Okay, I stewed it over for a few hours and I called to upgrade us to Club Level! I actually was going to do GV CL as it said it was available online, but when I called he said all they had was standard view, so that's fine with me, I guess. Actual, online, all the room categories showed up as being available with the FL Res discount. But either way, we are staying Club Level!

Did I mention in one of my earlier posts that my mom things we are still staying at POFQ? I decided to upgrade us and will surprise her when we drive towards the BC instead of FQ. Hoping she won't be toooo upset with me

I'm sure she's going to LOVE the surprise! I have never stayed at YC myself, so we're really looking forward to a special treat this year.

Enjoy the CL!
:woohoo:

Please add me to the April and May list. My DH and I are staying at BCV from April 30 - May 10, 2011.

I'm glad the thread was useful. I completely understand your feelings about the Tamoxifen and publicly said so. I have no personal gain in promoting the drug to others. I need to believe that it's the best thing for me now (as dreadful as it can be at times). I just have not felt well-received here; I think that the other posters thought I might be attacking you personally, which I was not doing and never intended to do. I went through a very difficult time and was trying to be helpful not only to you but to others by talking about my experiences and offering support to others. No one has to accept it, of course, but I have offered it without any acknowledgement from anyone here.

I am not a nasty person and I am afraid that this is how I am being perceived on this thread. I've been on the DIS for more years than I'd like to admit. I've had my good and bad moments. It's unfortunate that some may have misinterpreted what I was saying.

Hope you are feeling well.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I will have to say that this being a "longer ongoing" thread, that people here know one another better, and it can seem a bit clicky at first. I am just starting to post more here and am trying to get to know others, and they all seem like a great bunch of gals (sorry if there are any guys here  , you too).

I'll be going to the YC in August too, and if you're going during the same time, I'll be the gal with the breasts envying your new ones. :lmao: Oh geez, does that sound wrong?? :upsidedow

That's good to know. I was a bit worried after reading they closed promptly at 1pm.
We have a 6pm flight too. So DME at 3pm.
I am going to ask for a late check out and hope I get it for 1pm, so I can enjoy SAB our leaving day. Then check my luggage at RAC around that time, guess a little after 1pm, leave carry on with Bell Service & go get a lunch somewhere. Maybe a CS at Epcot?
Or a burger by the pool? Don't think we'll have the time to wait for B&C, but maybe by Sept 1 it won't be crowded ;) I can have a look anyway! I might get lucky!

Never mind, I just read the post that said they called and RAC does close at 1pm- guess slight time change in plans for me! As I need my toiletries in my checked bag.
You definitely have to check into RAC before 1 pm. You don't necessarily have to check out of your room in order to check in for your flights.

You may have Bell Services hold just about anything for you!! Enjoy the extra time. We went to Beaches & Cream and walked around the lake one last time prior to our departure.

@Teena.......

Oh Teena I am back with my view woes. you know I love my view....Last year Wedding Gazebo at YC CL was divine. I know this view is is sooo limited as well. I know I can also overlook the front of the resort as well as back on garden view. Question is - if I upgraded to Lagoon VIew CL do you think I would LOVE the view? Someone told me that if I am by the lighthouse that is great otherwise some lagoon views might just be a sliver of the lagoon while sitting over someone else's porch rooftop near SAB view. Just wondered if the rooms changed classification for lagoon as well last January? This would be 5th floor view....THANKS! Melissa

Any view that have a view of a rooftop or someone else's porch and only a silver of the lagoon would be a standard view. They actually went into each and every room, checked out the view and reclassified every room last year before the 1/1/11 change over. I think you would love the club level lagoon view rooms. However, the 5 garden view club level rooms are really nice too and I know you would like those views and they are much cheaper.

SueM, although I've never used it, there is a toaster in the BC Marketplace. It's a big contraption....appears to be more like a toaster oven but not quite that either?

DeeCeeSW, I hope you stick around on this thread. I doubt anyone thought anything other than good wishes for you when you posted your experience with the drug. I think this thread moves so very fast that it is easy to feel left out when the reality is that the thread has just moved on. Continued good health to you and happy planning.

Speaking of that kind of thing happening......Amanda, I forgot to add my prayers for your mother and family. Hope all is going well.

Robyn, I'm so glad surgery went well. Prayers continuing here. Be sure to take care of yourself, too.

Made it through the first day of work. Only had to take my pain meds around 1 PM. My one boss said he was coming out to see me at 2 PM to make sure I wasn't doing silly things in the lobby after taking the meds - he was really concerned even though I told him the pills didn't make me loopy. So when he came out later, a guest I knew really well was walking in the door so I said to him, "Sir, welcome to Pop Century". My boss didn't know what to do ... funniest look on his face and the guest came up to me and said, "darn, I thought I was at Allstars Music". He played right along ... it was great. I finally had to tell my boss I was close friends with the guest ... don't think he thought it was that funny. The guest and I enjoyed ourselves though.

Teena,
Happy to hear that you are back to work:cheer2:! I am hoping that I will get to meet you this July! I had the pleasure of meeting Art in 2003 and haven't been to BC since. I am really looking forward to it :woohoo:!

Healthy vibes are being sent your way:goodvibes!

DawnMaree ... you have caused me lots of pain ... you and MarltonMom are so darn funny and after the surgery it hurt every time I laughed. After next week's surgery, I'm going to skip over both of your posts until after I've taken plenty of pain meds!!!!!

Hope to meet you too! Our full time greeter, Richard, who works five days a week is a wonderful man so I'm sure you'll enjoy talking with him. Wow ... that's a long time between BC visits. I'm so glad you are coming back!!!!!!!

P.S. Talked to Art on Sunday. He looks great and is enjoying retirement big time!

I did something similar in January. DW thought we were staying WL and suprised her with GF.....She loved it. But thinking POFQ and ending up at BC Club level. WOW. Enjoy the Magic!

@Teena LAST QUESTION!

You mean there are only 5 garden views CL at YC? 3 wedding I think a nd 2 front? I was told my IPO that the whole back end of YC CL that faced the convention center but NOT parking lot was also considered garden...Was this girl wrong? I hope! If I understand you correctly you are saying YC CL GV consists of Wedding gazebo and front of resort only?

There are a total of five club level garden view rooms at the YC, there are a total of 28 lagoon/water view club level rooms at the YC and a total of 34 standard view club level rooms at the YC. I don't know what rooms are what exactly but you can pretty much figure it out by looking at the room layout map. Remember, before 1/1/11, they went into each room and looked straight out of the balcony and then decided what the NEW category view would be.

That's great to know! I was just hoping for the best w/ our Lagoon View CL room at YC. Now I know we will LOVE the view (I just need to make sure and request a full balcony :)

Thanks for all the great info, Teena!

Now that is funny!!!

Though if I was standing there and overheard you I would of run away screaming!!! You know how much I love Pop

At the YC, all the balconies are full. It's the BC where half are standing balconies and the other half full balconies.

And remember, if upon entering your room, you for some reason just don't like the view, just go to the concierge desk and ask them if there's another room available ... tell them you're not crazy about the view and the reason for it. They will definitely try to get you a view you like (of course in the category you reserved).
