bumping up your question- can someone who has stayed in the BCVs describe the coffee makers?

I'm pretty sure the machines are the filter type (think Mr. Coffee) as opposed to the Keurig (one cup) type.

Here's what I do when I don't know what size the coffee makers are or the type of filters they take. I pack the Maxwell House coffee filter pads. One pad makes 4 cups of coffee and 2 pads can be used in the bigger brewers for more coffee. .

That way I am prepared for whichever size coffee maker is in the room.

I am a coffee addict, but not a snob, so the Maxwell House is sufficient for my morning routine.

I don't know if the safe in a Deluxe CL room is any bigger than regular CL- but the standard room safes are pretty small.

Here is a picture taken by MsCoz2000 in December.

Welcome! Enjoy your stay at the BC!! It will be fabulous!

MM- great idea on the pool noodle swap...I have a few that travel to SAB as well...if you'd like a picture for your swap I would be happy to take one! Though the lovely purple one does not exist in my all boy house :(

We would love to be on the noodle list in Dec :santa:
I have an idea on the "Tag" why doesn't each DISer write their DISer name in black sharpie? It won't hurt the noodles and then we can all see who has had them :goodvibes

Bring it! lol :sail:

*wonders if it would be a new outfit for Teena or having to sneak in a noodle......
