2011 DISers Halloween Party Dates & Costumes List

We are booked 10/4 - 10/10. I'm hoping we can catch a weekday MHP. My DH is not much for dressing up but we were at the Disney outlet this past weekend and they had the shirts that look like Mickey / Pluto / Goofy's shirt with their name badge and he was willing to do that. Now we just need to get the matching hats which isn't a problem since we live at WDW. I normally love dressing up but flying the costume from FL made me cut back this year.

It is still going to be a blast!! Just need Halloween party tickets and some dining reserservations. Everything else is all set!!

ducky_love, would you like for me to add you to the October Check in list?

I understand about packing a costume. When we went to MNSSHP back in 2006, I faced the same decision. My girls were a lot younger and their costumes had all that toule (sp?) with their Disney costumes. Good thing I don't pack very much in the first place. I ended up taking their costume in a separate bag which had a lot of room. Used the extra space for souvenirs on the way back. Wish we had the shirts you described. I have never seen them here in California.

I have a few questions for those who went last year trick or treating. Do you need to wear a costume, or would a Disney Halloween shirt be okay to trick or treat in? Does anyone have a map of where all the stands were in relation to the rides? What did you do with your candy while you were there? Did you take it on the rides? Did you trick or treat first, take your candy back to your room and then ride rides? Did you put it in a locker? When is the best time to get the most candy when trick or treating, at the end of the night, or at the beginning? Did anyone order tickets in advance, if so, how long did it take for them to arrive, and are the Halloween tickets only sold by Disneyland, or does Getaway today sell them? Sorry for all the questions. I miss Disneyland!!!
So, I am dreaming big and trying to scrimp, save, etc, to make a trip at Halloweentime happen. Maybe even passes and a day or two at Christmas too! AAahh. I love dreaming!
I have gotten my 'hotel envelopes mon:thumbsup2:cool1::cool1:ey' together! Now, just saving for the hotel, tickets, meals, etc....:rotfl2
Thanks a bunch! :dance3:

Going to follow this thread! Our AP's will expire the last week of Sept. but we would love it of our year of Disney ended the same week as a Halloween Party! :thumbsup2

I see the dates have been posted for WDW but nothing for DLR..when should these dates be released?? I have a trip booked and really want to get those tickets as soon as possible.

nunzia, DLR dates are usually released in late May. So hopefully soon. In the past, tickets go on sale in early June for APs, DVC members, and Disney Viisa card holders in June. Tickets for the general public go on sale in late June or early July.

There are lots of DISer's waiting for an announcement, me included.

Joining in the wait! I had a trip planned to WDW but I am thinking about switching to DLR this year instead!!

Disneyland had the shirts with name tags as well as some other character ones available last year. My friend wore one with a missing goofy head so she got the Goofy Hat and I wore one that looked like Mickey's Sorcerer Robe. You can see pics in my October Trip Report... I am hoping to go this year and will probably wear the same thing.

WE'RE GOING TOO!! Had a blast last year.

Just don't know when yet. Waiting on the MHP dates to decide and they should be released soon!

candygirlIRE - We assume the party dates are going to be released by the end of this month. That's what we expect. Disney could always switch things up on us - they have switched things up on us before. But this is what we are anticipating.

The dates will likely be mentioned in a Disney Parks Blog piece - if they do a story on the party. The dates might also be mentioned on the Disneyland News website (where the press releases are). They could be mentioned on the D23 site... Basically any official Disney website could announce the dates.

Just to demystify the situation a bit - most likely (no confirmation yet), the Halloween party will begin on Friday, September 30th. It could begin on Friday, October 7th, but we think that sounds too late.

After the start date, the party (Mickey's Halloween Party - or the MHP) will most likely continue its pattern from last year and take place every Tuesday and Friday night in October, with the final party being on Halloween night.

The only real question we have is if, indeed, the party will start on 9/30 and if Disney will add in any extra nights this year (as they used to do when the party was held in DCA, before it relocated to DL), in addition to Tuesdays and Fridays.

Come join us in the Halloween at DLR Superthread!! The first and second posts on Page 1 of that thread are helpful in giving you an idea of what to ride/see/do/buy/eat during HalloweenTime at DLR!:dancer:

Those are fantastic pics!!!!!

I have a couple of ideas for dress up... I have a tinkerbell costume from years back that I will need to drop a few pounds of post-baby weight to get into  - my son will likely want to be a pirate (he will love your pics) - I think I can talk my eldest daughter to be either a star wars character (princess) or something from alice in wonderland - and our baby girl will OF COURSE be a princess (or tink! like mommy) -- my hubs will likely go with a pirate theme like our son (maybe I can talk him into something else??).

ok, so i noticed there are two threads for the Halloween party...

which should i be posting on??

ok, so i noticed there are two threads for the Halloween party...

which should i be posting on??

OK there are actually 3 threads that are relevant to an October trip...

This one is specific to the Halloween parties and once the dates come out will include when everyone is going to the TOTP and what they will be wearing...in case we run into each other at a party, A new one of these is made every year.

There is also an October check in thread that would keep track of which DISers will be there in October and want to meet other DISers...it also includes hotel info if you want to add that...this one also is a new one each year.

The MOST important one and where most of the chatter goes on is the Halloween at Disneyland Superthread this one continues as the same or Part 1 part 2 etc and is the same thread year after year where all the holiday experts hang out to answer questions share memories & post pics of DL at Halloween.

Hope that helps!

I am really hoping that the first Halloween party will be on September 30th. I will be at Disneyland from September 26th to October 2nd and then again from October 9th to 13th with a cruise in between. I have been to MNSSHP at WDW in 2009 and loved it. I have never been to DL at Halloween time. All my visits were in March or April.

I would love to go on September 30th, which would then give me the option to go again after the cruise and then I would hopefully be able to convince DH to come with me.

Corinna
