Bob and I just booked the Disney Magic for a 7 night cruise. We'll be having Thanksgiving on board. Since Jeanne won't be home for the holiday and we can't go there, we figured the next best place to be is on the MAGIC!

Teena - how awesome!! Very excited for you!

We will be arriving at the YC in 4 short days and I haven't packed a single thing!!!! That is so unlike me too but life has gotten in the way and we've been crazy busy. But tonight I'm going to start figuring out what clothes I'm taking and pulling the suitcase out!

That's so exciting!!! Hopefully you will have a chance to baste and get stuffed at your happy place!

Does the BC have a large number of interconnecting rooms? We are a family of 4 (2 adults DS10 & DD8) and have booked 2 rooms and I am now starting to worry about not getting interconnecting rooms.

How exciting!!!! A cruise is definitely on my lists of things I want to do sometime very soon.

If you booked both rooms on the same reservation and it shows the four of you in the rooms, the room assignor will definitely give you inter-connecting rooms since they will see that the second room is for the kids. Don't worry. If for some reason you get there and the rooms are not inter-connecting, then just tell them at the front desk and they will switch you.

Thanks for the reassurance, we never had a problem at the GF or Waldorf but I just start to get the jitters before we travel.

We are due to check-in on Friday 15 October (DH's birthday) what is a quieter time to check-in? We are moving from Universal that day so can arrive anytime.

This one is the 7 night Eastern. We stop at Castaway Cay, St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

That is so cool and what a great way to spend Thanksgiving if you can't be with your daughter!

Looking forward to talking with you about it in just a few weeks!

Have a great trip. We love cruising (been on 9 and have the 10th booked) but DH refuses to do a Disney one as there is no casino. DD is 22 so not going is not killing her.

Thanks you - now if only DH was excited about this trip...:sad2: I really think BC will make him happy though.

Yes - maybe next time we'll go back to beginning of October and see our friends!

I've used Powerade while at Disney and it's been ok after long, hot days in the park. I just know Gatorade works wonders (got dehydrated this summer like an idiot.) Maybe pick some up at MCO before you go to the resort?

.

Your friends would love to see you in OCT! Our good friend is taking care of the Gatorade:goodvibes (although you had a great idea)!

Hello all!
I am entering that dangerous time of year, planning our Disney vacation and getting addicted to the DIS boards! We are looking into a Beach Club CL stay 12/18-12/23. We are a family of 4, myself, DH, DD11 and DS7. This will be our 3rd family trip to Disney. We started out at AKL CL then WL CL and now I really hesitate to not stay CL mostly because of the ease of grabbing breakfast in the morning and the nice bedtime snacks for the kids and cordials for parents. I have used a combination of IPO and my own internet sleuthing to book my ADRs. I am looking forward to seeing Disney from another angle at the Beach Club, enjoying Epcot more this trip and exploring the Boardwalk.

I have spent the last two days catching up on the 80+ pages on this thread and am so impressed with what I have read.

I am trying to choose between Garden and Lagoon view. In a perfect world, we would have a lagoon view, full balcony, 2 queens and a daybed so that the kids can each have their own bed. I doubt we could get that bedding as a family of 4 though. Can we get a roll away if we end up with 2 queens?

What are the odds of getting a lagoon view with a full balcony for club level?
I have read enough to know that I should only request what is most important. Wanted to base that request on good info. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Haven't seen this discussed yet: Is there a Hidden Mickey scavenger hunt at YC/BC? One for each or does it combine the two resorts?

Last December, my children had a surprisingly fun time exploring Wilderness Lodge for all the hidden mickeys one night.

That reminds me of another question- are there character greetings in the lobby, especially during the Christmas season? Any other special events?
Last year we enjoyed the characters and the choral performances at WL.

That's great news Teena, can't have enough of Castaway Cay. I bet they do a lot of "special" turkey on T-Day. Do they put up lights and holly on the island? Hope we can still catch you on our trip 11/29.

Lots of activities at the resorts, something going on every day with choral singing and characters. Santa arrives some time close to Christmas. I'm sure Teena can add a lot more.
