99 Days!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::dance3: :woohoo: :yay::cheer2:

I can't believe we will be there in 99 days...doing the double digit :dance3:

CL here we come!!!!! I'm so excited, finally broke into double digits!

Yep. Photopass isn't doing the private resort shoots anymore. There was a transition very recently with all private shoots shifting over to Disney's Fine Arts Photography. There are 2 choices offered now. The mini-session is the one most similar to what the old Photopass resort shoots were. It costs $150 for a 20 minute shoot at one of four deluxe resorts (Poly, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge, or Grand Floridian). ....
Thanks. I'd really like to do the enhanced photo session, but it is above my budget this time. However, I am going to remember this because I believe in 2012 we will be travelling with my brother's family, and maybe they would split the cost and we could get a special photo session then!

Thank you for answering the question about the refill mugs at B&C!

Ale & Compass (YC)- ???

Thanks!
Well, when we were there in 2003 Ale & Compass sold and refilled the mugs. I stopped by every morning for my Diet Coke fix, and my parents/inlaws for their coffee fixes.

Hi Everyone!
I've been lurking on this thread for awhile, and the info. on it and all of you, are just awesome!!!:worship: My question is this. We want to stay at the Yacht Club for a short visit in April (there are 4 of us, 2 adults, DS 16, DD 12). What category of room do we book? I don't want a roof view, we like quiet at night, so I am thinking of a garden view. Needless to say, we are first timers. What do you think?
Garden view sounds perfect for you. Plus, it's not that much more to get the better view, so go for it!

Welcome mouselike! doccoc's advice is spot on. Follow it and enjoy!

And speaking of doccoc....You doing OK? Still sending prayers your way.

Has anyone order from Garden Grocer or Wegoshop?

DH had one of those really funny breakdowns when he found out he could only get Coke Products on site. I actually had to laugh at him about it. Once he got over threatening to stay off site and meet up each morning (provided he could find a hotel that carries Pepsi products), we decided we are going to have to get Mountain Dew to the resort somehow. And while I know BC IPO is amazing, I don't think that is a request they can help with. So I am going to order from one of the stores that delivers since we won't have a car.

pittpantherfan and cindydare Thanks for the additional information and clarification on those LV CL rooms...

pittpanterfan The deluxe rooms sound like a nice option...wish they were on the same floor as the lounge though...I am all about convenience on vacation!

Cindydare Maybe I will request that room ( I know its just that..a request..but I'll keep my fingers crossed! ) ..sounds like it would be perfect! 92 days!! :yay: Lucky you...

doccoc :dance3: double digits!!

natebenma  on all of those messages! LOL!! I am a disney guide book pack rat..dont even want to say how many I have...let me just say that I buy the same ones EVERY year...:upsidedow You never know what new information there might be....:rolleyes1 I agree with the PP this thread really is chock full of great info...:thumbsup2

We used GG last year and they were great! We had cereal, milk, deli meats/cheeses, bottled water, etc. delivered. Just keep in mind they do have a minimum delivery fee of $40 (I think), I hear there is a new fuel surcharge as well, plus tax and (optional) tip.

We've always used garden grocer and never had a problem.
We'll be using them again this year.

Here I thought my days of being queen of the resort changers had changed.
Once I found YC/BC I thought I would never change again.
But, I originally had the Polynesian TPV CL booked for the first two days of our Disney trip.

Last night dd was saying she wished we had booked GF instead. I had checked a few times to see what was available but it was always just TPV or LV rooms. Funny thing - after dd said that last night I checked again and
GF Sugarloaf CL opened up. I went back and forth and finally left it up to the kids - they picked GF!

So now it's two nights at the GF and then 15 nights at the Beach Club!
I can hardly stand the waiting!!!!

First time poster. I prefer not to call myself a lurker- it sounds a little creepy. I am more like an interested reader trying to soak up as much BC info as possible. I didn't want to post until I read everything on this thread. (Part I and II). I don't even want to tell you how long it took me!
We will be staying at the BC from Aug 4 -10. Can we be added to the August list? I am so excited. We have never stayed here before. We have stayed at CBR twice and WL once. Last time when we were at WL, we walked through the BC and fell in love. It's been 4 years since we've been to Disney. We are also celebrating my birthday and my DS 16th birthday during the trip. My DH and DS 18 will be there to join in on the fun.:yay:
Thanks for all the wonderful info. Most of all thoughts and prayers going out to everyone going through their own ordeals.

WELCOME:cheer2:

I hope you love the BC as much as we do.

This thread is filled with great pictures, great information and most importantly some of the nicest people!

Anyone have a decent photo of the CL fridge, with the drinks (soda/beer) that I can use in the CL section on page 1? None of my pictures of this are great, and I have a couple in my file, but not the permission to post them.

Thanks!

Dee

I do not, but you know I'll be looking for photo missions in August! :)

Welcome, NY MOM!!!

Robyn, we were just talking about GF yesterday! I'm feeling like after all these years at WDW, we should also try its flagship resort for at least a night. Even though I don't like the lobby smell at GF, I can't discount a resort based on the lobby - I would need to actually stay there to have an informed opinion. I know you're a GF vet, so I would love to hear your comparisons of GF and BC!

Well, officially I reached 180 days to go today, and we all know what that means - yep, ADRs. So at 2:55 am my time I was logging onto the WDW site. :surfweb:
Did pretty well, until the site (or my connection) went poof at 3:45 am. I might have been slowed a tad by my compulsive quest for a lunch ADR at the Garden Grill. So, after the computer poof, I called at 4 am my time to finish up the last of 10 days of deluxe dinning ADRs. And may I add a personal thank you to the CM who graciously explained to me about GG not serving lunch.

I still have 2 TS to 'spend,' which brings me to my YACHT CLUB related question (to abide by the dis rules, as I am strictly pro coloring w/in the lines) we are not WDW breakfast people mostly because we never quite accept that WDW is in another time zone, but we will need to make 2 breakfast ADRs to use all of our credits - any suggestions as to where? Keeping in mind that the closer to the YACHT CLUB the restaurant is, the later we can sleep in.

On a personal note - I would like to announce, that I have managed to figure out how to add a ticker, see below. However, as I was accomplishing this personal triumph on very little sleep, I didn't realize that what I thought was the friendship boat steaming towards Epcot's WS entry past the Beach Club was actually, well..., another boat heading elsewhere, c'est la vie.

Pixarmom- For years we thought we would NEVER leave the GF.
It was really great when the kids were very little and we spent most of our time at the MK. On our first trip with the little ones we never even made it to EPCOT!

Some people think that the GF is stuffy. We never, ever felt that way because there were always tons of kids in the pools and in the restaurants, just like any other Disney resort.

Now the kids are older we spend more time at EPCOT and DHS. We fell in love with the whole EPCOT area and of course SAB.

They are both fabulous resorts. We really liked the Polynesian too.
We spent so much time at the GF when the kids were little that we're a little nostalgic as so many memories are there. Everytime I see the kiddie pool at the GF I can just picture my ds, who wasn't quite yet 3 our first trip, playing there. We have an inground pool at home and he didn't want any part of that at that age. He thought he hit the jackpot with a pool where his feet could touch the bottom! We barely got him out of that baby pool to go to the parks.

We would rather spend the longer part of our vacation at BC/YC, but it's still nice to have a few days at the monorail resorts. We never got that warm feeling from the CR, but tons of people seem to love the new Bay Lake Towers.

I have heard great things about the Cape May character breakfast right at the BC. Also across the "Lake" at Boardwalk is Kouzinna (sp.?), the breakfast menu looks GREAT. that is on our must do list.

Last year we enjoyed the Captain's Grill for breakfast at YC. Easy to get in, you can order off the menu or have the Buffet.

We had a fabulous breakfast at Kozzuna and it is right on the boardwalk.

I'll be staying at Bay Lake Towers for the first 2 nights of our November trip. I'll be posting live when I arrive, I'll let you know how I feel about it. We were at the CR when DD was 8.. I was making lasting memories for her and thought what little girl would not want to wake up with the castle starring at them... it wasn't her!! I was more excited for that castle view than she was, but I wasn't thrilled with that hotel, but really I would be happy anywhere at Disney!! My home resort is AKL and I love it there. My favorite is POR I'm sure because it reminds me so much of where I grew up. Love YC for the location. DD has a thing for POP though we have only been there on our way to or from a resort on the DME... so in November we are going to go there so she can look around. I don't think I'll ever stay there but you really never know!!

And now the real reason for this post... I get to see the ticker!!

and now that I see it... still sooooo far away!!! I did start out at over a year ago though so I am getting there!!!

~Nannette

Robyn and Nannette, just LOVE your posts! Reminds me of the way I feel about the Poly. That's part of the reason we returned to the Poly for our pre-schooler's birthday weekend in January - so nostalgic for me! When my parents joined us for our trip in February, we had to make a choice: Poly nostalgia vs. WE ALL LOVE BC! I talked with them about it and we were all in favor of BC (and went to Poly for breakfast!)

Nanette, I wonder what our oldest will really think of CR when we actually stay there someday. Our youngest cried the last time we went to dinner at Cali Grill because he thought we were returning to the airport, but our oldest has always loved the monorail so I was thinking of a one-night stay there sometime before a transfer to BC. Can't wait to hear about your November trip!
