There are only NINE (9) garden club level rooms. Don't know where you got the 41 number from and I believe only one has a daybed. If you go to the old map of the rooms that is floating around, you can pretty much figure out which are the garden views. The rooms that face out front are standard views because of the roof. Dee actually likes those rooms because you can see the fireworks over the trees from Magic Kingdom. You see the roof if you look straight down. And the ones facing straight back are the lagoon views. The rooms down the two wings that do not face front or back and instead face the courtyards are the garden views.

Not sure about the balconies. There are eight rooms on 5th floor that do not have full balconies but I'm not sure if any of those eight are garden views.

Well that explains why I couldn't get a GV CL room. I just upgraded us to CL and could only get a SV or water view room. I didn't really want to pay the extra for the water view so we took the SV. Being a family of 5 is not always convenient at Disney.
Are all of the SVCL rooms on the 5th floor? And do they all have queen beds?

Feckless: Your Emma is absolutely adorable. I'm really sorry for your loss.

thank you for all the photos. The quiet pool looks so much nicer than I expected. Don't want to rush the summer, but can't wait for our trip.

The quiet pool is VERY nice. I actually avoided SAB, where all the families were and spent my time at the quiet pool. Which was truely a quiet pool because everyone else was at the fun pool. Lots of room to float.

That umbrella on the the left is where I sat with my book and my beer (in a handi dandy paper coffee cup with lid) and did laundry in the very same laundry room pixarmom posted.

We used that back elevator constantly because if you turn left out of it and follow the hallways you get to the secret entrance.

Teena - I'm excited that you trade pins, my boys are looking forward to it.

My parents are snow birds & will be in FL during my trips. If they want to drive over for the day, just to walk around the BC/YC/BW area & get something to eat at BC (no parks), are they allowed to park at BC since I'm a guest? Or is there somewhere else they need to park? Do I need to register them as day guests or anything like that, or are day guests not even allowed?

Teena
The ever so helpful CM gave the 41 number based on her chart. Sigh. See how you don't know where to turn except here for factual info? Which is why I drive you to the bottle most days. I appreciate your input and will consider myself lucky then to have gotten one since rooms seem in short supply. I know the map you mean but looked on another one for a more generic view. I loved how at YC CL GV I could see the beautiful gazebo and a side look at a lagoon. Am trying to mimic that view at BC in terms of lagoon

Would "Lagoon View" be ok to ask for in room request - obviously I am staying GV but maybe a side look at it somehow?

For anyone reading this, YC has 5 GV CL rooms. 4 face the Weddig Gazebo and one sort of overlooks a walkway of YC. Wedding View way better in my opinion. So my theory is BC has to have some more COVETED Garden Views on club. THAT is the room I want whatever that may be!!! :)

If you look at the map, I think all the garden view rooms, if you looked to the side should be able to see some of the lagoon except maybe the few by 5634. If you put lagoon view request on a garden view reservation, they aren't going to know what you are talking about because technically there is no lagoon view in a garden view. Honestly, since there are so few garden views, I don't think you will have much luck with requests since the garden views are normally always booked (because there are hardly any) and therefore the chances of more than one of them being vacated on the day you check in is slim. So it's not like you have 40 rooms to choose from.

Your parents are definitely welcome to come and spend time with you and are free to park at the BC. They would just tell the guard they are here to visit their daughter (give name) in room (give room #). The only place they can't go is to Stormalong Bay but if you want to hang out at a pool with them, you can certainly all use the quiet pool. Also, if you are staying club level, you are not allowed to bring guests to the lounge.

I finally learned how to multi-quote! Took me long enough!

Didn't forget your question pixarmom! Just took twenty pages to get to the answer.....Yes. Plenty of kids. It's just a very laid back, quiet atmosphere.

Thanks, Mike! Congratulations on your marathon, and thanks so much for the most recent photos!

Thanks Pixarmom! Where did you look to pick stuff for the IPO shopping list?

Hi Feckless! We were staying at the Dolphin and then AKL in May, so during our Dolphin stay, I checked out the pirate stuff at BWI for ideas. Then, I consulted with recent BC guests, Robyn and Mickey T. to see if they spotted anything else. I also looked at disneystore.com for a few ideas. And finally, IPO was extremely helpful - various CMs made suggestions and estimated prices for me. In the end, I didn't know exactly what each item would look like, but I was absolutely thrilled with the result. Robyn has lots of experience with this, creating "welcome gifts" for her kids with a beach theme, so she might be able to offer some advice, too.

Pixarmom, did you use the balcony in Feb? Trying to decide if it is worth it to request a full balcony for our trip next month with it being colder in Feb.

Rusty, it was so cold last February that we did not use the balcony much as usual. I did step out a few mornings and really enjoyed it, but we didn't sit out there in the evenings because it was too cold. But we've been at WDW (and BC) in February many times in the past and have been fortunate to have nice weather. The weather is just so unpredictable, so it could be beautiful or freezing. For us, I always think the "full balcony" request is worthwhile because the weather is bound to be warmer than it is at home! But that's easy for me to say because we don't make any other requests, so it's not as if that balcony request is bumping something else.

Excited about our first visit to BC in March! This is a great thread!

:welcome: Please let us know if you have any questions!

I'm laughing at the picture of the laundry room because I've spent way too much time there! No matter [/B]how many clothes you pack (and I AM an overpacker) two weeks in the summer heat means lots of laundry!

I was thinking yesterday that the YC/BC/BCV laundry rooms are probably the most photographed on property!!!

Is it crazier to be taking photos of a laundry room or BC Marketplace? We were frequent laundry room guests before our youngest was completely potty trained (yes, you can fit an entire Maclaren stroller seat in the washing machine!) and during the downpours.

pixarmom; MickeyT and cinderumbrella- I sent all of you PMs/emails about the Marketplace thread.

Dee

Got the e-mail! Thanks for checking with us, Dee!

My friend who has NEVER been to WDW is going with us over Super Bowl weekend and I am so happy her first disney resort experience will be Beach Club. :goodvibes With AP rates we had it narrowed down to BC, Poly or Contemporary, and the tie-breaker was my 3-year old nephew who announced he "Peefews (prefers) Beach Club." Dunno how you say no to that.

All the SVCL rooms are on the fifth floor. They have different bed setups in the rooms. A few have king beds, a few have one queen and a daybed, some have two queens and some have two queens and a daybed. You may want to consider upgrading to a deluxe room. They all have two queens and a daybed but are not on the fifth floor. The rooms are HUGE. Your keys give you access to the fifth floor of course where the lounge is. Robyn has stayed in these rooms and can give you her personal take on her experience there. I would definitely consider it. The price is less than a water view club level but more than a standard view club level but to me it's worth it if you have five people!!

It's been a while since I've posted here (and seriously i can't WAIT to get back to BC talking lol) but I have a quick question. Does anyone know is Stormalong bay is closed for refurb right now (or will be in the future?) Anyone there now that can confirm or hopefully deny this?

TIA!!

SAB is never totally closed for rehab. They do it in sections, usually one-third at a time. And yep, they are working on some of it now. A huge sand bottom water park has to have rehab every year. We always start in January. I believe Mike just posted a picture of them working on one section.

Thanks for the info! They aren't planning to use SAB or the quiet pool. We'll be CL for 1 of the trips, and I assumed that would be prohibited as well, thank you for confirming!

You beat me - I still don't know how to multi-quote!

I'm laughing at the laundry room pictures because I feel like they were my second BC room!!!

As far as the gifts in the rooms here is what I usually ordered:

I had everything made up in a sand bucket "gift basket"

disney dollars
arcard cards
salt water taffy
Mickey rice krispy treats
Disney lollipops
chocolate covered pretzels
small stuffed animals
and I had one of those light up Mickey balloons attached to the bucket

HTH!

OK I'm ashamed to admit - I've been on the boards for almost 12 years....and have no idea how to multi-quote!!

Scottmel, The Gazebo view is really great and yes, you can look "sideways" and see the lagoon.

Does anyone know is Stormalong bay is closed for refurb right now (or will be in the future?)

DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY that they are taking the time to keep SAB in top shape for your visit. Sometimes I think we stress too much about construction. It has to be done, we don't like it, but we can always find something else to focus on.

By the way Mike, I really like the picture of BC at night. Thanks for posting and if you want to put any others out there I'm sure no one would mind.

TaraPA, look at the lower right hand cornser of the post, see the icon with the double quote mark, click on it, then go to another post, click on the double quote on that one, continue in that manner until you have all the ones you want to quote, then just hit the Quote button. Have fun!

We usually always stay in July but in 2010 when my dd broke her leg we had to switch our trip to July 31 - August 15th. We really didn't notice any difference in crowds until the day free dining started. I think it was August 14 that year, that's when it really got crazy. It was more crowded during the Free Dining days that the BTG!

Thanks for the response:)

I know there are always crowds, but was really not a fan of those tour groups. Since they walk all together I was so scared of one of my boys being swept up in the middle and not being able to see us:scared1:. So I was really trying to schedule it when it would be less tour groupy. I know there are tons of free diners too, but we are leaving on the 17th so we wouldn't be there too long with them.

When we were there in November there was free WI-FI, is this still going on??

Yep. Still going strong. And from the buzz I'm hearing there is a chance that it will be added to the parks also. (May have to do with the Next Gen technology Disney is developing)

A couple pages back. I Will say folks were very much enjoying SAB while the work was going on.

I know this has been asked before, but, when do Osbourne lights start?

Bumping this question up. KB, if nobody knows here, I bet you could find the answer on the Theme Park forum (but I hate sending you elsewhere for info)

Do they sell any of this online? I would love to get Yacht Club T-shirts before we go on next trip :)

I don't know, but great question.

Here is the phone number and email address for WDW mail order:

(407) 363-6200 and wdw.mail.order@disneyworld.com

If you find out that you can order YC merchandise, please let us know.

How have I NEVER thought about transferring my Grey Goose Slushie into a reusable mug so it stays cold longer (and doesn't slosh out of the martini-ish glass)????? Goodness, I am learning all kinds of new tricks today!

There is a whole post, including comments from me, pixarmom and Marlton Mom about the glories of the marriage between GGS and refill mugs. It is around page 86.

:lmao: With all the vinylmation I carry for three boys at WDW, I feel like that's exactly what I do!!!

I didn't know your boys were into vinylmation. Have you been to the store at DTD? Someone posted pictures on their trip report (I think it was mickeystoontown) and I couldn't believe the structures they made out of them!

We were there this year when they started on Thursday, 11/10. There were lots of rumors that they wouldn't start until later in November but they ended up starting right around the same time they had in 2010.

Hi everyone,

I've read page 1 and I did not find the answer to this question anywhere.

Are Pool Noodles allowed to pool hop?

We are members of the "Pool Noodle Vacation Club" but there doesn't seem to be a rule book anywhere that we can find. I know people that belong to the Disney Vacation Club are allowed to pool hop. Why shouldn't it be the same for Pool Noodles?

Just Wondering.... or 'wandering' if it's legal.

Paul Noodle
