Tara, I just got back on Saturday from our split Poly/BC/YC stay. We got upgraded to room 2557 ( deluxe BC CL room ). It was beautiful!! The room was HUGE! It had 2 queens and a daybed. You walked into the room and their was a small foyer. Turn to the right and there is the bedroom. The extra space was great. The only thing that dh and I said they should add is a sitting area. The room is very large but there is not any chair to sit in like they have in the regular Poly rooms. Also, the daybed is different. It doesn't actually "pull out" like it does at the Poly either so the actual bed is smaller (trust me, I slept in it lol). The view was good. We were looking out over the quiet pool.

Dh said he preferred the Poly room even though the BC one was bigger. Access to the lounge was easier at the Poly (it was a HIKE from our room to the lounge at the BC) and it was nice for the person sleeping in the daybed to have a chair to sit in to watch some "chill time" tv at the end of the day.

I don't think we would pay extra for a deluxe room. Let me know if you have any questions. I wish I had some pics for you but I didn't take any when we checked in and the next day, mousekeeping didn't show up until 5pm :scared1: to clean up our room and just did turndown service for us. The room was a slept in mess all day!

Thanks for the great info! Lucky you on the upgrade! For the family trip my 1st priority was space - it had to be something bigger than a standard room. I really wanted a 1BR villa, but when I saw the Deluxe CL room was the same price, I decided to sacrifice some space for the chance to do CL. I know my boys (11 & 14) will go nuts over CL, we're grazers & love to snack all day! Glad to hear you thought the room was huge. That's important to me.

Honestly my very 1st choice if paying for CL was Poly, but my boys both went "eh" at the theming & decor, and they actually aren't fans of the monorail. And while Poly rooms are generally larger than an other standard rooms, they still look tight for our family of 4 with growing boys that won't share a bed. I still would have sacrificed the space had the Poly CL rate been less than the BC CL rate, but it wasn't, it was $425 more. My dream resort is Poly, (#2 is BC) - so thankfully I'm lucky enough to be taking a girls only trip 2 weeks prior to the family trip, and it's a split BCV/Poly. So I'll get my Poly fix! Sounds like you had the best of all worlds - Poly/BC CL and YC!

Has any of the resort specific merchandise appeared at the gift shops yet? :flower3: I confess I have a coffee mug addiction...:rolleyes1

Wow. I head off to Disneyland for a day and the thread moves through several pages!

I just wanted to send good thoughts to Feckless and those that will be in the world in early May. I truly hope that BTMR will be open for you guys at that time! The closure of Test Track stinks but I guess it just means my family will try Soarin' at Epcot at least once.

I have heard that parts of the fantasyland expansion are going to be open sometime in May. It's possible that even the beast castle and the Little Mermaid ride (whatever they are calling it) will be open. We can all hope.

Also, I wanted to take this moment to congratulate MikeyT. I hope someday to join him and others in competing in a race such as this. Way to go, everyone!

Thanks so much for the good wishes!! I would be stoked if BTMRR was open during our stay, and if some if the Fantasyland expansion is open, it would be incredible!

I just did a tiny bit of research, and it appears that a taxi from BC to US would be about $35 each way, so $70 total. Mears is $18 per adult, less for kid's under 12, so I'm estimating about $55 - $60, and with a shuttle there will be stops. Return on the Tiffany Transport appears to be $90. The town car might be the way to go!

Time to update my pre trip report!

Hey all!

My wife, son (7)?and I will be staying @ the YC CL 3/23 - 3/30 and am wondering if the noodles need a home?

Also, thank you very much for your time and effort in bringing this thread to life!

My family & I will be there 3/23-27 (BC CL) so if you need a babysitter at all for the Noodle Family, please feel free to drop them off!

Hi TaraPA! I'm sure we can fiqure out a BC/YC stay for the noodle family to ensure everyone gets a visit.

Hi All,

Just a first post to say Hi and they we have booked to stay at the Beach Club from 20th - 28th of September 2012. This will be our first trip to WDW and we are visiting for Queensland Australia.

I have started a pre trip report (link in my footer below). We were originally going to start at Port Orleans but after talking with a friend about our trip and reading (especially this thread and many of the past threads) there was no choice but to stay at the Beach Club!

Thanks everyone for contributing to a wonderful online community!

Here's my story (too lazy to rewrite so I am just copying it from my TR):
This is the SV CL room that I keep yakking about. (Room 5670)

.

I would LOVE to get that view (and we're in SV CL)!! For the upcoming trip however, the priority is connect rooms with the grandparents. Our last visit at the BC, we had std view and got the rooms above the lobby where we could see the magical express buses arrive -- for my 5 yo that is apparently the BEST VIEW ever. So no need to pay more for the view for him.
If that view has the buses, fireworks, and connecting -- now we're talking!!

See, now if I was staying at the Poly, that is a place where I would consider paying extra for the theme park view- watching the castle change color, or seeing the water parade or fireworks from my balcony might make the upgrade worth it to me.

Totally agree!! Our home is the Poly, specifically TPVs in Hawaii. We sleep "upside down" so we can fall asleep watching the castle. :cloud9:

We've never paid for LV at BC/YC, but we've gotten it each time but once. It's wonderful, but I probably wouldn't pay for it. However, now that we've gotten it, I'm almost nervous enough about a lame SV that I'd upgrade. The one time we weren't upgraded, we had a partial view of SE, though, and that was nice, so I'll probably just let the chips fall.

Per links from a few pages ago (okay, more than a few because this thread moves so fast), yes, the resort specific merchandise is at the YC, soon to be at the BC. Did any of you runners see any there last weekend?

SOMEONE PINCH ME!!!

AP discount was released today for spring. I am currently going with some friends 3/4-8 & doing a split stay - 2 nts at BCV in a studio, 2 nts at Poly. I just booked ANOTHER trip - Beach Club Deluxe Room CL!!!! Natebenma Natebenma - where are you?? Please please please add me to the list for 3/23-27!!!

:cool1:

OK does anyone have, or can anyone direct me to pictures of the Deluxe CL rooms? I've heard that they are a little larger than a regular room, having 2 queens plus a small sitting area with a daybed, coffee table & another TV. I really wanted a 1BR villa for this family trip, but the cost was the same for that or a Deluxe CL room, so I took that! I figure we can stay in a villa anytime, I might not get another chance at a discount on a Deluxe CL room. I went back online to check something & that category is no longer available with the AP discount, so I'm assuming there aren't many rooms of that type.

We stayed in a deluxe cl room in 2009. It was room 1557. It was fabulous!
We were there for two weeks, with 5 people so we really appreciated the extra space. We had a "sitting area" with a pull out couch. It wasn't a separate sitting area but it was much further away from the beds than a regular room. There was tons of space in that room - in fact it was DH's favorite room ever. That was back when it was stay 7/pay for 4. If that ever comes back I'd jump on that deluxe cl room.

Yes, the thread has been moving so fast lately that I'm kicking myself for not entering it in the marathon this past weekend!

We just booked a Bounceback offer and will be staying BC CL Deluxe Room from 8/25-9/1. Super psyched!!!
I know there aren't many of these rooms but is it worth making a request? What would you request???

Do you remember the room number? We were just to the left of the port cochiere (sp???) thingy, but we couldn't see the buses arrive because of the big tree that blocked our forward view.

Amanda-

YAY!!!

(I'm assuming the thumbs down in your post is a mistake) ETA: much better now!

And I hate to do this to you, but one page back, my post #1259, has a highly detailed description of the 6 BC CL Deluxe rooms.

Amanda I just booked one of these yesterday for March - I've gotten lots of good info on this thread! I'm still searching the DIS for pics of the rooms, there are some of 3691 both before & after the rehab.

I'm also at BCV 2 weeks prior to the BC CL stay, so I'm going to be bold & email the concierge & see if there's any way I can tour any of the 6 Deluxe CL rooms if they're not occupied. Space is a big priority for us with 2 growing boys that won't share a bed, so if there's any way I can take a peek at any of the rooms, so that I can possibly make a room request, it would be greatly appreciated. I will take lots of pics & post them here, hopefully that will help you out too!

This is the ground floor Deluxe CL room, correct? Can you walk right out off the patio to the quiet pool? I'm thinking I would love this one so the boys can just go to the pool without us, if I can see it from the room. You don't have any pics of the room, do you by chance? How far was this from the stairs/elevator to the 5th floor CL lounge?

Thanks for the info!

Wait, they have grey goose slushies at epcot? Ive been there 3 times in the past year how did I miss this! Where is it!?!?!

The GGS stand is on the walkway outside of France:

I didn't intentionally ignore this question. I was waiting for MM to chime in but she was uncharacteristically quiet yesterday. So I will add her very important advice below.

I think we should make it one of the unofficial slogans of this thread that when hoofing it over to get a slushy, you need to remember to take a refillable mug or other type of 'stealth' container so you can travel with it out of the parks and back to the Beach/Yacht club. Florida has a "No open container of alcohol" law so if Cast Members see you coming toward the exit of EPCOT with what's obviously a slushy or other alcoholic drink they will tell you to finish it or dump it.

Marlton Mom braved an Ice Cream headache  because she wasn't about to dump her hard earned slushie!

~So take a container or chug the remainder!~

I need to find a way to work that important tip onto Page 1.

The other great thing about using the refillable mug for the slushie is that it prevents precious spillage. Those flimsy containers they serve them in are way too shaky. Or maybe it was me who was too shaky. I found that as I drained more and more slushie, I was surprisingly more and more likely to tip over the cup as I emptied it while booking across the World Showcase trying to balance the cup and also snap pictures along the way. A refillable mug would have made life much simpler!

And look, another opportunity to sneak in a part of my 2010 TR in the thread!

Excerpt from "The 3rd annual I'm "NEVER" going to Disney in the summer again!"

So I slowed down, caught my breath, and strolled at a better pace to a better place: The Grand Marnier/Grey Goose Slushie stand!

They gave it to me in a Martini glass. I should have asked for a regular cup with a lid. It was hard to keep the slushie from sloshing as I walked, sipping and snapping photos. It was HOT, the drink was strong, and I hoped that I would have a little left in the glass to share with Mark when I found him.

Late breaking tip from pixarmom: Use your refillable mug for the slushie. Pop on the lid. Insert straw. Enjoy!

There was enough for him to have a taste.

Sorry - no pictures. Yes you could walk right out the patio to the quiet pool and the laundry room. The bushes kind of hide a direct view of the pool though. That room has a lot of windows too - one of the windows has a nice view of Crescent Lake. We loved that room! The only drawback with any of the deluxe cl rooms is that they are not on the same floor as the cl lounge.
Here is what we would do - get completely ready in the morning, head up to the cl lounge and have breakfast. We would leave from there for the parks. Lots of times when we took our afternoon break we would go up to the lounge first (before changing into swimsuits) and get sodas and snacks.
When we were getting ready to go out at night I would usually send DH and one of the kids up to the lounge and they would get a tray with appetizers, glasses of wine and drinks.

HTH.
