New to the thread - but do see there are those that are having health concerns .. stay strong and know others have you in their prayers and thoughts. My fiance's sister had breast cancer (diagnosed at 34), underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, and she is now cancer free. Of course it was a long road .. both physically and emotionally, but everything worked out. Stay positive :)

I am wondering if all Yacht club garden view rooms have a balcony ... I have never stayed in a room that didn't, or heard of someone I know staying at the YC who didn't have a balcony, but I suppose it's possible. Also, does anyone have recommendations for putting in a request for a certain view (we are garden view). Not sure if there are certain areas that people like best or that would be a good request. We haven't requested anything yet, mainly because we are just happy to be going!, but figured it doesn't hurt to just call and add one thing. If we get it, great .. if not, no biggie.

I'm not an expert on BC/YC but have done a fair amount of reading and I believe all YC rooms have full balconies.
I struggled with the BC vs YC stay, because a full balcony is important to me, but I prefer the theming and having the Marketplace nearby at BC.
So I booked BC & will hope for the best.

doccoc2002 Hope you get good results on MRI Monday. :grouphug:
I was dx in my 40's, oldest was in grade 6. I know what a difficult time it is, and having people to talk to who have been there sure helps.
I had the lumpectomy, chemo & radiation. Was very aggressive cells. It will be 13 yrs this May.

All YC rooms (except for a couple suites) have full balconies. The exception, of course, would be if you have a ground floor, and then you have a patio.

We plan on leaving after my husband gets out of work on a Saturday (he works shortened days on Sats) so we'll only be traveling approximately 4½ hours. We plan on staying near the Christiana Mall area in DE. Then our next stop will be in Florence SC. I think our drives should be quite tolerable. :thumbsup2

It should be. The drive from Florence to Florida will be about 7 hours--it's around one hour from our house. I'd suggest staying somewhere on the south side of Florence.

I took everyone's advice and called a little while ago with some room requests. I requested 1) a full balcony and 2) a room close to the main lobby, in that order. Honestly I don't really care where our room is, but I figured since I was on the phone with them, I'd add it. So excited...I would love a couple spins around the lazy river right now - it's a hot one today!

Last July, my family was out at the bus stop at 7:30 for an 8 am EMH opening at MK twice that week. We made it for the rope drop opening ceremony both times. I suspect there are buses running even earlier, but I don't know that for sure. The ride to MK is around 15 minutes, so I am guessing being out at the stop by 7 would do.

You are better off taking the bus than driving or taking a taxi to MK because the bus drops you off right at the entrance and with a vehicle you must go to the TTC, then take the boat or ferry.

We always do a 8:05 ADR at Crystal Palace and never had trouble getting a bus. We are also the crazy "rope droppers" and always have made it in time for rope drop.

Marlton Mom - I was down in your neck of the woods yesterday. I ran a fundraiser for our school at Sahara Sam's and everytime I saw a sign on 295 that said Marlton I thought of you!

Wsprincess - I think you'll be fine with a rollaway or daybed and a pack and play. First of all the the daybad and packand play can be folded up during the day and out of your way. When we did a grand gathering in 2008 my Mom stayed in the room with my 3 oldest sons. Obviously they needed a rollaway! It fit nicely and they just folded it up during the day. There still would have been room for a pack and play. I hope you enjoy BC CL as much as we do. The other option would be to book a deluxe cl room which ha the same cl privileges but it a larger room, just not on the 5th floor. We had one once and it is a lot of extra room. HTH.

MickeyT - thanks for keeping the July list. Looks like we'll definitely have enought for another "Disney YC/BC Mini Meet" like last year!

When we were at the YC in November, we had an 8ish reservation at CP. We were on the first MK bus and the only riders!!!! We were downstairs around
7. We had to wait a bit in line at MK but it seemed better to do that than be too late.

Thanks ya'll! It sounds that if you're at the bus stop by 7:15 am, you'll make it to MK on time. Is that accurate?

dear Teena ,

I hope all goes well with yr surgery !! just think positive thoughts and i am sure all the good wishes u r getting will help !!

So u think it is worth getting a hoppper ?

we r already stretching the budget with the bc rates ! i just cannot make up my mind on DP and hopper !!!

Hi Pixar mom ,

Would love to know how much a cab from bc to ak and poly would cost ?

Thanks

I used a cab from Poly to Beach Club last July and it was under $20 with tip. Not sure on Animal Kingdom, but again, I think the max would be $20 including the tip. It is well worth it to get to an early breakfast. I used the cab to go from watching the fireworks from the Poly beach back to the Beach Club at night.

sorry all , i phrased my question incorrectly !! :( What i meant was does anyone have any advice on how i should split my days in disney . shall i do two days in mk and epcot and one in ak with half a day at dhs . i am there for six nights but get five and a half days .

trvlg with husband and seven year twins, boy and girl for the first time !

Also is the 200 $ extra on park hopper worth it ? the kids can only do that much every day !!

It should be. The drive from Florence to Florida will be about 7 hours--it's around one hour from our house. I'd suggest staying somewhere on the south side of Florence.
We're staying at the SpringHill Stes right off Rt 95/Rt 20. :)

Last time we went with 3 kids (ages 2, 6 & 7) and we did NOT get the park hopper. It was fine. Definitely had to plan out days. However, we stayed at POFQ.

Consider this -- you will be walking distance to Epcot, and this is a great park to hop to in the evenings. Evening coming from monorail from the MK to Epcot and walking through is wonderful. It depends on how much time you want to spend in the parks. Also, Epcot has many good dining establishments, so you could hop there just for dinner.

We will be hopping this times with kids ages 7, 10 & 11.

Hi All, Just wondering if the BC 4th floor deluxe club level rooms have full balcony's??? If I am remembering correctly, I believe the 4th floor has a lot of the dormer type. Thanks so much :goodvibes
