Hi Dee - thanks for the new thread again! Just found it! Working full time is busy busy, I miss Dissing, but having priorities is sometimes just not fun!

O.K. secret entrance, the one by the quiet pool? I think it is posted to use card after 11:00 PM, I honestly do not remember ever using a card in all of these years. Also, the door by the VB court - never went in late enough to need to use card, but believe this is supposed to lock after certain hour as well. I need to go back and read and figure out which door you are referring too, I think we have used them all :)

Glad you found us!

I am talking about the one near room 1501- is this the one near the quiet pool? The one very close to the International Gateway?

I have not used the one by the volleyball court.

Sorry if this has been asked or mentioned before, but...

I think I read something somewhere about movies being shown on the beach at YC? Does anyone know what movies and what time this starts?

Thanks muchly! :flower3:

Yes, there is a campfire, with roasted marshmallows on the beach every night followed by a movie. There is a listing on the first page of the movies for April (which is now, essentially, over). The movie listing for May should be available in the next few days, and I will post it when I have it.

Time changes throughout the year, based on when it gets dark. I think I have the current time posted, and I have asked a guest who will be there tomorrow to confirm the time for me if she can.

Safe travels! :woohoo:
You are on I-95 already? Are you driving from Pitt?

When I posted we were on I-95.We actually live in Erie,PA and drive first to my inlaws in Gettysburg to leave our dog with them. We get on I-95 around D.C. We then drive from there for about 9 hours and stay overnight in Santee, SC. Tomorrow will will drive about 5 1/2- 6 hours to Orlando. Our round about way takes us about 22 hours. We won't get up too early but are usually early risers anyway- Probably get to Orlando before check-in. Hoping we may get lucky to get into our room early but if not we will find something to do.

On our way back we are driving straight thru to Erie because my oldest has a school commitment he does not want to miss. I am trying not to think about that part of the trip!

HAVE A FANTASTIC TIME!!!

Teena should be working tomorrow, so hopefully she will be around when you are checking in, so you can say "Hello"

Can you check the time for the campfire and movie on the beach. And ask the lifeguards what the hours of SAB are. I know the hours are subject to change, but I can try to update the times monthly to see how that goes.

I will get the information!

What time does Teena's shift end? I don't want to miss her!

I'd say stop by my house--I'm on the SC/NC line :hippie:

We are staying tonight in Santee, SC. This is a usual stop for us. Are you near Pedros- South of the Border? My kids always want to stop there and look forward to reading all of their billboards along the way.

I'm in Wexford, PA Pittpanther fan! :) Hope you have a great trip! :)We are staying YC too this summer. It is my favorite resort! You will love it! :)

Oh yes, as a matter of fact that new Karamell Küche in Germany has a pneumatic tube system that delivers the chocolates to the Mousekeeping fantasy Suite, and somehow, along the way they lose all the calories.... so go figure!

We are now in talks to get one of those Dole Whip machines next to the beer tap by the hot tub. I'm telling ya the place is HOPPING!!

~MM

I was just going to suggest that!!!!! :lmao:

So that ONE glorious night I will be at YC...just became TWO!!! :cool1:
It was cheaper for us to fly home on Monday night and we have to check out of our time share on Sunday so we needed a place to stay from Sunday to Monday.....YC it was!!!!

(And yes I am well aware that it is ultimately costing me MORE money to stay at YC over night then it would have been to fly home Sunday, but hey this way we get an extra day at Disney and the YC! woohooo!!!!!)

So if you could add me to the list for July 24th as well that would be totally awesome!

To all the Disers checking in the BC/YC in the near future have an amazing time!

I love going through Santee!

We live a little north of South of the Border--that is in Dillon County, SC. We live in Robeson County, NC, near exit 2 on I95.

I don't envy the trip all the way from Orlando to Erie. That'll be what? About 18 hours?

Greetings, Beach Club aficionados (and those of the Yacht Club and the Beach Club Villas as well)!

In spite of many stays at many Disney resorts, all of them great happy experiences, long have I yearned to bask on the shores of Crescent Lake and to dip my toes in the pristine waters of Stormalong Bay, to harken to the fleeting peals of laughter and giddy merriment emanating from the exquisitely imagineered Secret Housekeeping Suite of a Million Dreams, and to dine at Cape May. This morning I jumped out of bed at 5:30 a.m., saved some time, skipped the line* and checked in online, bringing my vision a mere ten days closer to reality.

All of the usual suspects who have journeyed to the World with me multiple times are unavailable for the final week of the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival so this will be another solo expedition for me. Thus I hope to have time to regale you with images and accounts of the highlights.

Doubtless many of you will be happy to learn that I have not requested any of the elusive full balconies, new-style daybeds, or unobstructed views of IllumiNations. I am eagerly awaiting my first glimpse of whatever rooftop or expanse of asphalt my happy Standard Room has in store for me!

The hasty help and ready wit of those who contribute to and maintain this thread (and its predecessor) have mightily enchanced my anticipation of the Beach Club goodness I am so looking forward to experiencing. My thanks to all of you accompanied by my earnest wishes for your good health and many magical Disney moments.

See you real soon among the blooms!

*That was Disney's way of putting it, of course; I know that I may not actually skip any line by checking in online. And even if it didn't offer the chance of saving any time, I would have done it anyway, as I have done ever since they started offering it, just because of the magical effect it has on my outlook on life.

:laughing::laughing: Have a great trip!

I think Teena works sometime around 9 or 9:30 to 5:30 or 6.
- ish

If she is not there in the lobby, she is either on lunch break or helping anther guest with something. In the past she has said you can ask where she is and someone at the front desk should know.

Again, safe travels and and have a wonderful trip!

It is more of that Disney Math. It makes perfect sense as long as you understand Disney Math! I love it.:yay:

I wonder if I will hear from YC IPO saying they bought my MNSSHP tickets? I hope so...

I would think so, I had to email them on something yesterday and they sent me a quick email back asking if I still wanted MVMCP as they were starting to purchase the tickets today, I then got an email this morning saying they'd purchased them :)

I'll wave when we drive through in August! :thumbsup2

We'll be driving down too at the end of August. Taking a bit of an odd way on our first leg, down the PA tpk through Philadelphia and into Newark DE. We like that stop right off I95 and love eating at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Then continuing on down, we'll stop, again, in Florence SC. This is our first time driving to Disney so it should be interesting....

OK, I have asked each of the members of my family if they remember if the BC alternate entrance door (not to be confused with the secret closet access) required a keycard entry.

Now that I think about it, I am typically several paces behind my family snapping random photos, so I would never be in the position to have to use the card reader to open the door.

My husband says he is 80% sure that there was key entry for the door, but it may not have been required in all instances (the two times) we used this way in.

My older son says "Maybe. Maybe Not" He doesn't remember

My youngest son says "What secret entrance?"

This is all very odd and troubling to me because normally my family has excellent powers of recall.

So- anyone else who has made use of this door: What do you remember???

That still would not answer the question about where a BCV key card, or a YC key card for that matter, could be used to open the door if indeed a key card is required.

Hi Dee! As a relatively frequent user of the "secret entrance" near 1501, I recall that there is a key card entry. But during the day, it was not necessary for us to use our key card. I do remember using our key card for the secret entrance very late at night - returning from Epcot evening EMH, for example. Not sure about the hours, but the "after 11pm" that HockeyMom mentioned sounds right to me!

I do not recall using our key card for the entrance near the quiet pool and the mid-hall elevators. And I'm also not sure about YC and BCV key cards.

Hope that helps!

Wow, that does add some time, but the result is sooo worth it!:thumbsup2
