All right so those of you there now what are your fav. things?? We'll be there next Mon. for our 1st ever F&W! Don't want to waste money on crappy stuff since our budget is tighter than usual this trip!

Six more days... count them 6! Then I will be sampling that fine food and wine at Epcot. I cannot wait. :worship:

we are getting the the same time and are also looking forward to it!

Though my wife is currently pregnant so I will have to do the drinking for two ;)

Thanks for all the pics iluvpluto27. How did you like the Lammington in Australia? That was one of the things I wanted to try this year. It looks good but how was the taste?

2 more days until arrival at BWV & 3 more days til I'm eating & drinking myself silly around WS! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

It was nice, basically a vanilla spongecake, encased in chocolate ganache topped with coconut. The flavour reminded me of a snowball but I don't know if you get them in the US, marshmallow coated in chocolate topped with coconut?

A quick rating of the food i have tried so far 1-5 1 BAD, 5 WONDERFUL!

Canada - Cheese Soup - 4
Ireland - Fisherman's Pie 5 (had it twice!)
France -Coq au Vin 5!!!! looked a little unapplealing but OMG good!
France- Creme Brûlée 1 Sugar top not crisp enough. Rest of it blah!
Mexico - Shrimp Taco 4
Poland - Piergoles 3 (and these used to be a favorite)
Portugal - Calamari Sald 3
Cheese - Cheese sampler 4 However others around me were not as happy. you have to like cheeses that introduce themselves!
Belgium - Waffles with berries and whipped creme 3 good but not really something I couldn't have at the Fairfield Inn breakfast bar :)
Belgium Mussels 5 i have no idea how they make these in mass quantities and still do a good job

I have also had some good wine/beer but I am not trying to rate them

I was there for the preview and bought the wrist gift card. Used it at 2 booths, and realized the card fell off the wrist band. Had to go to guest relations and it took 30 minutes to replace it. The wrist band is a great idea but it will break. Keep this in mind. We were lucky no one had used it.
That happened to us last year and this year we just our room key and everything has worked fine.

I am looking forward to the smoky wheat... Saw it today but did not try it.

My biggest disappointment today was the cuddler... the shell was huge....I was so excited, and the meat inside was as big around as pencil.... all wrinkled and no flavor...

Huge disappointment.

Sorry if this has been asked before....are the food booths open during EMH?

Well that's a huge bummer. I saw a pix on easywdw.com and it looked really big. I don't want to post his photos without permission but here's the link

I was definitely planning on trying this. Maybe you just got a bad one? ( I can hope). ;)

OrangeCountyCommuter - Thanks for all the ratings. Planning to sample your "5's" in less than 4 days.

Bummer! I was planning on trying this too. But, with so much to try, I may have to skip it, unless I hear you got an odd one.

Highlights:
Cheddar cheese soup, shrimp tacos, Sweedish meatballs, Pumpkin mousse, sausage in Portugal, and the Xente cocktail in Scandinavia

Lowlights:
Shrimp on the Barbie, Mahi mahi (overcooked), ribeye taco

K
Great reviews, thanks! I will go for the Shrimp taco over the ribeye.

Posting to thank you all for the great reviews and info!

Does anyone know if the dessert trio from the desserts and champagne booth is 1 snack credit or 3?

Thanks for reviews OrangeCountyCommuter. I took notes.

Hope you post more....

Today's dining and a few I forgot

Greece- Chicken with taziki (too lazy too look it up) 3, not bad, not outstanding

Mexico -RibEye taco 4 Pretty good, scallions should be cut up not a whole one IMHO

Caribbean - Jerk Chicken with salsa - 2 salsa was good. Chicken was a greasy drumstick

Hawaill - Pork Slider - 4, very nice

USA Lobster Roll - 2 Very disappointed. Looking forward to this, lobster itself was kind of tasteless and seasonings were not traditional lobster roll

Italy - Spicy Shirmp with pasta. 3 Has a fancy name, but it was just shrimp with pasta OK

According to the picture posted on easywdw.com you can get either a single dessert for 1 SC or the trio. Sounds like a no brainer to me. :cool1: He has a photo of the menu with the price $3.75 and the DDP logo right next to it. I was happy to see that. ;)

thanks OCC. More notes to make. :)

Dang...i see a lot of mixed reviews on some of the items.

I'm sad to hear the lobster cuddler and roll aren't so good, but alternately I'm glad they have restored quality to the fishermans pie. The first time it came out we had a whole claw folded over in the bottom. Last year there were just lobster "bits." DH was perturbed to say the least.

According to the first bites review from the link above, the pumpkin mousse is a no brainer.

We do F&WF every year for my birthday. I don't mind trying dishes for myself to decide if they are any good but the problem comes when I'm spending $7 to find out! LoL

Just a few more days! I'll post a pictorial review when I get back!
