When I worked on Monday, I was told it would be running by this Saturday if everything went according to schedule.

I'm sure you'll give us a shout out if it is up and running.

I can't look at those boats without thinking of my Dad. I spent an August afternoon in the parks with the girls but my Dad spent the afternoon on the boat. He got off and had a beer somewhere on the BW but otherwise kept going in circles. I said "You know that isn't a ride, right" He said, "But it was airconditioned the whole time." Disney is what you make it.

Thanks for all the advice on calling reservations to add my sons friend to the reservation... he gets free dinning too, I didn't think it was available to more then the four of us. He is so excited to be going especially after the tragedy of loosing his Dad and brother in last year. I love the look on peoples face when they experience Walt Disney World for the first time... my husband, 6'4, cried when we checked into AKL... the lobby took his breath away. Anyway...
I have another question for the experts...
We are going to be in Orlando a few days before we check into BC, staying at a relatives house, because after all the years of going to WDW we are finally taking the kiddos to Universal to see Harry Potter, they are HUDGE HP fans. My question is can I get my park tickets early? We are booked for a five day hopper and the fifth day we are checking out at 6:30a.m. and will not be able to use that day at the park so its a complete waist of money for us. Since we are in Orlando can we pick up our tickets the day before we check in so we can use the fifth day as our first? I hope I am explaining myself right... I did call reservations and they told me I would have to call the resort. I know how busy they are with people in front of them, never-mind having to answer my question that is months away from staying, I thought you all may have the answer for me. Thanks in advance:)

I have got my tickets 3 days early. There often is threads on this subject and it seems to happen pretty frequently.

For everyone who is sick I hope you all get better soon. I have been following this site for about a week and I am loving it greatly.

I am having a great day. Last night we went to the annual conservation dinner/award meeting. My son who is homeschooled won runner up in the county for his essay on soil conservation. I am so proud! Just wanted to brag a little! More reason why I hope we can pull off our suprise of staying at the BC for the first time. He dreams of staying there and I hope and pray we can pull off this surprise! I can't belive that I am going to be a mother of a teenager by the end of the year!

Here is my little man last night with his trophy:

Any neat little tricks about the resort I would love to know. We will be staying over at the villas so any tips would be great!

Others will probably confirm or correct me, but I do feel pretty positive that you wouldn't be able to get your Disney tickets early...you need to be a checked in guest at the resort for them to issue you the tickets (since you got a package, correct?). If you were paying for everything separate, then you could buy your tickets anywhere and use them over the course of your stay.

Yes, we do have a package and use a pin for free dinning. What if we booked a night at POP, then can we get our tickets early?

does the commodore or admirals suite have a full size refrigerator? what about the deck suite?

thanks for answering if you know!

This is correct.

Your tickets are associated with the package. The package starts the day you check into the "package" resort.

If you buy a package, I do not think you can get your tickets early since the ticket is part of the package and the package starts on your check-in day. However, if you booked a room-only and then added on your tickets, you could always call back and tell them you want your tickets early and for them not to be on your room key ... that would be possible because it was really a separate transaction. Your room is one price, your ticket is another price. However, in the package that includes free dining, room and tickets ... I've been told you cannot separate them.

Does anyone know how difficult is it to get a patio room on the first floor by the quiet pool? I'm not even sure how many there are, and if people that book a water room usually want those as a first choice or not?

I think you'll find most people that book a water view room want a view of SAB or the lagoon, not the quiet pool.

That would NOT work for you because you need to keep the tickets on your package with DDP.

You need to check out the ticket thread on the theme park board:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

It sounds like you should be able to do this:
Picking up Package Tickets Prior To Start Of Package

In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up.

It is only valid for people with packages at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort. You can be staying off-property at the time you pick up the tickets. Note that if you have a package which includes Dining, although you can pick up your tickets early you cannot get access to the Dining until you have actually checked in to your Resort.

There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.

And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in.

The package we have booked is a free dinning package so getting separate room and ticket reservations is not an option. Would I be able to book a night at POP and get my tickets that way? I WISH I could add another night at the BC but five are all we can afford. Pop is only a little more then what we are paying for the condo in Orlando per night where we start our vacation to visit Harry Potter so transferring over to Pop one night is do-able.

Thanks again... this site is amazing and you are all so nice with your quick responses:)

I don't think staying at Pop a night earlier would help. But according to the post above, maybe it is possible if you go to guest relations. However, I've never heard of anybody being able to do it before.

Nope this was a package booked. A lot of people do this too, there is threads every so often on this. We had a package booked at BC for 8 days, and we booked a room only at POFQ, and many people had told me that I could get my tickets early and sure enough we did. It didn't seem that big of deal when we did it either. I was skeptical though.

Greetings from the flu house!!!!! :lmao: I just got caught up on this thread, you guys have been busy today! I am trying to pack for four people and play nursemaid, and TOMORROW is my birthday!!!! :cloud9: I can't believe we will be at the BC in just a couple of days. :goodvibes I'm going to wear my birthday pin for good luck at check-in. ;)

The weather forecast is improving and I can't wait to feel the Florida sunshine!!! It's supposed to snow here Saturday :scared1: so we are getting out just in time. :thumbsup2

Am I the only one who literally uses 100 ziploc bags when packing?? :rotfl:

I think the lack of sleep and stress of the flu is making me loopy. :dance3:

Very coool!!! Thanks for sharing!

When I read your original post I thought of what I had gone through 22 years earlier when I lost my dad in January on his 54th birthday. My parents were divorced as well. I have 2 bothers who I do not talk to because to his passing and greed. In September 2010 I received a small amount of money from the sell of some Florida swampland my parents owned together. This past October my DD and i went to Disneyworld and had the most amazing dinner at Shula's courtesy of my dad! DD turned 4 the day her grandpa died so at 25 we toasted to him and said thank you for the amazing dinner. Having a nice dinner and some drinks was my way of honoring him with the money I had received (it covered the cost of that dinner, Florida swampland isn't worth much!!) I have amazing memories at Disneyland with him, so I know that day he was smiling down on us while we had a drink and good food at Disneyworld!!

Hang on to all those memories... they truly do help.

~Nannette

Thank you, :grouphug: I'm glad you got to celebrate your father's memory as well. I'm looking forward to our turn in September.

Jen, great photos! I love the old tickets - wow - great memories! We're headed in your direction in just three days - but the weather is looking yucky. I go home for better weather over spring break - I think I'm just having a bad weather travel year!

Ah HA! So I should blame you for the freak snowstorm we're supposed to get early next week?

I'm watching the sky right now, looks like some storms on the horizon. 70 degrees one day, 20 the next. Welcome to spring. :sad2:

Have a safe trip, any fun dining plans while in the area?
