Don't look, don't even peek....there's yet another "POR Royal Room upgrade" thread recently started on the Resorts Board...I think we're up to about 5 or 6 controversial threads...

I think this will go down as the 2012 POR Royal Room Upgrade debacle. It will either become as taboo as pool hopping & reusing refillable mugs, or it will bet banned like tipping & religion!!!

I will be at BCV/Poly during the dates of these upgrades, and will be on the lookout for any mishaps or foul play!!!

I haven't looked yet but do they need people to go over there and give them a piece of my mind about their boorish behavior? (Raises hand)

I'm still laughing about the Snarky (Moley) Snow White thread. I got called out for throwing the dwarfs under the bus in THAT thread!

HAHAHAHAHA Marlton Mom, I like the way you think. You protect your own LOL!!!

I haven't seen any poor behavior about it in this thread- it was mostly over in the Poly thread, and I was knee deep in it a few days ago. This one dude kept bragging & bragging how he got upgraded from POR to Poly GV...then after a few calls to Poly LG...then he threw another little hissy & got TPV...a few more calls made & he claims to have poly TPV CL! Then went back to the POR site to encourage others to lie to get the same thing (tell them you're my family & my kids' babysitters for the trip - they'll HAVE to move to you Poly TPV CL.....call & pretend you're your travel agent & demand this & that) and he had his POR cronies urging him on & congratulating all the way. And he had the nerve to continuously post & brag about it on the Poly thread....well many (myself included) who are paying good money to stay at the Poly that same week, had enough & all heck broke loose. Then he got his POR cronies to come in the Poly thread & defend him. Mud was slung, mods were involved & infractions were incurred! Fun time all around!!

Once the dust settled, he apologized & claimed to be truly sorry, but was truly stupid not realizing we were all reading the POR thread & seeing that while he was all Mr. I'm-Your-Best-Friend-At-Poly-now on the Poly thread, he was calling us jealous haters over there, which just stirred up the POR people to be snarky every now & then on the Poly thread.

He is STILL posting every hour on the Poly thread & annoying the living daylights out of everyone. Most of us over there have PM-ed each other, agreeing to never respond to his posts or comments, to ignore him, and hope that after his magical trip, he goes POOF!

We're not talking about football in our house right now . . . (although I will root for Dee's Patriots now!)

But today is a happy day! It's the 20-year anniversary of my first BC stay! I was in college and my parents hosted me for my little brother's birthday trip. At the time, BC was only 14 months old and at first, I couldn't believe we weren't staying at the Poly. But we all loved the beautiful new resort with the wonderful pool! (And obviously we've loved it ever since!)

Pixarmom, I take it you're from Wisconsin. Whereabouts, if you don't mind sharing? I'm about an hour north of Milwaukee.

I was following that thread too - and did you see the one where a dad LAID DOWN ON THE FLOOR in California Grill (I think - it was signature) to get his kid to go to sleep on the floor so they could eat?? Entitled people raising snowflakes is what this world is coming to I swear!

LOL that was my problem last week - while all of this was going on over on the Poly thread, I was off work for 3 days in a row...and sat on The DIS for most of it!

It's the Aloha Poly Summer 2011 thread, it starts on page 184 where the POR transplants start popping in that they've been transferred...and by page 204 a mod stepped in, and it just went on & on....

The other thread is the POR FAQ 2012 Royal Refurbishment thread where much of the behind the scenes stirring up went on...and funny, when I go back through it, many of the posts have been edited or deleted - especially the ones where Poly Dude (that's what we call him) was actually posting phone numbers & contacts of whom he spoke with to get his demands met.

All of the POR talk has me thinking of the pixie dust we were given on our trip last year. We were at MK and someone was on the Pirate's of the Carribean ride ahead of us. They heard us talking (though I don't remember what it was about) and started talking to us. Afterwards they asked how long we were staying and offered us some kind of special Fastpasses that they had. I think that they said they worked for a blog of some sort. They were only for the MK and I think it was enough for 4 or 5 rides for us. We were so shocked and excited to be offered something like that. Made our day and our trip. Best thing is that we did not use them all and as we left the park on our last day we gave our remaining fastpasses to another family getting ready to enter the park. They had just as big of an excited look on their faces as we had had. Felt good to be able to pass on the pixie dust no matter how small in size.

We do that when we are leaving a park if we have extra FP, but it can be surprisingly hard to give them away. We try to find a family of the right size, then we find that people think you are scamming them, or they don't speak English or they are leaving soon too.

When we were at AK, we had 4 FP for EE. The boys didn't want to ride, so I went solo. I rode with 3 generations of a family from England, grandmother, mum and daughter. It was their first time on the ride and they laughed and smiled the whole time. When the ride stopped, I asked if they wanted to go again. They were thrilled and in disbelief.

My favorite dusting we received in the park was during Year of a Million Dreams. Someone gave my son Nate a lanyard with Dream FP at HS. ToT and RNR were missing (which is ok because he wouldn't ride those at that time), but TSM was still there. He only had one lanyard, but the CVs let my DH go on with him.

You people are seriously bad for my productivity!!!

First, I had to go read about the complainers when upgraded from a mod to a deluxe (all the many, many pages and threads because it was vital that I have the whole story ).

Then, I had to go read about Snow White and how mean she is.

And if you want another good story, maybe somebody here remembers where the "phone book and moving to the BW" stuff started. That's really good ... especially the many phone book sightings for months afterwards.

I've got to stay away from reading other threads.

If I read one more thread of someone who got upgraded from the POR Princess room to TPV at the Poly, Lagoon view at GF and waterview at BC and then write how disappointed they are with Disney and shouldn't Disney give them even more I'll SCREAM!!!!!!

If I booked POR and someone gave me a free upgrade to BC, Poly or GF I'd be dancing on air.

We've gotten three free upgrades in our trips to Disney - once from a gv room at the Poly to a TPV room, one upgrade from a waterview room at BC to CL and once from a gv room at YC to CL. I felt like I'd won the lottery!!!!

I'm almost afraid to post this - are we the only Giants Fans here?

Ours all started when ds went to college at Seton Hall. He became a true, die hard fan so now we're Giants fans (strangely also Jets fans because youngest ds is a die hard Jets fan).

Anyway - tomorrow I get to make our first ADR!!!! It's our tradition to start our first night at RFC at DTD. The first two nights we'll be at the Dolphin so I won't be able to make the rest of them until Thursday.

Sshhhh GO GIANTS!!


Anyway I went to work today (since my foot is broken I only go in one day a week) and I was sooooo busy I didn't get to call DVC until late and now there are NOOOOO rooms at BCV's!!!! So that means AKV for all 4 days oh well!! I did however break down and purchase DD plane tickets today so she will be joining in the Disney/Yankee fun for 2 of the 4 days!!

Thanks to all those who encouraged me to do the split. I'll keep trying maybe something will open up or my wait list will come through for AKL CL!!

I think Poly Dude is being referred to (and being bashed) on the newest Royal Rooms aren't Ready thread for March thread. So it's not just me that this guy totally irked (and the buddies he got to back him - they're trying to defend him in there, and I think they're all getting thrown to the wolves!)

Hey legitimate BC/YC question - I'm transferring over to BC CL from The Dolphin - if I walk over & check in early - say around 8-9am - once I'm checked in, can we grab a snack in the CL lounge, then head to the parks until the room is ready? Or do we need to wait until the room is officially ours?

Come on over at 7 AM if you want. You will be a guest of the lounge from the time you check in (whether your room is ready or not) until midnight on the day you check out.
