Just book our first BC stay for Dec 16-23rd...so glad I found this thread!!!! We are staying on a pin code. We usually stay at the Moderates. My 11yr old daughter's dream was to stay at BC ever since she was about 6. We have always told her to marry a rich man....so excited for this trip. Now I need to go through these pages and find out as much as I can:woohoo:

Congratulations on your pin code!

You will LOVE BC!!!
Natebenma has done a fabulous job on this thread - enjoy all her pictures!

I read that 50% of the rooms at BC have "full balcony" and 50% have "standing blacony." Does someone have a picture of the "standing balcony"? Do any rooms have NO balcony?

Thank you. We have stayed at WL twice and LOVE IT but the Beach Club looks really nice and we would like to try it on our March 2012 trip!!!!!

You can see a picture of the standing (and full) balconies on the first page of this thread, post #2. The standing balconies are the ones that you can see one door that opens with a small railing surrounding it. We had one last month and you could open the door and take one step out onto the balcony, but that is it. You can't sit on them or anything.

Here are a couple of photos that may help you picture and compare the two balcony types. I don't know if there are any rooms with no balcony- haven't heard that, but perhaps someone else knows.

Hello everyone!

We have decided on either YC or BC for our stay in October 2011, but can't decide between the two. I have heard that the BC tends to be a little noisier/more active than the YC and I am wondering if the difference is significant? Are the actual rooms quieter at YC? The Beach Club decor/atmosphere appeals to us a little more than YC does, but YC is our first choice if it means we will have less noise in the room at night. We'll be staying club level, if that makes any difference in noise levels....Any input would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, and I tried PMing OP, but OP has a full mailbox. There's a very helpful website I like to use for BCV vacations:
http://www.parkinfo2go.com/dvc-bcv/ that shows the room layout and locations.

Hi- Sorry about that! My mailbox has been full for awhile. I have a packrat mentality and I hate to delete anything- you never know when you're going to need it!!!

Thanks for posting this here. I'll take a look. As I mentioned a few posts back, I feel funny about posting content on the front pages without the permission of the person who created it, but I will definitely add it to my file of information. It will be here for awhile and then if someone asks, it can be reposted.

Thanks!

Just took a peek- it does look like a great site with lots of detailed BCV room info!

The balcony configurations vary. Some 2 Brs have one balcony off the second BR and a longer one that spans the living room and master. Some have three separate balconies. Some have one balcony off the LR and another off the 2nd BR but a picture window in the master.

Have fun with your split. We love that combination.

Thanks for the info on the balconies at BCV!

We're so excited about our trip. We  BLT and the Epcot resort area. It's the best of both worlds :cloud9:

Just got a pin to back to Disney- trying to decide a date right now!!! I'm so excited to be going back, since I was sick and in bed for 3 days at the YC in Dec.

Is the CL lounge at the BC the same size as the YC? I looked at the pictures from the BC, but I can't tell.

Are the CL guest rooms the same size in the YC and BC?

Excellent info everyone. Thanks to all for their time and efforts. This thread has been a big help with planning :thumbsup2

Never stayed at the BC (I'm a YC guy) but from what has been posted here over the last year, I feel comfortable in saying the lobby noise would not impact you in any way in your room at the BC. Dee has done a great job explaining the two hotels on the first two pages of this thread. I encourage you to look at this. The BC is a little "busier" with children due to the character breakfasts that go on at the restaurant off the lobby at the BC. The YC isn't as busy because you find more conventioners (single adults) staying at this hotel than at the BC. The YC is referred to as the "dark side" due to its use of a darker wook decor where the BC uses a lighter more festive painting scheme. I think you may be reaching an incorrect conclusion in thinking the hustle and bustle of the lobby will seep up and affect you in your room. Of course you always stand the chance of kids running up and down the hallways in either the BC or YC or in any other resort you stay at. Those sounds will wake you at 2:00 in the morning even if you are staying at the GF (and I've had that happen to me there).

Haven't gone through the whole thread, sorry! I think I'll be able to get a few days at one of these resorts in a split stay. I have a few questions that may have already been answered:

1) What are the chances of getting a daybed in the room? DD will be 15, and DS16, so I would like the daybed; do they have those in the standard view rooms?

2) Leaning towards YC, how far is the walk to DHS? Epcot?

3) When were the YC and BC last refurbished?

Thanks for any help! :flower3:

Wow, tough question. If you weren't planning on swimming at SAB and just using the quiet pools, I'd say you'd be fine not adding them to the ressie. However, if you are using SAB, you may need to get room cards for them. I'm betting the front desk can help you with that when you are there. Seeing as there is no additional charge if you are a room-only reservation you should have no trouble just getting a couple of cards for them. However, if you are on the DDP you might have to add them to that as a part of the package for the two days they will be in the room. Just remember, they are checking room keys for everyone (sometimes). Parent's reservation at the Swan will not be effected by this.

The children are under 3. There is no charge for the dining plan. I would add them to your reservation since they are staying overnight, as an overnight guest is an overnight guest. Have a great time with your grandchildren.

Question, since we're talkin' balconies at BC...

Are the balconies in the Deluxe concierge rooms full-sized? Thanks!

Question, since we're talkin' balconies at BC...

Are the balconies in the Deluxe concierge rooms full-sized? Thanks!

I have this info packed away in my information file-

There are six deluxe Concierge rooms at BC.

1557 has a patio and lots of windows.
2557 and 4557 have extra large balconies.
3557 has the standing room only balcony.

3691 has both a standing room balcony and a full balcony
4681 has a standing room only balcony.

So 3 of the 6 have full balconies, 1 has a patio, and 2 have standing room only balconies.

I believe this info came from DisneyMomx7 originally. Thanks!

There are six of these rooms and if I remember correctly two have full balconies, maybe three. One is on the first floor and of course that has a patio.

Sorry to repeat my questions, but does anyone know if all of the suites have full balconies and water views?

Where is the concierge lounge located?

I've asked this question elsewhere but thought I'd put it here so the BC experts can chime in...

What are our chances of getting a full-size balcony with BC water view rezzies and a specific request, either with the booking or at check-in? What percentage of the BC rooms have full-size balconies?

Martin

About half and half as far as full versus standing balconies ... therefore I'd say you have a 50/50 shot of getting the full balcony.
