Does anyone know how many of the BC garden view concierge level rooms have balconies? Also do all the YC garden view concierge rooms have balconies?

Thanks in advance, still debating upgrading!
All of YC garden view CL have balconies.....The 4 favorite I have are the ones facing the Wedding Gazebo...You can look to the left and see the lagoon and boardwalk, it is a terrific view at a garden level price. We even saw a wedding in the gazebo last summer

When I talked to them on Monday they said we were on schedule (which means February 10th). But even if they were running ahead of schedule, I doubt they would say anything until maybe the day before.

We did have more than a few days they couldn't work on it because of bad weather but I assume they allow for a few of those days when estimating the length of time to do the job.

Hi Teena :) I am wondering why the letters they sent out are stating it will be open again on Feb 7th when BWI's pool goes down for refurb??
That's what's confusing me :confused3 I'll be so sad if we don't get a chance to try out the BC slide, as this is the reason I chose BC CL over AKL CL for our stay

If you can use the BWI SLide while at BC b/c of refurb, it is far superior to the BC Slide though the BC POOL is superior to the BWI pool....

scottmel, do you recall whether the BWI slide is open the entire way, or is part of it covered like the big BC slide?

All I know is that the signs all over the BC say the rehab was 1/3 through 2/10. This is also the dates that show up on the website. It could open 2/7 though. I'm pretty sure both the Boardwalk and SAB slide will not be down at the same time.

The garden view rooms are very nice views too ... either woods, garden or courtyard is what you will see so you may want to request a full balcony on your reservation.

Agreed! Last year, this was the view of the Illuminations fireworks finale from our then-standard room (3512). I would think this would fall in the garden view category now, but that's just a guess.

Teena~
do any of the standard view rooms have the full balcony? I am thinking of requesting full balcony for our trip this May because even though we will have a not so nice view, I think DH and I would enjoy sitting out on the balcony with morning coffee etc.

Yep, about 50% of them so definitely request one on your reservation!

I THINK it is fully opened but I cannot be 100% sure but I think that it is.....

Teena,

It was great to meet you earlier in the week. We just returned home today and all of your advice was great. We had an absolutely magical stay and we cannot wait to return to that lovely resort. We are truly Beach Club fans now.

Thanks again!

Yep, as far as I know they do. However, some of shared balconies. And of course the first floor have patios.

One of the ways we are getting around the "Balcony Roulette" problem is to just request "ground floor". We have worded our room request "Sofa in room on the ground floor" in hopes that our Garden View room will come with those two things. Since we are "Garden View" I figure the patio on the ground floor will have the same "garden" view as the upper balconies.

What we really need, for my husband who has sleep apnea, is a recliner so that he can sleep semi up right. He is sleeping in a recliner at home on the nights where he just can't endure the pressure from the apnea machine. His other thing is to sleep on a sofa where he can't roll over on his back so that's why we are requesting a sofa. We figure if there is no chance of a recliner, a sofa is second best.

At night I never know where he will be sleeping. On more than one occasion I've rolled over and felt around the bed to see if he is there and I've come up with the dog instead! Our Collie Dawson is ever the opportunist! :dog2:

I am so excited to be staying here for the first time on our upcoming trip!! The pool looks awesome!!

We are a family of 5 so will have 2 queens and the daybed. What does the balcony/patio situation look like? Are their rooms available that have full balconies?

Thank you in advance!

Guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed and wait and see :goodvibes
Maybe we'll be lucky :lovestruc

Yes, if you are a family of five you'll get a room with a daybed and two queens. Half the rooms have full balconies and half have standing balconies. The rooms on the first floor have patios. If a full balcony is important to you, make sure your reservation has a full balcony requested on it.

People rent those recliners all the time ... we see them delivered to the rooms. You should look into it. The old daybeds (that are in most rooms) are not going to work for sleeping sitting up and they won't work for an adult ... they are meant more for a child. Perhaps someone can post a picture of one and you can see what I mean. I seriously would rent one of those recliners for the entire stay.
