By the way... why is it all of your Beach Club photos are so much better than the ones on Disney website??!! Thank you for posting them- I'm getting a much clearer vision of what this place really looks like:)

Why thank you! That's the love coming through in the photos!

I snapped between 1,500 and 2,000 photos with my trusty point and shoot on each of our last two trips- a few were bound to be decent! Especially the food pictures- food porn is my passion!

We are fortunate to have lots of contributing photographers who have given permission to me to post their wonderful photos. I'll be adding a few more pictures in the morning that Sinderelly just provided to me.

Glad you are enjoying them!!!

We are staying at the BC for the 1st time next month. I don't know why I am so nervous. I really wanted the YC but no rooms were available. We are taking my mom with us for the 1st time and I want it to be extra special. I know what to expect from the YC and feel at home there. I think that's why I am so nervous, the unknown factor. We are staying CL with a GV. Any ideas on what views to expect or what area of the resort we will be in?:)

I think when you stay CL, it limits the risk of being at a far flung end of the hallway room. The CL floor seems more compact. We had GV CL and what I can tell is that most of the 9 GV CL rooms are near to the elevator and the lounge per the CL CMs we asked. Everytime we went to EPCOT and walked through the hotel to the quiet pool to exit, I thought that I would hate to have the rooms way over there. You would be close to the quiet pool but a little walk to the SAB.

We had a view of an interior court yard straight ahead and could see SAB to the left. There were a couple other GV CL rooms next to ours that would have had the same view. We could see the high fireworks from EPCOT.

I have no other Disney resort to compare to but we really enjoyed the bright and light atmosphere in the BC. I was so sick of the long winter and rain that it was so nice to be in a setting that seemed like you were at the ocean but weren't. We really, really like CL and the staff there. They were such a big help and really made you feel welcome.

Unfortunately, I feel that once you stay somewhere for the first time and have a great time, it is hard to replicate it somewhere else. I think now none of my future trips will measure up to staying at the BC. I am almost afraid to try somewhere else.

Have fun and enjoy!

This is Marlton Mom posting live from Cracker Barrel via her smart phone. We were sitting on the rockers out front pretending that we were on various Disney rides and that got me to thinking.

Did they ever fix the airconditioning on the friendship boats or is it still hot as an oven on 'em?

Just back from our first stay at BC CL and I must eat crow. I was excited about trying it but I never thought I would waiver from the Poly. Nothing could be as good as that right?! WRONG!! I now humbly submit to you and ask to become a full fledge BC card carrying member! Holy Moley.... why did it take me so long to try it?!

We stayed GV CL and had amazing view of fireworks at night from illuminations. The CM were AWESOME and were able to change tons of our ADRS and get us some great ones that I couldn't get. They brought out special snacks and drinks for my kiddos during off times and were in general amazing.

SAB lived up to the hype too! I was worried about my young kids in the pool but didn't need to be at all.

WE ALL LOVED BC! Even my daughter (4) said this was the best place to "live"! Oh if only we could live there sweetie if only!! Now it's time to start planning the next trip .... and there will be no resort saga from us anymore... BC all the way!

So happy you enjoyed your vacation at the BC and loved it as much as you did!!! Hearing that makes my day!

It's great that you enjoyed your stay there.

Well that settles it.

Apparently everyone on this board who has been riding those friendship boats back and forth to the Studios has passed out from heat exhaustion and is unable to answer my question as to whether the AC on the boats has been fixed.

Disney hates a scandal so they must be pitching the bodies overboard for the gators to get.

Nom, nom, nom....

We are planning our first Disney trip for next April 2012. We have 3 children that are 5 years and under so will plan on spending most of our time in Magic Kingdom. After lots of research we are leaning on staying at Beach Club Villas. My question is it convenient to get to Magic Kingdom and other areas of Disney?

Is it convenient? No. Is it doable with a little patience? Yes. With the three kids under age six you will certainly find challenges with the bus transportation and all. However, you will find there are some great benefits to staying BCV. With proper planning you will get through it. Lots of posts here on this thread that can give you some great ideas on how to get around with the least discomfort. Some will tell you what a terrible experience they had with the transportation system and strollers while others will have different stories to tell. It gets down to expectations. You will have good experiences or bad, based on what you expect and demand from your vacation home. I hope you have a great time planning your stay!!!

Haven't been on one of those boats in over a year but I think Jeanne rode it when she was here in April. I'll email her.

Does anyone have a picture of the bounceback card from the room?

If nobody has one, maybe someone who is lucky enough to be headed to the Yacht Club or Beach Club could take a photo of it. Pretty please! :flower3:

For those of you who do not know what a BBO is, this is from the FAQ section:

What is a Bounce Back Offer?

Bounce Back is a promotion offered at selected times throughout the year offering a discount on a future trip if you book WHILE YOU ARE STILL AT THE RESORT. It is usually left on a card in your room, but if you don't see a card, you can dial #8844 from any resort phone to see if a bounceback promotion is being offered and what the eligibility requirements are.

You MUST book it before you check-out. Once you get home, you can change the dates or cancel it. However, once you check-out, even if you give them your reservation number and say you were just there, they won't allow you to book it.

Okay if there has been AC on those boats in the past I must have missed it. Every time I have been on those boats have been HOT!

You are one of us!!!!!

I used to feel the same way about the Grand Floridian until I tried YC/BC.
I think the BC CL staff is fantastic!

So glad you had a great time - we can't wait to get back!

They had "working A/C" when we stayed at the YC in '94 :lmao:

I remember cause I just loved riding on the boats. I surely hope it is working for everyone heading to Disney soon and when I am there.

Marlton Mom Don't give up Hope !

Hey Robyn- thinking of you.

When you posted about your mother last week, you mentioned that she would be released from the hosptial to rehab if everything went ok. Is that still on track?

Hope you have some good news!

When we were in the area in Jan, we didn't use the boats, we walked from DHS along the walkways, it was our snooping expedition for which resort for August, lol! Walked thru all the Epcot resorts, BWI, YC & BC.

But when I do take those boats, we try getting a seat in the back in the open area, so at least there is a breeze.

You better not get heat stroke, I'd hate to see you go overboard for Gator snacks. But just in case you better leave me the treasure map for the buried CL goodies first, before you take the boats :goodvibes
