I love the new resort stuff. I wish the coffee mug was a travel one though. As a high school teacher, I almost never use a real mug. And it isn't isn't because of my students, I just need it to stay hot longer! Think I will rethink it because I want one!

MM, can't wait to see the next group of pictures.

Thanks SO MUCH, MM! :) Was this the only colour for the t-shirt? Just asking because I was going to give one each to the kids in our welcome package.

Kids had a sleepover last night and both are pretty unbearable to be around right now. Makes a kid-free vacation sound pretty good right about now! Enjoy, Dee! We'll miss ya! :)

:)

Yep. It was the only color I saw...

I forgot to post pix of the polo shirt. I've corrected my error so check the original post if you want to peep at it.

Lol thanks for saying that... I looked again and I was like how did I miss that polo! Good to know I'm not totally losing it yet:lmao:

Will I be disappointed with the Beach Club. I am booking for Aug 8th with my DD and Neice staying with me until they check in on Aug 15th with the Disney college program.
I am worried because I had my hopes so high with the Poly and was very disappointed when we stayed there.
We are coming in a week early from the girls sign in date because I have 2 granddaughters that will be in Disney with there dance teams. (got to enjoy the grandkids too)
Being in August we thought having the stormalong Bay would be nice.
Am I making the right choice?

I LOVE all the BC merchandise! I hope they still have a good selection when we get there in April! :cool1:

Yes you are!

I think it would be a good idea if you talked to us and let us know what you didn't like about the Poly and what you are hoping for at the Beach Club. Many of us who contribute to these boards have the experience to answer just about any question concerning a stay at the resort.

Talk to us and let us know your hopes and dreams and concerns regarding your stay. Hopefully we can provide you with enough info to put your mind at ease and help you to start to plan for a wonderful stay!

Welcome to our world! :cheer2:pixiedust::welcome:

I'm at BC now. There is a small mirror that can be posed next to the sinks. It is attached to the wall and can be used to check the back of your hair. I always use a mirror to check my hair like that, too.

We are having a great time! A small storm postponed this morning's fishing excursion, but we are going this afternoon. We enjoyed the campfire and movie on the beach last night. Today is DH's birthday, so we will be celebrating all day!

The wi-fi here is not very good so I haven't posted to tell everyone hi like I had meant to. And I hate typing too much on my phone. :)

Thanks for posting about the mirror!

Now you're making ME panic.

Where are you seeing an extended forecast?

Sorry. I didn't mean to make anyone panic. Accuweather.com does a 15 day forecast. When I checked today it changed significantly for the better. I'm going to keep checking just so I have something to obsess about, but next Sunday is when I'll check it for real packing!

I really dont see how you would be disappointed. I know the feeling though. We LOVE YC - staying BC and Poly first time this summer and am nervous to stray from YC CL. But that being said, the pool is a huge draw for us in June. so hot and it is just fantastic. We enjoyed BWI but LOVED YC. In August you will be happy to have that pool, be so close to Epcot and the overall resort is fantastic. however that being said, my hesitation with BC lies in the fact that TO ME it gets noisy with the lobby of CApe May and TO ME seems to draw younger familes. I personally prefer the YC and wonder if you checked into that? For us, it was not available with club level for our week but beach club was.....

I just wanted to post real quick. We got checked in on friday morning and had some major pixie dust sprinkled on us. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite on the 3rd floor. The resort is beautiful and the club level castmembers have been absolutely wonderful. We saw Teena in the lobby today but she was busy talking to other guests so we didnt get a chance to meet her yet. Hopefully tomorrow . I've taken tons of pictures of our suite to add to the thread. And for anyone wondering, our room actually has two phone books and comes with a keurig coffee machine with a large selection of coffee and tea kcups. I will post my pics next week when we get home

Tisha congrats!!!! we had that same suite in YC 4th floor and loved it!!!! Lucky you!

scottmel raises some great points. Keep in mind that the Yacht Club is the sister resort to the Beach club with all the same amenities and access to the same pool (Storm Along Bay). The only real difference in my opinion is that the Yacht Club is decorated differently and tends to attract the convention crowds versus the families. The YC also has full balconies where as the SOME of the BC rooms may not. That would be something to consider, only if it's important to you.

Out of curiosity... is it frowned upon to bring beers in the refillable mugs down to the pool? I guess no one would know... and we always buy drinks at the pool bars but it's also nice to bring some of our own stash too.

When I went in Sept I had some of those tall disposable coffee cups with lids and a beer fits right inside. No one ever questioned me.

Ok, so in the past I've taken a lot of flak from those of you in the food porn camp about not taking food pictures when I lug around more camera equipment than Ansel Adams.

Well those days are over. I'm giving you food porn in a way you've never experienced it before. We are talking BEEF CAKE ladies!! Luscious, luscious Prime Meat!

First, I'd like to apologize to the guys on the board. This is probably not the kind of food porn that you will enjoy. I think I'm just going to have to get Mickey T and his camera back to the parks so he can represent the guys in this new form of food porn that Marlton Mom has invented.

Now before we begin with the porny parts I have to start at the beginning. Since this was a solo trip to the world, I didn't have to drag, um, I mean take my family around to various places at the parks like restaurants or attractions. I could set my own schedule and this meant I'd have time to have dinner with friends and chat and really enjoy myself like, like, LIKE A GROWN UP!

It was heaven! You all know how much I like the Captain's Grille and that seemed like the perfect place to go for dinner. But WHO should I dine with I wondered? It was too hard to choose just one so I took a couple of my friends and off we went!

On the way over we found this woman wandering around muttering something about how does she get to "Pop". I asked her to pose with her best side out and this is how she turned:

She looked kinda hungry so I thought I would invite her to dinner with my friends. As soon as she got a peep at who I was bringing SHE WAS ALL OVER THAT!

We got to the Captain's Grill and after a brief wait for a table we were seated. Two of my friend were especially excited about the bread and we had to keep reminding them to save some for the rest of the table.

Here is a shot of my friends eating the bread:

Next the soup came and my friends wanted to dive right in. It's a good thing they weren't wearing shirts!

Next the entrees came and let me tell you there was no gristle on this beef cake.

When I told the fellows I had crabs they were more than a little worried but I was able to put their minds at ease when this showed up at the table:

Finally it was time to give mama a little sugar. Nobody could pass up dessert so EVERYBODY came to the party!

So there is Marlton Mom's first attempt at food porn.

How'd I do?

I have to say that out of everybody at the table, I enjoyed dining with my mystery guest the most. She didn't come off as flat and her conversations were much more than one dimensional, which is something I couldn't say about the guys I was dining with. Heck, I'd go out for Dinner with her ANYTIME!
