2011 MNSSHP Tickets

Has anyone experienced MNSSHP being sold out... other than right around Halloween? For last week of September, MNSSHP is 2 nights... I'd rather wait until we arrive to WDW to buy tickets so we have a weather report... then decide which night. Thoughts? Thanks!

last year i recall a lot of questions like these... people said tickets were fairly easy to come by in september when walking up beforehand.. but you never know why a particular night will sell out over another.

We went the last week in September last year and had prepurchased tickets to the first MNSSHP of the week. It rained on and off all night but we still went. There were hardly any lines and we actually had a lot of fun (although we were minus any kids). We wanted to go back on the second party of the week, which was on a Friday and were able to get tickets at 3pm the same day. It was a beautiful night and a LOT more crowded, perhaps since it was a Friday?

Is there a remedy if it does rain the whole night? If you choose not to enter the party at all and you already have the ticket, can you use the tickets for another night? I'd assume refund or some kind of disney credit wouldn't be an option.

It never hurts to ask. Last December it was bitter cold and some of stage shows had to be canceled, and I understand they were offering people tickets for the next party. Man...... you should have seen how crowded THAT one was! :crowded:

1- Is there a remedy if it does rain the whole night?

2- If you choose not to enter the party at all and you already have the ticket,

3- can you use the tickets for another night?

4- I'd assume refund or some kind of disney credit wouldn't be an option.

1- Not in general.
2- You'd lose your money and the party.
3- Nope.
4- All ticket sales are final (officially.)

That said, there have been isolated instances of really poor weather when those who did attend received a "rain check" that was good for a single day's admission to MK on a later date. (The guest could use it within a year or so.)

We plan on going the week before Halloween on Tuesday October 25th. I think there are five parties after this night. I was wondering if I can hold off buying tickets too as I don't want to shell out the extra money this far in advance.

Also eager to hear about this.... I'd like to hold off on ticket purchase too, but we're going right at columbus day weekend and that Friday may sell out... thoughts anyone?

:thumbsup2 If it's like the MVMCP tickets, you CAN exchange them for another night or get a refund PRIOR to use. The ticket (card) has the party date marked on it. So, you can't just show up any night with the ticket, it has to be on the date printed.

I wasn't feeling well during our December 2010 trip and really was in no shape to attend MVMCP that evening. DH was being sweet and decided not to go without me. So, he went down to the Guest Services at our hotel and got a refund on the tickets. They first gave a credit to our KTTW (room) and refunded the positive balance when we checked out. So, if you do purchase the tickets online and decide once you get there you don't want to attend that evening or at all, there are options. :wizard:

:wizard: I have on my calendar to call or go online this Friday to purchase our MNSSHP tickets for our Sept/Oct trip. I just came up with that date from past years. The dates are usually "officially" released and tickets ready for purchase by Disney the last week of April. However, they have been known to change things up too. So, right now it is just a waiting game. :rolleyes1

Keep checking the Disney website for updates. Link HERE

Once, the tickets are ready for purchase, there will be information on the website with party dates, pricing and an option to order the tickets online (You can have them mailed to you or pick them up at Will Call before the party) or call 407-W-DISNEY .

I think whether you get a refund (prior to the party) or a "rain check" if you don't go to the party depends a LOT on the CM's involved. We were supposed to go to the MVMCP a couple years back and it was pouring - I mean like biblical plague kind of rainfall. The CM's at the hotel said we could just go to guest services at the park and they would apply the ticket cost to the price of a 1 day park ticket (we were gong on a cruise the next day and wouldn't be there on any other party nights). We stood in a hellacious line at MK guest services (well over an hour wait - never seen it like that before or since) and they said our party night wasn't an official "rain out" :confused3 so we couldn't apply the ticket cost. We told them that the CM at our hotel said it would be "no problem" and after some chatting with various other CM's, they gave us a 1 day ticket. Well, we try to go through the turnstyles and the tickets don't work. Thankfully, we were able to skip the same enormous guest services line and they changed the tickets to 1 day park hoppers since we had so many issues (we didn't ask, they just did it for us).

Long story short (I know, too late), you may or may not be able to use or refund your tickets on a different night. We took our chances on MNSSHP last year and got lucky on the weather. Trying to decide whether we will risk it with the Christmas Party this year or wait to buy tickets til we're there.

Apologies to OP, this response is a comment about the bad-weather discussion

Our family attended MNSSHP on September 14th, 2007. It rained most of the evening and poured during the periods when it wasn't just raining. There was lightning and PoTC was closed for a while due to some technical difficulty. Only one of the two parades occurred and the fireworks were so obscured by clouds that they appeared as dull flashes behind a thick, white translucent surface. We still had a great time! Our party dawned Ponchos and splashed through the evening.

However, Disney recognized the disappointment to many guests and changed the ticketing for that night’s special event ticket – they converted them into 1-day Magic Kingdom park entrance tickets with an expiration date of 1-year. So we were able to go again to the Magic Kingdom within that 1-year period. I believe that Guest Relations also allowed for special variations on this compensation if a person did not have plans to attend within the 1-year period but I do not know the extent of what guests received.

We plan on going to this one too!!Hope to see you there!:thumbsup2

:wizard: FYI - I saw on another thread that the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets go on sale May 1, 2011. Link HERE

Also, they were given pricing information:

I didn't see whether there was Premium or Non-Premium pricing. We'll just have to wait and see tomorrow ... :surfweb:

About three years ago, my husband had to fly out of town for work very last minute and didn't get to come to WDW with us. We already had the party tickets (which was sold out that night), so when we went in, since it was sold out, I thought it would be nice just to give back the ticket, just in case someone needed just one and since we couldn't use it anyway. The girl at the ticket window said, "No, you can't give it to us, but we'll buy it back from you!", and that is just what she did. She handed back the ticket price to me in cash, to my complete surprise. That may be one of those YMMV situtations, but it happened for us.
