2011 Wine & Dine Halloween 5k Fun Run

Plan on going to the Expo for your 5k packet on Friday. Disney really wants all packets picked up at the expo. Historically, the 5ks have allowed race day packet pickups, but until you read in the FINAL 5k instructions that race day packet pickup is allowed plan on Friday. The fianl instructions will be published in September.

Anyone here looking for a partner to do the half relay? My training has been going great and I would to love to find someone to run this with. I would prefer to do the shorter leg, but may be willing to try the longer one...

Hi Everyone! My family and I are going to be running the 5K too. We are not staying at one of the designated resorts tho. I was wondering if anyone knew about parking at AK? Will we be aloud to park there or should we drive over to one of the designated resorts and take the bus? We are planning on staying at AK for the day so I would really like to drive and I don't really want to deal with the stroller on the busses. Run Disney seems to have a lot of info for the Half but not for the 5K. Any help would be great. Thanks!

There was ample parking at TTC for the 5K during last year's Wine & Dine ½ Marathon Weekend and more than ample parking at Epcot for the 5K during Marathon Weekend and the Princess ½.

I would assume (and also hope since even though staying at a host hotel I am driving) there will be more than enough parking available.

I don't know the answer, but I am sure you could call Run Disney. I have had to call them a couple of times and they are super helpful.

Anyone know how the sizing runs on the Disney Store "Run Disney" Champion tees? They are wicking shirts, but I'm afraid they'll run small. I just don't know if the sizing chart is truly reliable for their running shirts. In everyday clothes I'm an xsmall to a small, but I've found in the past with some disney shirts that I go up even to a large depending on the fabric (potential for shrinkage) and style.

They sell the Champion brand running shirts at Target. I think they run pretty true to size, maybe even slightly big. If you can, try one of those on before you order.

BTW those shirts are really cute. I'm definitely getting a magnet and probably a shirt too!

I am digging that decal and the shirt too. I might wear a costume, well partial costume. Just trying to think of something that is light and easy. This my first Halloween 5k. Should be fun.

Great site thanks! Hoping to run the 5K but also want to see my kids in the kids races at ESPN and hoping thetiming will allwork out so I can do both. Got a lot of great info from this thread.

I believe the timing for the kids and the 5K is the same as during the Princess Half....my daughter and I ran the 5K together and then she went to run the Kids Race, plenty of time to make both! If your kids are older there is actually ALOT of waiting since they do the younger kids races first. We hated all the waiting so decided that DD would not run the Kids Race this time.

The reason for Disney races are to bring runners to WDW and extend the trips as long as they can. Curious what the race fees will be tomorrow? I expect a several tier level that they have begun

I would agree with you on that but I am actually annoyed with Disney because they do not offer a 10 day park ticket at discount through Run Disney, they only go up to 7 days. So I plan to run this race around a vacation and I am staying in FL or 15 days and doing WDW for 10 days but they won't give me a discounted ticket You want to know what they told me......"pay 2 5 day tickets" Its more expensive that way, why would I do that....dah!

Anyways if Disney wants people to go and stay longer they really should offer a 10 day discount ticket to being doing the run. And I am doing both races and my family is also doing the 5K, really you would think they would give me the discount
