Can't wait for you to get here. I'll help you embarrass the kids ... we'll do the happy dance in the lobby together!

Sweet. I'll certainly take you up on that, whether it is our first day there or just the first day we happen to run into you. My daughter clog dances so she'll probably join us but my 13 year old son will try to hide and attempt to disown us. I can't wait.

We just got back last night! Dee-I have pictures! DH took alot of the ones you were needing so please let me know how to get them to you. I also have the May activities schedule if I (with DH's help) can figure out how to scan it.

I know I'm already not very popular on this thread and maybe will be less now but...We liked the Pop better than the BC. :rotfl:
BC is a beautiful resort but it seems like everything is quite the distance away. We were in room 5683 CL. This is a king room with a full balcony and has a really great view of SAB. We paid for standard so I'm not quite sure if it was an upgraded view. Our balcony was huge when we looked to the right we saw rooftops but the front and left views were SAB. Anyone know which category this room is?

Club level staff-Debbie was great. In fact day shift were VERY nice. Foods were very good and replinished often.
Room-The bed was VERY comfy. Loved the sheets. I would have enjoyed having a sound machine. Mousekeeping was great other than forgetting to replenish some bath supplies.
SAB-It's huge. Almost too big. I really didn't care for the sandy bottom. It seemed like the pool was "dirty" or something. I guess if I'm going to walk in underwater sand I prefer the beach.
Hurricane Hannahs-Food was good. Birds are VERY aggresive. I got the back of my hand lightly bitten by a black bird who thought my finger was a french fry.
Construction-We noticed it by the quiet pool. In fact, we didn't hang around because of the noise and paint fumes were really strong.
Things we liked best about BC-bed, balcony, CL food, view across the lake, convenient to Boardwalk.
Why we like the Pop better-convenience to food court, pool, laundry, theming, music, food court. We just thought everything there was practically at our fingertips and the staff was wonderful.

Aw sorry you felt that way about BC....that is how I feel about AKL. Though much much stronger!!!! I love love love YC CL. Can't comment on BC but sure do love YC. Guess it is good that you tried it - now you know. I can say that about AKL. Now I know....I am a Deluxe girl and AKL just wasn't Deluxe enough for me! :) Maybe your money will be better spent back at Pop if your happiest there!!! Glad you had a nice trip though.

We walked over to the YC a couple times and thought the decor was prettier than BC. Love those wood floors. I am open to trying other deluxe resorts in fact, we are staying at BLT in October. :goodvibes

Oh my goodness!! We should call you the "Anti-Jay" because I had the exact opposite reaction when I was at Pop for a work conference. I just about showed up in the lobby of the BC, bags in tow, and on my hands and knees begging Teena to get me out of Pop and into my beloved BC!! :rotfl:

To each their own they say!!

I much prefer YC over BC. Just more my speed! BLT sounds fun. Never stayed there!! )

I am worried about this, our last stay was at POP, we loved the resort. Our room was by the pool and food court. The food court had anything you could ask for. We are staying at BC CL Deluxe Room this time. Doing this because it is for my 40th birthday, our 10th anniversary and probably our last vacaiton with all of our kids for awhile and we figured since we are only going to Epcot this time. I am sure we will like the resort, but just won't seem the same.

Forgot to mention we missed Teena :sad1:We had to board the ME bus at 8:00 am Saturday.
When we first arrived we walked into the lobby and up to Richard and asked him "who are you and what have you done with Teena?" :rotfl: Richard gave us his balloons and wished us a happy anniversary.

I am sure we will like the resort, but just won't seem the same.

That is what is great about the multitude of resorts at WDW from the POP and All Starts, the POR and CBR, to the GF and CR, every one of them is different, every one of them has their good and bad (some more good than bad). Each one will give you a different experience. Depending on what you want and why you chose it, you can find a different experience each time you stay. Since you plan on spending a lot of time in Epcot, I am sure you will find your stay at BC to be good due to the proximity of the resort to the WS. If fast food from a food court is important, you will most likely find something to dislike about the BC. However, that will be tempered with your staying in the CL since you will have all those snacks to tide you over until you find yourself at your ADR for the evening meal or back at Epcot for the choices there. Happy planning!!

Sinderelly, thanks for the post-trip report. I'm glad you found good things at the BC. Good luck with the BLT.

Sinderelly- thanks for your honest report! As others have said, there are different things each of us likes and dislikes about the different resorts at Disney. It's just like the attractions at the theme parks. For some, Space Mountain is the favorite. Others enjoy the Peoplemover. It is great that there is so much to choose from to hopefully please everyone!

Thanks for taking the time to snap some photos for me and for the site! I will send you a PM with information to upload to my photobucket account, or to email the pictures if you prefer.

Thanks, again!

Dee

I just emailed you the photos. DH is still trying to get the May activities schedule scanned.

We are staying at the BC for the 1st time next month. I don't know why I am so nervous. I really wanted the YC but no rooms were available. We are taking my mom with us for the 1st time and I want it to be extra special. I know what to expect from the YC and feel at home there. I think that's why I am so nervous, the unknown factor. We are staying CL with a GV. Any ideas on what views to expect or what area of the resort we will be in?:)

We are planning our first Disney trip for next April 2012. We have 3 children that are 5 years and under so will plan on spending most of our time in Magic Kingdom. After lots of research we are leaning on staying at Beach Club Villas. The pool sounds like it will be great for the kids. My question is it convenient to get to Magic Kingdom and other areas of Disney? I realize it is in Epcot. I would appreciate anything anyone can tell me about Beach Club- Thanks in advance!

By the way... why is it all of your Beach Club photos are so much better than the ones on Disney website??!! Thank you for posting them- I'm getting a much clearer vision of what this place really looks like:)

In 2006 and 2007 we stayed at the YC and loved it. In 2008 we gave our children and grandchildren a gift of a Grand Gathering - all expenses paid. We couldn't get a discounted room at YC only BC. I was a nervous wreck on how we would like BC after loving YC.

First we had pixiedust and were upgraded to BC CL.

We found out that we loved BC even more than YC!!!!
Of course we also got hooked on CL so now we always stay BC CL!

Don't worry - if you are like me even though you love YC you might find out that you like BC even more!

Yes - luckily it is to each their own or everyone would want to stay at the same resort.

We visited POP once and knew right away it wasn't for us. Of course we might have just hit a bad day but when DH saw people in the food court in bare feet that was it.

We tried to stay at POR once - that lasted for less than two hours before we changed and went back to our original favorite , the GF.

For us it's BC, YC, the Polynesian and the GF in that order.

It seems like everyone has their own "special place" and that's why Disney has so many different resorts.

Hi Teena, do you think this will be completed by November?

I'm planning to be in the parks most of the day so obviously impact will be minimal but it'll be good to be 'prepared' just in case I decide to go back to the resort for a nap.

I've heard in the Fall and I heard December too ... I think it will all depend on weather factors ... if we get lots of rain, obviously that slows things down big time.

This is Marlton Mom posting live from Cracker Barrel via her smart phone. We were sitting on the rockers out front pretending that we were on various Disney rides and that got me to thinking.

Did they ever fix the airconditioning on the friendship boats or is it still hot as an oven on 'em?

This is Marlton Mom signing off from the front porch of Cracker Barrel restaurant.
