First of all--add my family to the vacation list. We just booked a room at Beach Club for June 5-14. I left the requests alone, thinking that whatever I have, it's gonna be a great deal nicer than POR, where we were originally booked, and I'm not opening myself up for disappointment!

Now my question: the footpath is from Beach Club to Epcot's World Showcase. How does that work for ropedrop? Are guests moved to Future World or do they wait until the ropedrop ceremonies are over? Basically, what I want to know is how rope drop operates if I walk to Epcot in the morning.

That's a great question, and definitely FAQ-worthy! I'll add the response to the front, but I need some help. WHERE: Is the "rope" at the entrance of UK or is it at the entrance of Future World?

Guests who enter EPCOT through the International Gateway will be held at (WHERE???) until the park opening time.

Usually, you will arrive at Soarin' either at the same time or just a minute or so after those who enter through the main gates.

There have been reports of guests from the IG occasionally being allowed to enter EPCOT a minute or two before the official opening.

If you have a pre-opening breakfast scheduled at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, you will provide your name and/or reservation to a CM: WHERE??? and then proceed through Mexico to Norway.

How's that for a not-really-an-answer answer?

Here is the June 2011 List...
Cinderumbrella June 7-14 YC
Pixiedust247 June 1- 8 BC
MarltonMom June 10-20 BC
Timon_n_Pumba May 31- June 7 BC
TeacherDL June5- ??? BC
Ocalla June??? BC
Hawg Pharm June 15-25 BC
Dannysmom June 17th to 25th BC

We had a pre-opening breakfast scheduled at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. We provide the CM at the IG with our reservation info then proceeded to Norway. We could only go via the England route since the France route was blocked. I did not notice any other rope drops but then again I wasn't looking for one.

Well, I was going to stay at BC CL in May, but I just changed it to YC CL in May! So we will be going back to the YC and I can't wait! I love relaxing in the pool and drinking a sunken treasure. However, I might have to stop at the steak house there because the drinks look bigger. Anyway, add me to the list for May 15 -22 YC CL!

Thanks everyone for all the help you have given me over the last couple of years!

From another thread:

Teena should be able to confirm this when she returns home from work today.

Large slide not open today ... workers still there with all their stuff around. Heard it was getting close though. I didn't get to check out the kiddie slide ... very busy today.

And some bad news ... some pins that were taken in by "friends" and left at the front desk have disappeared. So, unfortunately, although your "friend" might drop off the pin at the front desk before you arrive, there's a chance it will disappear. Have no idea what is going on. Some are there and some are disappearing.

Added you to the list! Some of our trips our overlapping...maybe we will run into one another! Have fun planning!

Thanks! It would be nice to have an Early/Mid June Dismeet!

Thanks, Dee, for all of your hard work on this thread and to Teena for your expert advice! :thumbsup2 I have learned so much from all of you and cannot wait for our first stay at the BC!:yay:

A question about the lockers/showers in the Ship Shape Health Club. I was excited to learn these would be available on check-in and check-out day. Plan to check-out, hit SAB for a few hours, shower and then head home. Is there a fee for the lockers? Do I need to bring my own lock, soap, towels? Also, will my children be allowed into this area even though they are not old enough to officially be in the workout area.

TIA:goodvibes

Anybody know which sections of the Beach club villas is the best? Taking in consideration the resorts pool, view and noise level?

I think this was taken in December 2010.

MsCoz2000 posted a bunch of photos in the previous thread (p.187 and 188). This was one of them.

Don't know if there is a discount for resort guests. Or day of bookings if they are slow.

Thank you so much! This was very helpful :)

Just checking in one more time for missions! I won't have internet access while we're at Disney, so I'll report back when we return! :wizard:

Hello everyone, I've been reading this thread and getting loads of great information, so thanks so much for that.

From reading however, I've realised that there is the new categorisation of rooms to include garden views. I booked a standard view last year when garden view was not an option.

So, seeing on here that there is now a new category and my standard view is almost definitely now going to be car park/roof view, I have tried calling my agent to get a quote to upgrade to a garden view.

Now, I am in the UK so I don't know if anyone can help or advise me, but my travel agent told me they only have standard and water view rooms on their system and even called Disney (Disney UK I presume they have to deal with) who told them that although garden views do exist they're not on their system either!!

So, basically I was told I can't book one of these room and have to be content with a standard view or pay an additional £400 ($650) for a water view which we really can't afford or justify having stretched overselves for the Beach Club as a huge family treat.

This seems so unfair!!! That only some guests are getting the option to
upgrade to a garden view whilst others have to stick with standard or pay the huge difference for a water view.

I know this isn't a problem which will affect most of you, but you all seem SO knowledgable and helpful, I thought I'd run it by you and see if there were any tips for ways around this.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Another poster from the UK, Claireybear, just went through the very process you are concerned with. She was very persistent and I believe she was able to finally book a garden view.

I have also included a link to the previous thread where her discussion started, the very bottom of page 222. Read her post, then continue on in the thread or then click on her screen name and select "More Posts by Claireybear" to follow along.

Hope that helps!

We've done this lots of times when we had a late flight home.

You do not have to bring anything of your own (they have towels and soap), no charge for the lockers and kids are allowed into the shower/change area.

PIXARMOM - HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!!

Each person you ask will have a different answer. What's best for you will not be best for me. It's all what YOU like and want. Some people love a pool view, some don't want to be anywhere near the pool. Some want at the very end of the long hallway (to avoid noise), some want close to the elevators.
