**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

I called and asked for information on the seminars that will be available for booking 8/12. After some computer searching by the CM I was told they are called deminars. I was told that the Deen Brothers are there on 10/22 at 1 & 3 and Gale Gand at 5. That's a Saturday so it's my understanding that can't be booked until the 16th. I don't know for sure if any of this is correct. Almost all of the other names that I was read for the 7th thru the 22 were names I did not recognize. I scribbled many of them down but I'm not sure enough to post them.

I can't believe you ate the whole thing, either. I DID NOT!! It was raw!

And I meant presented, my dear. :p

:rotfl:

We appreciate the information you have shared. Thank you. :thumbsup2 It still astounds me how unorganized things are again this year (deja vu to several years back :headache:).

Interesting...I think that term was actually coined by Oybolshoi, can she sue Disney now? :lmao:

That is awesome if they are called deminars by Disney. Oybolshoi's word will be added to the dictionary. I wonder if she put a trademark on it! :thumbsup2

Just got my email from DVC saying that there are discounts and early booking by calling the DVC members services phone number.

"Enjoy Member prices - and early booking privleges - on select culinary experiences at Epcot International Food & Wine Festival this fall, Setpember 30 to November 13, 2011. "

"To learn all about this year's Festival offerings (we've just scratched the surface here), visit www.disneyworld.com/foodandwine. Then, beginning on Friday, August 12, you can call Member Services to book your culinary experiences - that's 4 days before they become available to the general public! (Note that these experiences are quite popular and therefore tend to sell out.)"

So I called to talk to someone about the schedule while I am there.

and over half of the scheduled times had TBD listed as the items/ place for the demos and seminars.

But they told me the locations and it seems that they are at different restaurants all over the Disney or the CM did not know what they were looking at.

I got nothing from my call...:headache:

Where are these normally held? I'm not going to leave Epcot for a short demo? That makes no sense.

I think that what the Disney Dining CM was seeing is that most of the chefs who doing the demos are from restaurants all over the WDW, not that the demos are being held all over WDW.

The demos will once again be presented in the Festival Center, which is the former Wonders of Life pavilion.

Well that makes way more sense. But it sounds like the chefs are listed the, at least for some dates.

For the past few years they have been at the festival center, inside EPCOT, going out on a limb, they should be there this year.

You just made my day. We made the decision not to do the sweet Sunday event with Gale Gand but we really want to see her. :yay:

This isn't seminar info either but might be of interest.

From AllEars: Flying Fish Cafe on the BoardWalk will host several wine dinners during the 2011 Food and Wine Festival, in addition to its previously announced official Signature dinner on November 3, featuring Moet & Chandon wines. The dates for the other wine dinners are: October 6 (wines by Domaine Serene); October 13 (wines of Spain); October 20 (wines of Argentina); November 4 (Markham Winery). Individual announcements about these wine dinners will be released closer to the dates, and you will be able to book reservations at that time through Flying Fish. NOTE: This Signature dinner on November 3 must be booked through Disney Dining, 407-WDW-DINE when general reservations for the Food and Wine Festival open on August 16.

We did the Chefs Wine Dinner on our last trip and loved it. Trying to squeeze this one in on our arrival day.

My apologies if these were asked before, I haven't read thru the entire thread.

1. Can you get a GAC for the party for the senses? For guests who due to mobility issues have a hard time stading for long periods of time? (I realize wine view lounge would take care of this concern, but is there special reserved seating for guests needing assistance in addition to the lounge?)

2. Are there AP rates, TIW rates or Fla resident rates for any of the experiences? (I see there may be DVC rates, but this doesn't apply to us).

TIA!!:goodvibes

TiW and AP members can get discounted rates on deminars on Mon-Thurs. Booking starts tomorrow morning for AP and TiW members.

I've only ever done F&W at DCA so this will be my very first Epcot F&W. I have a question about Magicale. At 2010s DCA F&W I bought several bottles of this wine. Do they sell bottles of it at Epcot's as well? If so, will they ship it home for me? I know in some states shipping alcohol is illegal. Thanks so much!

The brand Magicale is specific to Disney branding thanks to Michael Jordan. However Brachetto d'aquii is the varietal of sparkling wine from that region. You can find that sparkling wine at Bevmo for $28 per bottle and it tastes pretty much exactly the same. :goodvibes:

I haven't been home since about 10AM my time, so I haven't seen my email in a while. Did they say which events could be booked? Do we call when MS opens tomorrow? I hope the four that I want are included!

The deminar schedule is up on the disneyworld site! :cool1: Here's the link:

Just my luck the pastry chef I've really been hoping to see (Buddy Valastro) at a deminar instead of Sweet Sundays is doing one on a Sat. :sad2: Don't really want to go to Epcot on a Sat. over a holiday weekend. Looks like I'll be springing for the Sweet Sunday ticket.

Edit: Here's the link for the beverage seminars too:

1. I don't think so. I think the staff will try to help you out but I have never seen reserved tables and there is not a staff member to help you to the front of the food lines at the serving locations (and depending on the food/chef there can be long lines. Some of the visiting chefs are "celebreties" or just like to chat. I had a pastry guy from Food Network (Keegan) a few years ago who wanted to know my life story! :) ) You can take your wheelchair and/or scooter for "built in seating" but it may be a little more difficult to get around...

2. TIW and AP discounts for "deminars" only on Monday - Thursday. Everything else is "discount free"

I just found these too! I can't post links from my smartphone so I'm glad someone else did! Thanks Horselover!
