I had my MRI this morning...felt like I was on the Tea cups only lying face down.:lmao: Thinking about Disney:lmao:

DH birthday is tomorrow. We are planning to take the girls to the American Girl store on Thursday but depending on the weather...it's snowing right now as I type this:confused3:eek: I thought it was the first day of Spring...but I am in New England:confused3

DH's uncle past away from brain cancer Saturday so depending on when the services will be we will be heading to CT for a day or two.

The best news of all is that I get to book my ADR's on Thursday. Trying to figure out where I really want to eat.

When do you get the MRI results? Teacups ? I call them Spin & Puke

Sorry about DH's uncle.

Have fun planning your ADR's.

Unless they changed it, we were able to check in for a flight at 6 pm. They took our bags away, and we hung around the resort until DME time.

That's good to know. I was a bit worried after reading they closed promptly at 1pm.
We have a 6pm flight too. So DME at 3pm.
I am going to ask for a late check out and hope I get it for 1pm, so I can enjoy SAB our leaving day. Then check my luggage at RAC around that time, guess a little after 1pm, leave carry on with Bell Service & go get a lunch somewhere. Maybe a CS at Epcot?
Or a burger by the pool? Don't think we'll have the time to wait for B&C, but maybe by Sept 1 it won't be crowded ;) I can have a look anyway! I might get lucky!

Never mind, I just read the post that said they called and RAC does close at 1pm- guess slight time change in plans for me! As I need my toiletries in my checked bag.

I am so excited that my husband and I are able to afford to take the family to the BC this summer... :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:it would have not been possible had it been for the pin code I received in the mail. I look at my reservation everyday online, check our dinning reservations, etc.. EVERYDAY. July can not come quick enough. Anyway... our 15 year old son just asked us if we can take his friend with us, his friend lost his Dad and old brother last summer in a tragic car accident AND he has never been to Disney. My husband both agreed yet now that we have our reservation all made up we do not want to touch it. His Mom is going to buy his ticket at the local AAA and we are hoping to get a room with a day bed. My question is if he is not on our reservation will he be able to use the great pool I have been hearing about? I really don't want to make an addition to our reservation because the pin is for a family of four and its free dinning. If we add him, 1. we wont be able to use the pin code then which will cause 2. we cant afford it and nobody goes.
Sorry for the long rant but someone please help me. Thanks:)

You need to add your son's friend to the reservation as if he is not listed he will not have a KTTW so he will not be able to get into SAB.

With FD , family of 4 just just an example you can have more in your family and still get FD.

Families of 5 get the room with a daybed first so if your listed as a family of four you most likely will not have a room with a daybed, you need 5 persons on the reservation

And since he is under 18 I believe they do not charge for an extra person...someone here will know for sure

Yes, everyone in the room needs to be named on the reservation. You won't loose your pin, as said, the Family of 4 is just an example. And he won't get into SAB, or get a KTTW card with his dining credits on it, and won't be able to get into EMH either.
He will also need park tickets which will be on his KTTW along with his dining credits. Everyone in the room needs to be on the same package. The friend will get the free dining too, being on the same reservation.

Not only will he not have a room key and thereby will not be able to get into SAB, you will not be able to participate in the extra magic hours. You have to show a room key from a Disney resort to be able to participate in the extra magic hours.

You could call and ask if you can add him on to the reservation without tickets and without the free dining. It might be worth asking to see what they say if in fact your pin code is JUST for a family of four. Since it's at a resort that allows five in a room, you might be able to get the whole package for a family of five. Definitely call and find out!

Wow...this thread is on fire!

So as some of you know, I made my theatrical debut over the weekend as the Cook in a Monty Python-style version of The Canterbury Tales.
3 shows down, 2 to go!

Great news on your debut Dee!!

Made it through the first day of work. Only had to take my pain meds around 1 PM. My one boss said he was coming out to see me at 2 PM to make sure I wasn't doing silly things in the lobby after taking the meds - he was really concerned even though I told him the pills didn't make me loopy. So when he came out later, a guest I knew really well was walking in the door so I said to him, "Sir, welcome to Pop Century". My boss didn't know what to do ... funniest look on his face and the guest came up to me and said, "darn, I thought I was at Allstars Music". He played right along ... it was great. I finally had to tell my boss I was close friends with the guest ... don't think he thought it was that funny. The guest and I enjoyed ourselves though.

You're a trooper Teena! Enjoyed your 'Pop Century' story too...haha.

Oh about that American Girl store...too bad my daughter is older now! One year my sister took her there for her birthday and I tagged along. We saw the play, had lunch and did some shopping...great place!

Hello all! Having a mojito and enjoying the view here at the Beach Club while the wife and kids nap!

Now that's my kind of relaxation Bigkid! Sounds wonderful.

Ugh! I need to stop reading this thread. After making a huge leap a few days ago and upgrading from POFQ to standard BC, now I want to upgade to CL! We did it on our last visit to BC (Summer 2009) but only for 2 nights. I'm trying to figure out if its worth the extra cost...I know we'd use the breakfast for sure. The pre-planning is done. Hmmm....thoughts?

As others have said, I don't know if it's worth the cost for everyone, but last summer we were upgraded which was a wonderful and unexpected surprise. We were not on the dining plan and ate breakfast there every morning (well my teen-age kids slept through it a couple of times!). Prior to the 'pixie dust', we made some purchases through Garden Grocer for some breakfast items to use for several days along with a case of water, some soda, juice and milk. CL worked out well since they offer what we like to eat for breakfast at home. With it being so hot in the summer and taking breaks back at the hotel we stopped by there often, even if only for a few minutes, for snacks, drinks (water, soda, juice, coffee and of course DH and I enjoyed our wine and beer and an occasional evening cocktail!), appys, and dessert. As Robyn mentioned, those homemade chips and dip in the afternoon are great. So for us on this trip, we would have benefitted even had we paid for CL as we really only made one big dinner reservation per day.
Hi guys - just checking in. My mom came through the surgery and we are taking it day by day. I really, really appreciate all the prayers and well wishes.

Good to hear Robyn. Hoping the best for your Mom and Amanda's Mom too.

I loved meeting you last August at our mini Dis meet!
I'm praying for your mother.

Hi Nettie! Yes I enjoyed our DIS Meet last August...I just wish I had a trip ticker!!

Hi pixarmom! - Are you going to the spring 'preview' at Busch Gardens? My family loves Busch Gardens Williamsburg...gorgeous park!! In fact, we visited with my brother and his family around Christmas and went the 'Christmastime'
there. It was beautifully decorated and was just so festive! We haven't been there in the summer since 2006.

And to everyone else with an upcoming trip, Happy, Happy planning!

I'm sorry you feel that way. I apologized earlier and tried to explain why I was so excited about not having to take Tamoxifen (my past experiences with killer hot flashes). I certainly appreciated your advice and went to the other thread you mentioned. And I definitely appreciated you sharing your experience. From others that have shared their experience, I was able to find out so much and could ask questions of my doctor that I would have never known to ask.

I definitely look forward to meeting you when you are at the Y&B!

I'm glad the thread was useful. I completely understand your feelings about the Tamoxifen and publicly said so. I have no personal gain in promoting the drug to others. I need to believe that it's the best thing for me now (as dreadful as it can be at times). I just have not felt well-received here; I think that the other posters thought I might be attacking you personally, which I was not doing and never intended to do. I went through a very difficult time and was trying to be helpful not only to you but to others by talking about my experiences and offering support to others. No one has to accept it, of course, but I have offered it without any acknowledgement from anyone here.

I am not a nasty person and I am afraid that this is how I am being perceived on this thread. I've been on the DIS for more years than I'd like to admit. I've had my good and bad moments. It's unfortunate that some may have misinterpreted what I was saying.

Hope you are feeling well.

You all are awesome:) Thank you for the advice. I will call first thing tomorrow and update you on what we can do for our sons friend. I didn't even think about him not being able to enjoy the EMH. I hope they can accommodate him and if he was able to get free dinning too... that would just be fabulous. I was planning on paying for his meals out of pocket.

Being curious....how do they regulate EMH? I was just wondering....how do they know who's staying onsite vs. off-site. And how do they get those to leave who are staying off-site?

You used to have to get wrist bands. Now in order to get on an attraction, you have to show your KTTW card, at each attraction in order to get on. No card, no admission. If an off-site guest is already in the park before EMH started , I guess they can stay to eat, shop, walk around, they just can't go on any attractions. After EMH starts, i doubt they can get admittance to the park.

Does anyone know if there are toasters in The Marketplace for the public to use? We usually throw a couple of bags of bagels in our luggage and use the resort food court toaster for breakfast. They have been at all the other resorts I've been in, both Moderate & Deluxe. But Marketplace seems to be a bit different.

Thanks Sue M:) I am glad I asked that question because when we went for our visit last year, I did not carry my 7 yr-olds KTTW card but I know now to carry it.

I don't know how strict they are with checking young childrens cards, but it's a good idea to carry it.
For EMH, we use lanyards with the clear plastic pouch for our KTTW cards. So we don't have to go digging for our cards all the time. Otherwise I'd probably be shoving mine in my pocket and loose it.

@ DeeCeeSW- I'm sorry to hear that you feel like you have gotten off on the wrong foot on this thread. I certainly hope that none of us have been intentionally mean or unwelcoming.

Sharing your personal story and the information about the supportive thread on the DIS is helpful for others on this thread who are going through some extremely difficult moments, so thank you.

Please let me know the dates you are visiting in August if you would like to be added to the guest list I have posted on page 1.

Dee

Just making sure that you know that even if you have checked out of your room, you are still able to use SAB on the day you are leaving. Late checkout is not necessary (although I can see how it would be convenient)

You will still have your key card, it will just be deactivated. Check in your luggage sometime BEFORE 1, leave your carryons with Bell Services and enjoy lunch or the pool! You can use the lockers and showers in the healthclub to freshen up if you wish.

@Teena.......

Oh Teena I am back with my view woes. you know I love my view....Last year Wedding Gazebo at YC CL was divine. I know this view is is sooo limited as well. I know I can also overlook the front of the resort as well as back on garden view. Question is - if I upgraded to Lagoon VIew CL do you think I would LOVE the view? Someone told me that if I am by the lighthouse that is great otherwise some lagoon views might just be a sliver of the lagoon while sitting over someone else's porch rooftop near SAB view. Just wondered if the rooms changed classification for lagoon as well last January? This would be 5th floor view....THANKS! Melissa

And I should add that my entire YC stay will be at the resort...meaning no parks, so lots of resort time, etc. if that justifies the cost of the view.....Since I won the free trip to POFq, I am splitting my stay w 4 nights at POFQ (free is free) and 3 nights a YC CL to simply enjoy the resort...

Okay, I stewed it over for a few hours and I called to upgrade us to Club Level! I actually was going to do GV CL as it said it was available online, but when I called he said all they had was standard view, so that's fine with me, I guess. Actual, online, all the room categories showed up as being available with the FL Res discount. But either way, we are staying Club Level!

Did I mention in one of my earlier posts that my mom things we are still staying at POFQ? I decided to upgrade us and will surprise her when we drive towards the BC instead of FQ. Hoping she won't be toooo upset with me
