We got back from a week stay this past Saturday and I must now add YC to the list of my top three favorite resorts. The resort is beautiful, the location can't be beat and the customer service that we experienced was top-notch.

My kids thought it was amazing that we were greeted by name as we walked towards the lobby to check-in. We had a wonderful ground level room with a daybed and a view of a little creek (?) but unfortunately we had extremely loud neighbors and nobody in our room was getting any sleep. And when I mean loud I mean letting their child run down the hall yelling about aliens at midnight on our second night. I called the front desk and asked about being moved which was done first thing the next morning. We ended up with a HCA room on the fourth floor with an even better view - we could see Illuminations. The front desk was sooooo nice about us asking to move and soooo nice about getting us moved. Then my DH got food poisoning Friday night and was up all night long. When I trekked downstairs at 1 am to request more TP the front desk lady and the gentleman that brought up the TP were also both very nice.

The only negative (other than walking past Cape May and smelling seafood, blech), and it is really our fault and not the resort's fault, is that we left our youngest DS's little stuffed "reindeer puppy" (it is really really just a reindeer but he calls it a puppy) in the first room when we moved to the second room. I am 98% sure that it got left in the bedding of the first room so it didn't make the trip to the second room. We did fill out a lost and found slip and every day that we've been home DS5 asks if we got his puppy back yet. I should have checked the first room better before we left so this little :( blip doens't in any way take away any of the awesomeness of the YC.

So sorry about the neighbors. I've had that happen to me at a hotel in Las Vegas. I don't care where you are ... when you are at a hotel, it is unacceptable behavior!!! I called security and they came up and straightened it out. But it sure can mess up your vacation when you can't sleep! I hope the "puppy" is found!!!

We had a 6:00 am pickup on ME for a 9:00 am flight, tried to check our bags at 6:01 am and were told no. So I would make sure you allow plenty of time to get your bags checked before the three hour window. I learned that the hard way. :lmao:

Just checked the 10 day forecast and it looks terrible. Rain every day next week. :sad2: So Teena we might be sitting in the lobby just hanging out with you. :rotfl: oh well, rain in WDW is still better than staying home. We will look for you on Sunday. Supposed to be sunny and 91 that day so we will probably make it a SAB day.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the chips and dip in the lounge? For some reason it just doesn't taste good to me. Will have to try again. If I can pull myself away from the yogurt pretzels.

Suitcases are all over the house!!!! Don't forget to check the LIVE resort board for my posts all next week. :cloud9:

94 hours to go!!!!!!! :cool1:

Lol... I just realized one of you lines at the bottom of your page... Eating Japanese in Mexico... seemed so funny to me.. I clicked... and now i'm hooked on your trip report!!

~Nannette

Just wanted to say Thanks So Much for your nice comments! It's fun to have familiar faces visiting my report!

Looking forward to your live reports!! Hopefully for your sake it's not all about ponchos and torrential downpours!!

Just catching up here!

Nettie, thanks so much for sharing your story about your father. That's a wonderful celebration of his life and a special time for you and your family.

Jen, I just read your pre-trip report and love it! I'm really looking forward to following along with you - those photos of you and your father are so sweet. I can relate because I have similar photos of my dad introducing me to Minnie at DL when I was two - and they are so special to me. You must miss him so much.

Teena, wow - catching up with Art! How fun! And I'm always here to second your comments about Richard. Our pre-schooler (when awake) is always full of energy and happy to share the story of his day with anyone. Richard not only greeted us as we returned to BC each afternoon, but listened intently as our pre-schooler recounted the details of his day. I was sort of surprised that Richard didn't start to hide behind a plant or something when he saw us walk into the lobby!

DeeCeeSW, so sorry you feel that way - I'll second what BCV mentioned about how quickly this thread moves! Wishing you good health, and hope you stick with us. :)

Hi LovintheLodge! No Busch Gardens this time - it's a short visit. So just a short stop at my parents' place and then Jamestown/Williamsburg/Yorktown. But we'll be back as long as my parents are still in the D.C. area, so I have that on the list for future trips! Growing up, I always went to Kings Dominion, but I have a feeling that BG is in a different category.

Wonders10 - yay! I'm so excited for you! I hope you'll post a full report about her reaction and your stay when you return. We really loved the BC club lounge, and so did my parents - I bet your mom will love it too! We're all hooked.

No worries ... when it calls for rain every day it usually means a short shower every day and the sun is normally out the rest of the day. Sometimes if you time it right, you can go into an attraction with the sun out, and when you exit the attraction everything is wet but the sun is back out.

But I would love the company in the lobby too!

I love the chips but I don't care for the dip either. We're the minority I think.

I am so excited that my husband and I are able to afford to take the family to the BC this summer... :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:it would have not been possible had it been for the pin code I received in the mail. I look at my reservation everyday online, check our dinning reservations, etc.. EVERYDAY. July can not come quick enough. Anyway... our 15 year old son just asked us if we can take his friend with us, his friend lost his Dad and old brother last summer in a tragic car accident AND he has never been to Disney. My husband both agreed yet now that we have our reservation all made up we do not want to touch it. His Mom is going to buy his ticket at the local AAA and we are hoping to get a room with a day bed. My question is if he is not on our reservation will he be able to use the great pool I have been hearing about? I really don't want to make an addition to our reservation because the pin is for a family of four and its free dinning. If we add him, 1. we wont be able to use the pin code then which will cause 2. we cant afford it and nobody goes.
Sorry for the long rant but someone please help me. Thanks:)
Oh Boy! Finally a question I can answer... This happened to me also. My DD14 year old BFF wanted to come along with us after we had already booked FD with a pin. I was able to add her to our reservation with no questions asked. Her park tickets were added to our reservation amount but that was the only extra charge.

Hello all! Having a mojito and enjoying the view here at the Beach Club while the wife and kids nap!

Teena- The Lopez family would like to thank you for the awesome service that you provided yesterday! The room is fantastic, and you helped enhance our vacation experience! God bless you and we are praying for a speedy recovery!

Danny

Danny,

You are a lucky man! A beautiful wife and two wonderful children and a Mojito at the BC!!! It was a pleasure meeting you and your family and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Please don't forget to do the exit survey on the day you leave. They are there at 7 AM and hang around across from the concierge desk in the lobby. Just tell them you are checking out and want to do the exit survey. We really appreciate everybody that takes the time to do the survey!!!!

See you soon!
Teena

So excited for you and I love your live reports - we've followed them in the past! On the other hand, at the end of next week (after Williamsburg) we'll be with my parents at their Florida condo just 3 hours away from Disney. Reading your live report will not help me stick to my promise to stay put at the beach. And I just realized my TIW card is still valid.

Our boys do not love the chips and dip, but they DO love the yogurt pretzels. You are not alone!

Over the past year, we've had so much experience with rain that I bring 1/2 a suitcase full of ponchos. (I should admit, however, that my experience never rose to the level of Dee's Fayecation!) Ugh - wishing you sunny skies!

I actually have a pre-trip going (eventually a TR). The link is in my siggie! But I will try to post some specific BC info/pics here when I return.

Should the IPO people contact me or do I contact them? I don't necessarily need them for any planning at the moment, but I would like to at least say hello before our arrival. Will they know we are CL when we drive through security? On our last visit, when we walked into the lobby, we were greeted by name and escorted up to the 5th floor for check in.

Is there a way to find out the hot hors d'oevres each night prior to our arrival?

They should contact you right away but if they don't, send them an email or call them.
Yes, they will know you are CL when you go through security.
You should be greeted by name and escorted up to the 5th floor for check-in. However, when it is crowded at the 5th floor desk (only two desks), sometimes they will do it downstairs and then walk you upstairs to avoid you waiting.
They change the appetizer schedule frequently.

I knew I had to have an anti-dip partner out there!!!! :thumbsup2

Here's hoping for brief rain showers, that I can live with!!! :goodvibes

Ooooohhhh man that is rough!!!! We went to US/IOA last summer and I cried in the airport walking past the Disney store.:sad1: It is VERY HARD to be that close. You will need mega willpower!!!!

I usually try to throw in a few of those 99 cent ponchos from walmart since they will fit in my pocket, plus I always forget the Disney ones at home and refuse to buy more. LOL :rotfl:

IPO didn't contact us at all this time. But I emailed them a few weeks ago and touched base with a couple of questions about boat rentals. I'd say definitely email them. :goodvibes

Great, I just made the reservation change yesterday so I will give them a day. Do you have the email in case though?

Are there items that they tend to serve more often than others? I remember there being more of a schedule, like Monday was this and Tuesday was that. Just trying to get an idea of some of the goodies they may have while we are there!

Thank you! I was a bit worried no one would read it, but then again, I'm having so much fun with it, I look at it as something I can look back on later and laugh.

I do miss him so very much, honestly I don't think I'm even at the point where I am able to mourn. Mostly because I'm still dealing with all the legal and financial drama. (Only child, and my parents divorced when I was very young, so it was really just my dad and I for most of my life.) But I am grateful for all those memories, and pictures.

I think I'm going to dig more "past Disney" photos to pepper throughout my TR. :)

Thank you Teena! The IPO is giving out incorrect information then. I questioned them TWICE on the YC CL GV status and was told both times they are wedding, front view, and back of resort facing covention center b/c you can see green...THANK YOU for making me feel better. I am leaving my YC CL GV status as is b/c I was in alllllll the gazebo view rooms and love them all!And can't imagine front of of resort would be bad...thanks again!!! Melissa

Why I love BC/YC IPO Staff

I have dealt with them 3 straight years for 3 vacations and we have gotten to know each other!!! One IPO member contacted me today to double check my request because she remembers from last year how important the wedding gazebo view was to me and was puzzled that this year it stated " NO WEDDING GAZEBO VIEW". WHAT??? I had made the room reservation request thru the central line and so thankful that the IPO took a minute to doublecheck that....I would have been really disappointed as that is the ONLY REquest I have - WEDDING GAZEBO VIEW PLEASE. Not sure where central reservations got that mixed up request from...
