2011 Wine & Dine Halloween 5k Fun Run

Um. Where have you guys seen the official dates for 2011 MNSSHP? :confused3 Or are you just assuming they'll be held the same days as they were held last year around the W&D Half?

They are getting them from the closing times at MK during Sept. hours. The hours posted have Tuesdays & Fridays closing at 7pm, which normally means that will be a party night! :thumbsup2

That's a good point but Friday is the only MNSSHP during my trip so I'm just going to have to make the best of it! Nevermind the fact that I'm also planning on Food and Wine Friday during the day!! I certainly won't be in the BEST shape for the run but what can you do?! :confused3

I did MNSSHP party the Friday before the 5K and the race was fine. More than anything it was my first race so doing the party was a great way for me not to think about it and get nervous. It was a nice distraction.

Can someone please clarify the races and dates and times since the 5K info isn't up yet.
The half is Saturday night 10pm, correct?
When is the 5K?
When is the after party? (What time does it start)
What is the after party?
Thanks!

Did everyone see that registration is now open for the 5K? It'll be run in Animal Kingdom this year.

Perhaps the change of park is due, in some part at least, to the 40th anniversary of MK?

Cost is $50 plus fees for regular 5K.
$55 for the stroller division.

I think the 40th anniversary may very well be why it was switched but at the same time they often move the location of the 5K around to the different parks for marathon weekend so I don't see why they wouldn't for the Wine & Dine too.

I was thinking that too. It's a little disappointed, as I had been picturing the whole thing in my mind for months! I just need to process this! :lmao: I'm a spaz!

If you are a spaz, then I am too! I was disappointed as well b/c I had pictured it while running as well. Also, there doesn't seem to be a Halloween theme, so I'm guessing less people will dress up and the characters won't be Halloween themed either?

Still excited and we're staying offsite, so it will probably be MUCH easier for us to get there that morning now, I'll just have to start imagining running by EE now instead of the castle!

Dang, I too had visions of running through MK on the 40th anniversary morning. Well I guess we'll just have to head over there after the race then. So excited that the registration is up a month earlier than they originally told me though.

I went on yesterday afternoon, then last night at 8 I got an email saying registration was open. I was so excited the price came down a lot then I saw that it was at AK. I, too, was really hoping for a MK race. I did the EE at the AK 2 years ago and I would love to eventually do a race at every park. (5k)

I could have gone either way with Halloween theme. The costumes were fun at the Princess so I imagine the costumes were fun last year at Halloween too.

But I did register us both since we already have hotel and air. We are also staying offsite that trip since we wanted to get a condo with another couple.

If I am getting the waitlist screen when I go to register, does that mean that it is full?

I just went onto the registration page and I don't see where you are getting a waitlist screen for the 5K. Looks like there is no problem registering now. I can't imagine it will fill up too fast anyway--try again if you're ready to register.

I did register and got a confirmation of payment, but not the event registration (that my teammates got). So, historically, it doesn't fill up right away? I don't want to call and book our room with Member Services if I can't run..

This is the screen it took me to when I first went to register:

Waitlist Policy
You are required to enter your credit card information to be put on the waitlist. Your credit card will not be charged to place your name on the waitlist but held in a secure manner so that Disney has it on file should you be admitted into the race.
1) You will receive a confirmation email that you have been placed on the waitlist however this does not guarantee a race registration.
2) If a race registration becomes available the next person on the waitlist will be accepted and Disney will charge your credit card on file the entry fee, plus the active.com transaction fee. You will receive a confirmation email if you are accepted from the waitlist and registered for the race.

I get this screen too.:confused3
I am not prepared to register if I go on the waitlist. I want to register my whole family and if one of does not get in then none of us want to do it...it's something to do as a family.
I only got the email yesterday notifying me that registration was open. Surely it can't have reached capacity already.

I registered on Thursday night and got a confirmation of payment from Active.com but not a confirmation of registration from Disney either. When I click on the payment page it gives all the info I typed in that night, so I am guessing we will get it this week.

You said your teammates actually something from Disney saying they registered?

If you register an account with Active and make sure you are signed in when you register you can go back in and get your confirmation. Those of you getting the wait list screen are you sure toy are clicking the link for the 5k? I didn't think there was a limit on the number of runners for the fun runs.
