Large slide not open today ... workers still there with all their stuff around. Heard it was getting close though. I didn't get to check out the kiddie slide ... very busy today.

And some bad news ... some pins that were taken in by "friends" and left at the front desk have disappeared. So, unfortunately, although your "friend" might drop off the pin at the front desk before you arrive, there's a chance it will disappear. Have no idea what is going on. Some are there and some are disappearing.

We left BC on Feb 5 and the pool slide was open (DD's were VERY happy to use it before going home.) We noticed the scaffolding coming down on Feb 1 and the "walls" on Feb 4.

Hi mtmbyck- Even if Jennifer doesn't have a photo, you should be able to identify Teena if she is working while you are on vacation. I believe right now she is the only female working as a greeter at BC. She is also in the picture of the DIS meet- she is in an orange shirt, and holding up a picture of "Flat Dee" (me)

We'll be down at the YC for our annual IF&WF sojourn staying from 10-24 to 10-29. Look for the wide-brimed straw hat with the LGMH (oops, wrong website) on the front.

I booked last week on the UK site and had this problem as well. The CM I talked to said he'd put in a request for a garden/courtyard view anyway. I also asked about CL - and those rooms were not available to people booking on the UK site either. strange. So I'm crossing my fingers that its just the old system and the "standard " rooms offered in reservation system are a mix of the 2 new categories standarrd and garden!!


I had first booked a garden view on the US site for the end of Aug with free dining but had to change my dates. thought I might have to cancel altogether because the rate at the beginning of Aug on the US reservation site was out of our budget - but since I live in France I was eligible to book off the UK site which offers free dining starting Aug 1 for roughly the same price- so all is well - I just hope we don't get a crappy view as I was willing to pay the extra for the garden view!!

Garden or roof top view - I can't wait to stay ant the BC!!

A request for a garden view isn't possible if you book a standard view. That's requesting an upgrade.

You need to push and push and push. If you don't give up ... bug them to death ... they will be able to get that garden view for you. If it shows availability on the US site, then its available to you. Your travel agent person (whether she works for a travel agent or Disney) needs to do something other than sit and look at a computer. She needs to make phone calls and get the right categories available for you ... if she insists to whoever her manager is and they call Disney and it keeps going up the ladder, if those rooms are available, she can book them!!!!

OK, when I checked on Sunday, it was down for 20 minutes ... found this out today. Even today there was stuff still up. However, I got a clarification. The slide opened on Friday and is still open. Apparently it was down for 20 minutes on Sunday when they were removing some of the "stuff" and of course that's when I went over and checked it.

Rumor has it they are designing a new costume for me ... more like in the early 20's ... hopefully not something too crazy. They mentioned a hat and umbrella too.

How late is SAB typically open in early September? Trying to figure out if we'll arrive in time to check it out our first day.

I'd draw the line if they tried to turn you into Mary Poppins.... then again that flying umbrella thing would make your commute MUCH easier..
