Any more ideas on the scavenger hunt and/ or how to tell him that we are staying at BC in a special way?

You could print off a few of the photos and maps from this thread and wrap up a few pieces or a box of salt water taffy.

While my students were working on their living rooms, I decided to play with the layout for "our" special room. Remember this is just the main area. We go have additional daybeds in the back room along with the supplies for Marco Polo, Scooters Races, Towel Animal Making and even a washer and dryer for the Laundry Service!

Let me know if we need to add more.

This is just PERFECT! Of course there is no way you can draw on paper the way the room expands and contracts based on occupancy. Teena's throne was just in the right spot and the day beds look way too comfy.

This is brilliant!!! I've had a difficult week and this made me laugh and laugh and laugh.
I love the hydraulic lift to allow viewing of multiple fireworks shows as well as the mankini-wearing House Boy.

Hey Everybody,
1. Just finished out first full day at AKL. It really is a beautiful place with so much to do. But as you might guess our conversation always bleeds back over to Y&BC. We were hot and tired at EPCOT yesterday and more than once one of us would say “If we were at the Beach Club……..”
2. I really like the AKL. I love the Beach Club. Still having a wonderful time with our animal friends
3. About the dining reservations. We have gone with a lower number and no problem.
4. One thing about being flexible. We have checked in up to three hours early (yesterday – Via Napoli) . And no problem Just cancelled our later ADRs.
5. Hope to get by and see Teena tomorrow or Sunday. (and my beloved BC.)
6. While at the BC I Plan on stopping by BC front desk and show them the new closet layout and ask where they would like this room located. Only fair I check it out. You know how rowdy ole Chip n Dale can get. I’ll really don’t want any of my lady friends getting hurt.

My heart and prayers go out all the families affected by the horrible storms that passed through Wednesday. Horrible. Just Horrible.

No, no, no, you don't get it - it is a secret closet. Sheesh.

Do not, ask for their input. If they know where it is located (and the bedding configuration) they will put it on the system and then anyone will be able to officially reserve the room. And then I can only imagine the number of parties greater than 5 that will by vying for the super special room.

We don't need to worry about rowdy rodents or other noise. There will be an invisible noise reducing baffle around the room, so the average guest and CM walking by will have no idea there is anyone (or anymany) in the boring old closet. After all, it is just a boring old closet.

Thanks for the update! We're stopping by AKL in August to take a look and have dinner at Jiko - would love to hear your AKL dining reviews when you return home. Have fun!

YEAH! Didn't you ever read Harry Potter? We are talking about the Beach club "Room of Requirement" here! The Room of Requirement is a secret room within Beach Club that only appears when a person is in great need of it. The room then transforms itself into whatever the guest needs it to be at that moment in time.

If you give up the existence of this imaginary room to the computer that schedules the thundering herds of beach club guests then the jig is up! They will start to charge us for fireworks view and there will be a day bed fuel surcharge .... or something!

Shhh! Have another sunkin treasure and cool off from the heat over at that there Animal Lodge. When you're ready, we'll fluff up some pillows for you in the Mousekeeping fantasy closet/suite and help you to come back to reason!

Ha, ha, ha! How about two houseboys-- Capt Jack and the 10th Doctor! I think they could both rock lime green mankinis! And we might as well throw in the 11th Doctor, too--wearing a lime green mankini with a bowtie and fez.

I want to thank everyone who gave me scooter advice for my mom. She was able to get a really good deal with Apple Scooters for their smallest 3-wheeled scooter. They gave her a cheaper rate than what was posted on their website. I'll let everyone know what we think of it.

My poor mom is going to really need this vacation. A tornado touched down just a few miles from where she and my dad live. Thankfully, all of my family are fine, but she has been working in the destruction areas due to her job and she is just exhausted. They got power and phone service back tonight, and she is really grateful for that. It was a bit scary when we couldn't get in touch with them yesterday. Thank goodness for email!

I can just imagine the delight of all those families when they hear of the room with with five daybeds.....of course if certain weeks were allotted to a certain SC 'board member' named Mickey, then all could be forgotten

Can someone verify the hours of the Crews Cup Lounge at the Yacht Club?

According to the front page info (not my info originally), I have midnight.

All ears and the DIS both list 10 pm

One reason I want to clarify this info is that the lounge has a pretty fancy-schmancy menu (I think they get some yummy stuff from the Yachtsman), and if it IS open until midnight, it gives late night travelers another dining option.

I agree AKL is one beautiful resort, happy you are liking your stay there, it's only drawback is the location. Enjoy your vacation and eat some zebra domes for all of us.

I went to page one but can't find the map with the "secret" entrance to the BC by the quiet pool. Can anybody give me some more information about how to find it? We are staying at BCV and I am familiar with the area but never used that entrance.

This is the post from the first page about the entrance near room 1501. This is the only "secret entrance" I know about- but there certainly could be others. I think some people have mentioned an entrance/exit near a laundry room (is that the YC or BC)?

If you go to the "Beach Club Resort" post (Post #5), the info below, along with a picture of the pathway, is at the end of the post

There is a side entrance/exit to the Beach Club which takes you mere steps, probably 3 minutes, from the International Gateway Entrance. It is near room 1501.

This was really handy for us a couple of times this summer when it was wicked hot and when it had just started pouring.

You have to go through a lot of hallways to find it, so the best way to do this is to follow the signs to room 1501 from the lobby.

I am still in the process of restoring photos and links from the closed thread. I am trying to do one section a day. The BC Resort Post, YC Resort Post, Beach Club Villa Post and Club Level Posts all still need some work.

Yes, yes! The Room of Requirement! That's exactly what we need.

I can't wait to read the review of Jiko. We had originally made our August date night dinner at Victoria & Albert's but due to budget cutting measures (we're buying our house!!!), we switched to Jiko.
