Well I did it, and I now have a reservation at the BCV's for 8/11/11-8/19/11 for my son's birthday. We have never stayed at the BC and we are very excited to stay at a new Disney property. I have also decided to take my mom with me so she can spend some time with her grandson. Now the long wait beings.

We stayed at BCV for the 1st time a few weeks ago and LOVED it! Everything was great!

I can hardly believe that I leave 2 weeks from Friday! However, I am having the devil of a time with Magical Express.

I arrive on the 1st on a flight out of Richmond.
Older DD arrives on the 2nd on a flight out of Boston.
DH and younger DD arrive on the 8th on a flight out of Richmond.
We all leave on the 10th on a flight to Richmond.

Is that so complicated?!?!?

The first set of paperwork they sent us had Bob and me arriving together on the 1st and there was no paperwork at all for the girls. So, I have my original paperwork that has my vouchers (and extras for DH, but he isn't on that flight).

Bob and Kristin finally got paperwork that is right for their flight on the 8th.

Kathrin has nothing. Not a darned thing. Is she going to be able to walk off her plane and onto a DME bus?? The CM I spoke to seems to think it is easy to do, but I thought you had to have a reservation. I can send her a luggage tag. Or two. I have LOTS of luggage tags!

Personally, this is what I would do. I'm talking to you as a guest, not a CM. If it were me, I'd call ME and demand to speak to a manager and I'd tell them I wanted it straightened out NOW. I'd tell them there is still time for luggage tags and paperwork to be delivered and I want it. That's what I would do. I know they say you can just walk up to ME at the airport and get on. I personally would not be comfortable unless all the paperwork was 100% correct.

Definitely call DME and confirm the reservation. If it makes you feel better, we've done DME twice without any paperwork and without any luggage tugs. Yes, that's right. They messed everything up for us twice in 2 years. And this time I was flying alone with 3 children ages 6 and under so I was pretty stressed.
If you don't get the paperwork, it's still easy.
#1 If you don't have luggage tags, make sure the airline check-in receipts are legible (the 1st time we did this, we could barely read the numbers on the luggage receipts).
#2 Go to the DME counter area right next to where you board. The person will print a boarding voucher for you. If you don't have luggage tags on your luggage, give that person all of your luggage receipts.
#3 Board the bus and wait for your luggage to arrive in your room. The luggage definitely takes longer to arrive without DME tags but it will still get there.

Thanks to everyone for their replies concerning DME. I called again today. Once again I was told that everything is in their system and there is no need to worry. So... I am no longer worrying. They sent another batch of luggage tags which arrived today. These do have tags for our older DD with her arrival date correctly displayed. I have to assume that this is an indication that all is right with the reservations. I hope!

Does anyone know if there is a place to rent toddler/small child life jackets on BC property? We are debating bringing our own, but I'm not sure.

They will loan them to you for free at BC. I think you get them down by the marina but I'm not sure. Just ask a lifeguard. I know my dd got them for my dgs's when we did our Grand Gathering.

WOW !! Just got done reading through this thread! I didn't think it would be possible to get more excited about our first trip to the Beach Club but I was wrong. This thread is the like the Beach Club Encyclopedia! My wife and I have gone to WDW many times in the past 15 years and usually stay at CBR or POR. We just recently got the opportunity to rent a BCV studio from a friend of ours who had to cancel their vacation plans. We'll be going Oct 10-15 and plan to hit the Food and Wine Festival and MNSSHP. So keep up the good work guys; looking forward to more pics and trip reports.

Questions for Teena (or anyone else who has the info)

A lot of YC/BC guests ask about the smell in the lobby, the brand of mattresses and the product line of shampoos and body products in the room and where some of these items can be purchased.

I know this info has been answered in previous threads, but I would like to put it up front, since it they are Frequently (or at least occasionally) asked questions.

Lots and lots of those little bottles of shampoo were left in the room for us, but I don't like to take them because they are in the little bottles which are not the most environmentally friendly containers, but now I am kicking myself. The shampoo was really great on my hair!

I remember that people can purchase the smell generator so if anyone has the company's contact info, that would be great!

All the above answers are correct. As far as which pillow, I have no idea and probably the only person that would know is the head housekeeper. I'm sure if you called the Y&B and asked to speak to a housekeeping manager, they would get the information for you.
