9 more days and I am checking into BCV:cool1:

Just have to get through this very tough week...my MIL passed away on Sat. so we have the wake and funeral to get through. She had COPD and was suffering with her breathing for many, many years. Even though it was inevitable it is very hard to see anyone pass.

This vacation will be very needed to bring some happiness and joy to the family (My husbands 2 brothers and their families are staying at SSR so it will be good for all of them).

Happy to have something good to finally look forward too!:yay:

Walking comparison ---

Can anyone who has stayed at both contemporary / BLT and BC tell me how the walk from contemporary to MK compares to the walk from BC to MGM? It seems to me that BC to MGM is longer, but can't confirm. Tried to get the feel of it from one of Robo's maps but just can't grasp the distances and want to be prepared for our upcoming BC stay. (8 more days!!!!)

Thanks!

We stayed at BLT on our last trip..The walk from Contemp to MK was about 8 to 10 mintues..The walk from BC to hollywood studios is about 20 minutes at a leisurely pace.

Have not stayed at BLT but from a handy dandy little internet tool and some experience with both....

From Beach Club door past Yacht Club to Hollywood Studios @1.15 miles.
From Bay Lake Towers to front of Magic Kingdom. @0.48 miles.

So about twice as far.

As others point out, it takes longer to walk from BC to MGM. And it involves time travel. It's DHS now!!!

And please know I am only playfully teasing.

My best friend was chastised a couple of years ago when she was at DHS and called it MGM, but since then, as recently as a year ago, I have seen some Disney-issued paperwork that still refers to MGM.

And I still rather refer to POR as Dixie Landings, it just sounds better!!!

And the TTA will ALWAYS be the "People Mover". I think they changed the name back, right?

I'm still waiting for them to change the Carousel of Progress song back to "Now is the time!"

But first, they need to restore the Living with the Land song.

I really miss that when I am vacationing at the Beach Club.

It has been awhile since I have been to COP- I didn't know there is a different song!

Prayers to you and your family during ths difficult time. I hope your time at WDW helps in your healing process after your loss. Last August I lost my mother to cancer. We went to WDW 2 weeks later and it helped I think to get my mind off "things".
I just lost my father unexpectedly on May 10. I find immersing myself into planning my Nov/Dec trip to WDW helps. Best wishes to you and your family.

Although we have been 4 times to WDW our trip in Sept 2012 will be our first staying on site. We picked the BC for the fab pool and EPCOT, as we love the Food and Wine Festival! Over the weeks I have been reading all of the posts and I am glad we made such a good choice, which makes me even more excited (only 452 days to go!). So my first question to all you BC experts is, as a UK visitor can we use the online check-in service, or is it only available for people travelling from within the US? :confused3

I was wondering if anyone ever used the internet at the BCV. I am in online classes and can not take off from them. The first week we will be there I will technically will be in class. I got my advisor to lower me from two classes to one. (All my classes are 5 1/2 weeks long and I usually take two at a time) It is very fast paced but I am keeping up with all A's. Anyways even if I work ahead they have a policy where I have to check in and at least respond to someone on the disscusion board. So I am looking at getting at least one day of internet while I am there.

Two years ago I paid for a families trip and they stayed at pop. She was in school like me at the time and she lost a half a day and two mornings with the internet system there. They said the service was not controled by Disney so they couldn't help the problems she had.

I don't want any problems when i hopefully will only have the need of just a few hours.

Has anyone used the BCV internet? How does it work? Is it still 10.00 for a day? Any problems?

Thanks!

Searched around for this answer..but not successful...and then I thought others may wonder too.....how far of a walk is it from Beach Club to the Boardwalk area - is it better to go past Yacht Club or around the lake?

Actually, after I realized what I wrote, I was expecting to get "yelled at" by someone. :goodvibes

Thanks! What handy dandy internet tool did you use? I'm usually pretty net savvy but couldn't find one. I even tried Google Earth.

It is not far at all. We always went like we were going to EPCOT and crossed over the bridge and you are at the Boardwalk. Maybe 5 min?
