Makes sense. I figured it was just because the garden wing rooms were probably limited and they seem to be booked so far in advance. ( I seriously booked this room last August for a trip this august over the phone and they were already out of the $280 rooms). Since the price over there was going to be the same at the BC it was kinda a no brainer. While we love the MK the best, we always seem to be eating in epcot and have always wanted to stay at the BC for the pool. Once I heard the CR doesn' thave that huge arcade anymore it was sealed.

Unfortunately, you booked a garden view so unless you upgrade to a water view room, you definitely will not get a water view room.

For me (I'm old but have long legs), I can make it from the lobby to 1501 (which is the closest room to the Epcot walkway) in about two minutes.

I know I will not have a water-view room. I should have been clearer and said if I had a water-view reservation, the full balcony would be more important/desirable. But with just a garden view, I don't know if I'd really be inclined to spend time out there anyway.

Good to know that even from the end of the resort it's only a 2-minute walk back to the lobby. That leads me to believe room location isn't really a factor as I'm sure each has its pros and cons that probably balance each other out. Thanks.

The garden view rooms are very nice views too ... either woods, garden or courtyard is what you will see so you may want to request a full balcony on your reservation.

Does anyone know if they still offer turndown service for club level rooms at the Beach Club?

Would you mind me asking what exactly you liked about it over the contemporary? I just switched from the contemporary to the BC yesterday mostly because we love the epcot area ( up until this future trip we've always stayed at the dolphin). It seemed like the room we had at the contemporary was much harder to get as there was no availability for it yesterday but plenty of rooms at the BC (i'm guessing it's because of the # of rooms at the price we reserved over there).

We've stayed at both and my kids greatly prefer BC. I think the theming is better and the pool at BC is WAY better. The pool at the Contemporary is just ok and the pool at BC is spectacular. We also like to eat in Epcot and we loved that we could go to any park during the day, return to BC for a swim, change clothes and head to Epcot for dinner. Even with 3 little kids it takes only a few minutes to get to World Showcase. (The walk from the Contemporary to MK is much, much longer).
I liked our room in the garden wing of the Contemporary and we would stay there again - especially during the winter months when swimming isn't as important - but my kids keep asking for BC.

Thanks for the review! The food looks really good and my DH loves seafood, so this might be something I can get him interested in.

My husband loves Cape May. He loves the clam chowder and the other seafood. I, on the other hand, hate seafood but still love Cape May. Bring on those ribs!!!!!

I was planning on making an ADR for dinner at Cape May before I read the review and seen the pictures since when we stayed at YC we only went there for breakfast, but when I seen the ribs in the picture I knew instantly it will be a hit with DH, might book two ADR's there one for start of vacation and one for the end :goodvibes

Honestly, we live about an hour away and Bob hates the drive into WDW but any day of the week if I say, "hey, let's go and eat dinner at Cape May", he'll jump up and say "let's go!!"

That is so great! I have been trying to convince DH(whose name is also Bob) to move to Florida since our first visit in '89 but no luck. Now that he retired on 12/31/10 I have my hopes up especially with the 2 feet of snow we are buried under right now with more coming I hear :scared1:
To live an hour from Disney would be a dream come true

Yey we finally managed to get our room changed to a garden view!! Took around 10 phone calls to my travel agent but its been sorted! So August 11 - Sept 1 we will be at the Beach Club in our garden view room!
Last time we stayed in room 4544 and liked that area so should we just request a room close to Epcot - any recommendations for the best rooms in this area?
Thanks
Claire

Glad it finally worked out!!!
That's close to the quiet pool so you could make "close to quiet pool requested" your request. Don't forget, if you prefer a full balcony, then make your request "full balcony, close to quiet pool requested".

Was wondering if there's any news on the water slide and reopening? I see you've had good weather down there so fingers crossed it will open early. Thanks for any info :)

P.S. Disney should really pay you to so nicely answer all of these questions for their guests. I'm sure they don't (former cast member myself) but it sure is great you do this - hopefully your managers at least know and appreciate it.

When I talked to them on Monday they said we were on schedule (which means February 10th). But even if they were running ahead of schedule, I doubt they would say anything until maybe the day before.

We did have more than a few days they couldn't work on it because of bad weather but I assume they allow for a few of those days when estimating the length of time to do the job.

Just wanted to chime in that my DH and I will be checking in to YC March 23rd. :cool1: We can't wait!!!! I am so looking forward to this relaxing trip!

Does anyone know how many of the BC garden view concierge level rooms have balconies? Also do all the YC garden view concierge rooms have balconies?

Thanks in advance, still debating upgrading!

There are very few CL garden view rooms. Most are standard and water but I believe the few that are garden view rooms, most have full balconies (off the top of my head, I'd say one might not). If you upgrade to a garden CL room, just make sure you put "full balcony requested" on your reservation.
